Hello! Welcome to Day 2 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Today is the FIRST day of a THREE DAY blog hop to jumpstart your creativity. If you’re new to the coloring challenge or have any questions about the coloring challenge you can refer to this post.
If you are coming from the talented Lisa Tilson’s blog you are in the right place. To start at the beginning of the hop go to The Daily Marker’s blog.
This is the 6th coloring challenge and I’ve participated in all of them. I totally love this challenge. It allows me to really focus on my coloring. Whether it be with crayons, color pencils, markers, watercolors and/or watercolor crayons I get to focus on one thing at a time and really try my best to understand the medium I’m using.
For the last challenge I only used watercolors to color my images! I had a lot of fun learning all about how the colors mix together.
Take a look at some of my coloring from the last challenge a couple of months ago:
For this current challenge, I decided not to use any stamped images. I will use Adornit’s Art Play Paintables. They are ready to be colored with any medium.
I’m using my Prismacolor pencils. I have 132 of them and only use them once!! It is time to take them out and play with them. I just bought a online class from Kit and Clowder and they use those pencils too so that will help as well.
I might make a card or two this year but I really just love coloring! So we will see what these cute paintable sheets will turn out to be.
Take a look at what I’ve done for Day One of this new challenge:
Here is Day Two:
I’m having so much fun with my coloring!
Here is what I’ve learned thus far:
- Mixing coloring isn’t so bad. Just try it!
- Prismacolor pencils are super soft and you must be careful with this pencil. The slightest pressure can break the tip of this pencil.
- With Gamsol, blending out the colors are super easy.

Colored pencils are great. Never seem to have too many.
Nice coloring, I like colored pencils.
Nice watercoloring.
Awesome coloring tips! Your cards look gorgeous!
Thanks so much for sharing!! I have always wanted to colour these sheets but never liked the texture. Now I know what to do!! 🙂
I love your choice of colors!! So much fun!!
Sure loved your water coloured cards :o)
Your pencil work is great too. Can’t wait to see you at the end of the hop!
Loved your watercoloring. It’s one of those things I have not quite mastered yet!
awwwww…love your coloring Kymona!
I have never used Gamsol with my pencils befor, I will have to give it a try.
Lovely cards!
Beautiful coloring!
Fantastic coloring. Prismacolor pencils was my first “real artist” medium..lol. Introduced to me a whole new world!
Such adorable images! I love your coloring for them. I think color pencils are my fave because of how easy they blend.
Love all the different ways you colored these images.
I like your coloring ! You colored both of them perfectly!
Great coloring. Love seeing all the beautiful images and how you colored them. Great job.
I love colored pencils and I have a bunch of them. I also have some that used to be called Mongol Pencils and they are watercolor pencils. I’ve never gotten mine to look like that though. I thought you used water colors. I love the first one you did. It reminds me of that pack of coloring cards I got from Simon Says I think. It came out so pretty. I love the boy birthday card. My nephew is now 18 and in his first year of college but I think he would love that card for his New Years birthday. You did a nice job on everything!
I just love your flowers. They are so whimsical and happy! I love the colors and I love the shapes. It’s not that everyday stamped flower that we are used to seeing. Thank you for sharing!
Kathy U:)
Splendiferous! I can see I’m going to have to bookmark your blog and come back. You cover so many mediums. I’ve followed Kathy for a long time, but have just had the chance to do some coloring this year. I’m using markers right now (I don’t own Copics), so need to come back and see if you have suggestions for blending them.

You do great things with your color pencils, so you should use them often!!
These are wonderful! I love the brightness from the colored pencils. I don’t really have any right now, but I want some!
Beautiful work 🙂
Great coloring! I love colored pencils too–and I’ve used them with the Dove blender pen, so fun.
I have a similar set of Prismas, but in a different tin. I love working with them because of their softness and how smoothly they go down… even if you’re just coloring with them. Your images are great.
Awesome coloring!
Wow, I love the look of your colored penciling with the gamsol and am going to have to try this as well. I have a set of Prisma pencils but rarely use them.
What a cool way to color that sentiment and the blending on both is just terrific!! Thanks for the tips!
Nice coloring.
Thanks for the prismacolor tips – I was planning to buy a set the next few days. Helpful 🙂
I have used Prismacolor pencils for years but I have never tried Gamisol with them. Must try that.
Love your coloring. Never used gamsol before, I’m going to give it a try with color pencils now. Thank you for sharing!!!
Nice coloring and sweet images
Hey Joyce! Thank you so much!
Awesome coloring!
I want to try color pencil coloring!
It is just beautiful!!!
Hey Gloria!! Thank you so much!! Yes, you should try coloring with color pencils. They are so much fun. You will love it.
I have to practice being more patient when come to color pencils… your projects are so inspiration. Thanks for sharing/Jan
BEAUTIFUL colouring!!!
THANK YOU for sharing your projects and tips … I have just bought some Gamsol and look forward to use it for blending my pencils … I NEED to have a softer touch before then though, as I struggle layering & building up the colour. I also look forward to colouring some smaller printed panels too, saw some DCWV stacks that are calling to me, will keep an eye out for Adornit too 🙂
Your blending looks great.
