Maximize Your Top Dog Dies!

Hello everyone!!  I’m on the Top Dog Dies Blog today with another card that I created using one of my new dies.

Did you see that awesome release yesterday?  Top Dog Dies released 10 new dies and they are really to “die” for!!  Just in case you missed it you can find it here.

They are giving away all of the dies to one lucky winner!!  That is $122.00 worth of great dies!! You don’t want to miss that.

Today I’m here to show you how to maximize your dies.  I used the new Top Dog Dies Typewriter Uppercase Die!

How many time do we use a die for it’s intended purpose but throw the negative piece away?  Well not today.  I’m going to show you how to use that negative piece on your project.

(I saw a card with this technique and I knew I need to give it a try.  I wish I knew whose card it was but if anyone knows please let me know.)

Now take a look at my card:

CASology 135 – Mini

Second Post

If your looking for the Top Dog Dies Blog Hop post, click here

Hello everyone!!  Its CASology Tuesday!!  We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!

Week 135 - Mini

I have to say, I thought long and hard about this word “Mini”.  My first thoughts were to do something with Mini Mouse on it. Then I realized I do not have any Mini Mouse stamps, papers or embellishments so I had to scratch that idea.

Then I thought to myself, what is mini?  What do I have in my stash that is mini?  Then it hit me.

A couple weeks back, I bought a stamp set from my Instagram friend,  Vanessa who is the owner of V’s Sweet Ideas!

The set is called Coffee Break and all of the images are mini!!  Super perfect for this challenge.

Check it out:

Coffee_20Break_400w

Aren’t these the cutest “mini” images! I decided to make a couple of cards using the images from this set.

Take a look:

I used my Prisma Color Pencils for the first time and Gamsol to color in all of my images! I love the creaminess of these pencils.

Mini (CAS)

I stamped the image in the center for an added touch, LOL.  I stamped another sentiment from the set and a red heart under the iPad.  I used a gold pencil for this iPad.

I love you latte

I used a brown and teal color pencils for this coffee mug!  I stamped the sentiment and a red heart.

Mini 2 (CAS)

This card is my favorite!!  I love to read, if there is one thing you should know about me, I LOVE to read.  So when I saw this book image I was drawn in. I love how the pages of this book looks vintage.  It looks as if this book was really loved by its owners!!  I stamped my sentiment underneath with a red heart.

Mini (all)

Don’t you just love all of these miniature images!!  To top it off, my card stock was cut to a “mini” size as well!!

I hope my card has inspired you to play along with us and this amazing challenge.  So, now its your turn, so go and create something Mini! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Waffle Flower Crafts Challenge – Photo Inspiration

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with Waffle Flower Crafts Photo Inspiration Challenge!  This is our third challenge and its totally amazing.

February 23 challengeCheck out those colors!!  I had to really search my stash for those colors.  I think I hit the nail on the head, LOL.

Take a look at my card:

Live Laugh Love

I decided to use a new stamp set, Waffle Flower Crafts Rock My World and I didn’t want to plan what I wanted to create.  I was flying by the seat of my pants and I love how this card turned out.

I decided to create a mask using Waffle Flower Flower Circle Die and used it to covered my card front.

I blended Distress Ink Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean to create the flower pattern.  I wanted my colors in the same place as the picture.

I used Hero Arts Neon Yellow Ink and a pencil eraser to add that neon color to my flower.

I also use Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink Dauber to create the last color on my flower.

I added Hero Arts Gems to the card front to jazz it up some.

I rounded the corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and then I was done.  Yayy!!  Nice and easy card to create.

I love how this card turned out and I didn’t have a plan!!  Sometimes going with you gut, things turn out great!

Now its your turn!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I’m also entering my card in the One-Layer Simplicity Challenge: You Blend. This is the first time I’m playing with them. It seems like fun.

Happy Birthday Surprise!!!

Suzanne's Birthday

Hello everyone!  I’m excited about this blog post today.  Today is Suzanne’s Birthday!!  Who is Suzanne, better know as Suzy,  you asked?  Well let me tell you!

She is the owner of So Suzy Stamps and she has no idea that her Design Team is throwing her a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop.

This is the first stop on this hop!!  I’ve listed all of the participants at the end of this post just in case you miss a stop!  Each of the design team members created a birthday card for Suzy to show how much we really appreciate her.

What is a blog hop without some prizes!!  We are giving away a $15 So Suzy Stamps Gift Certificate and a free one month subscription to El Atelier de Stampartpapel to 2 lucky winners who leaves a comment on each of the blogs for a chance to win by February 22nd, 2015 by 11:59pm.   The winners will be chosen at random and announced on Monday, February 23rd at 12noon on the So Suzy Stamps Blog.  The winners will have 2 weeks to claim their prize.

Now onto the card I created for our fearless and super fun leader:

Happy Birthday Suzy

I went with black and white because I love this elegant look.  This picture doesn’t do this card justice.  The Wink of Stella pops on some parts to the card that isn’t captured in the photo.

This is how I created this card:

I cut my black card base to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).  My card panel is cut to 4 x 5.25.

I embossed my card panel with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed panel with foam tape.

I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to cut my small white panel.  Then I used that panel as a guide to cut my smaller black panel.

I stamped the Swirl So Suzy Stamp Medium Cupcake with black ink.  I added a Denim DoubleClick Skittle as the topper.

I added a random strip of ribbon to my card front.  I attached the smaller panels on top of that ribbon.

I added Wink of Stella to random places on my card.

Easy Peasy!!  I hope Suzy loves this card that I made just for her.

So what do you think?  Will she like this card?

Now on to the wonderful and talented Jenny Johnson to see what she has in store for you.

Late but with Love!!

Second Post for today

If your looking for Top Dog Dies Post, click here

Hello everyone!!  My happy mail from Gerda Steiner Designs arrived today and I couldn’t wait to ink this stamp set up.

I was drawn in by the turtle and the snail in this set.  I think they are so cute.  This set give me the opportunity to practice using my Copic markers.

Take a look at my card:

Late but with Love1

Isn’t that little snail the cutest little creature you’ve seen in a while.  I love how he turned out.  The purple and teal are a great color combination. The wink of Stella is amazing too!!

This is how I created my card:

1. I cut my cardstock to a 4 x 4 note card.

2. I used Mama Elephant’s Basic Border stamp set to create the lines at the bottom of my card.  I wanted that the lines to look like the street.

3. I stamped my snail for Gerda Steiner Designs Late But With Love stamp set and colored him with Copic Markers.

4. I fussy cut my snail and pop him up with foam adhesive.

5. I stamped the envelope, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut it out and placed it under the snail’s mouth with foam tape.

6. I stamped my sentiment and decided that I need something else on the card.

7. I remember I ordered some Purple May Arts 1/8 Velvet Ribbon from V’s Sweet Ideas Store.

8. It matched perfectly so I added it to the top portion of my card.

9. I rounded one corner and I was done.

What do you think?

I love how this card turned out.

Gerda Steiner Designs is hosting a Guest Designer call for March.  I decided to enter.

Confident Corset

I love this corset die!!  Its so pretty.  Oh, how I remember wearing these corsets when I was younger.  They always look so nice to go out in!

Take a closer look at the corset:

Confident Corset closeup

I paired this set up with my awesome Confidence is Sexy sentiment stamp from So Suzy Stamps.

The pattern paper that I used is Stacked with Love from Stampin Up!

I used Stampin’ Up! Polka Dot Embossing Folder to add dimension to the front of my card.

Here is how I created my card:

1. I die cut the corset from black cardstock and the background corset from pattern paper. I glued them together using glue.

2. I die cut the border using one of the boarder dies at the bottom of the my black card front.

3. I added a small piece of pattern paper behind the border die cut with adhesive.

4. I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and add white embossing powder and heat set it.

5. I ran my card front through my embossing machine use the polka dot embossing folder.

6. I adhered my corset to the front of my card using dimensionals.

7. I added a rhinestone to the front of my corset.

Super easy and elegant.  So what do you think?  Let me know below in the comment section.

CASology 134 – Monochrome and Giveaway

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday and you know what that means!!

We have a new Cue Card for you! This week the cue card is Monochrome.

Week 134 - Monochrome

What is Monochrome?  I wasn’t sure so I had to look it up in the dictionary.

According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Monochrome describes paintings, drawings, design, or photographs in one color or shades of one color. A monochromatic object or image has colors in shades of limited colors or hues. Images using only shades of grey (with or without black and/or white) are called grayscale or black-and-white.

Interesting, right – but I still wasn’t sure what I could do that would be CAS.  So, I took to Pinterest for a visual.

Take a look at what I found:

e4c8ae26a3465341edf7558407620810

721808a98336f6954f5ff80e226ac73c

Ralph Lauren Spring 2008

When I saw this dress, I knew exactly what I wanted to create.

Take a look at my card:

Confidence is

Happiness Is

How fabulous are these cards!!  Women love dressing up and getting their hair done.  Our vote of confidence rises when we look and feel pretty.

Key word “feel”, that goes with our “Confidence”!!  Once we are confident within ourselves, nothing can stop or make us feel less then.  So when we put on these pretty black dress and nice shoes, we shine double time.

So do you want to know where to find these awesome stamps?

They are from So Suzy Stamps!!  The owner and I met on Instagram (I love Instagram)!!  She wanted to know about some of the embellishments I was using on my cards.  So we got to talking, (more like stalking, LOL) and I found her store all before 9 in the morning!

The “Confidence is Sexy” stamp was the first thing I saw and was hook from there.  I order two of these stamps, one for me and another for my friend in Switzerland.  Then I found out that sentiment went with these pretty black dress and knew they needed to be displayed.

The Wedding Dress and the Black Slinky Dress are perfect for this challenge.

So Suzy Stamps are manufactured in the USA, are made with the traditional red rubber, the foam is indexed and every single stamp tells a story, has a meaning and are all oh So Suzy!!

Guess what???  Suzy was gracious enough to allow me to do a giveaway!!!  Yayyy!!!

I’m giving away the Black Slinky Dress stamp to a random winner who leaves me a comment below letting me know what gives you confidence!

So, now its your turn, so go and create something Monochrome!!!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
