Technique Tuesday September 2018 Release Countdown Day 1 & 2

Hello everyone!!! Today I’m showcasing two stamp sets from Technique Tuesday September 2018 Release!!

Let’s take a look:

I created these super cute notebook covers using Technique Tuesday Mandala Sentiments stamp set. I stamped the large mandala and the sentiment in black using Altenew Crisp Black Ink and the smaller Mandala using Altenew Embossing Ink. I decided not to add color to the mandala. They look amazing by itself.

Let’s take a look:

August for me is full of doctor appointments since both of my kids are in school. One in college and the other in middle school. So Technique Tuesday’s Medical Planner stamp set is perfect for planning out all of their appointments.

The images are so cute and perfect for my mini planner.

Rubeena’s Crafting Anniversary 2-Day Blog Hop

Welcome to Rubeena’s Crafting Anniversary 2-Day Blog Hop! This hop is epic with more than 60 guests and over $600 in sponsored prizes! Not only are we celebrating four years since Rubeena first discovered cardmaking but also crafting in general. This industry is made up of wonderful individuals who are creative, inspirational, kind, and incredibly supportive! Hop along so you can learn about why we create and how much joy it brings us!

If you arrived here from the talented Yana Smakula blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, hop on over to Rubeena Lanigro blog to start from the beginning. You don’t want to miss out on any of the fabulous creations.

Take a look at these homemade scented candles:

Wick Candle

Ruby and I have been friends for the past 4 years. We meet on Instagram when she first started crafting and our friendship has been a hit since then. We’ve watched each other grow. She watched me venture into many different crafts and I’ve watched her grow in her watercoloring journey.  She is fabulous at it. I need to brush up on my skills. LOL.

I decided to create candles for Ruby because I figured everyone else would create cards. I like to be a tad bit different.  With the new We R Memory Keepers Wick, making these candles are a breeze.

I have a bunch of glass jars with the old logo from my full time job. Instead of dumping them, I decided to use them for candles.

Here’s how these candles were created:

Simple fill the well with wax to the fill line.

Secure the wick to the bottom of recycled jar with a couple of glue dots.

Once the wax completely melts, add a couple of coconut drops for a sweet sent.

Then open the nozzle and allow the wax to fill the jar.

Wick Candles

Since these jars are bigger then the molds that come with Wick, simply melt more wax fill the jar.

Let the candle sit for 24 hours.

Decorate the jar and your done.

Wick Candle

What do you think?

Candles are awesome gifts for friends, family, loved ones, teachers, and coworkers. This one is on its way to Ruby! LOL!! Would you try making your own candles?

Altenew Watercolor 36 Pan Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s Watercolor 36 Pan Set Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing Altenew’s Watercolor 36 Pan Set!  If you arrived here from the talented Nicole Picadura blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

This beautiful set of 36 vibrant watercolor half-pans coordinates perfectly with our line of ink. They are intensely pigmented, fade minimally when drying, and some colors have lovely granulating effects. They are stored in a convenient plastic case, designed with space for your brush (included) and a palette in the lid for mixing. Some of the case lids snap off upon opening and can easily snap back on after you are finished creating so you can store your mixed paints with the rest of the pan colors.

The set contains

  • 36 Artist Grade Watercolor Half-Pans

  • Plastic Case

  • Water Brush

Take a look at my Watercolor Traveler’s Notebook:

Altenew Watercolor Pan

I recently took a vacation with my daughter to Cuba and it was amazing. The country is a must see. Although the infrastructure is on the decline, you can still see the beauty in the country. We had a blast and learned a lot.

I used the watercolor pan to add color to my pages that would match the colors in the photos.

I love how the watercolors mix and move across the paper. The interesting thing is, I used linen paper and it did well with the watercolors.  I was surprised. The colors are vibrant and smooth.

Let’s take a look inside:

Altenew Watercolor Pan Set

The left photo is in Plaza de la Revolucion. The faces on the building are of Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos, who are two important deceased heroes of the Cuban Revolution.

The right photo is of the port of Havana. So pretty!

Altenew Watercolor Pan

Taxi anyone!!  LOL, I thought this taxi was the cutest thing ever. Three people in the back and the driver in the front. All aboard.

Altenew Watercolor

The photo on the left are locals waiting on the bus to come.

the photo on the right is my daughter walking in town.

Aetenew Watercolor

The photo on the left is a photo of a couple of houses downtown.

The photo on the right is a photo of a women and her children walking down the street.

Altenew Watercolor

Both photos were taken from the sky- Hello Havana!

I used different color watercolors on all of these pages. Perfect way to showcase all of the photos.

We R Memory Keepers Word Punch Board Review

Hello everyone!! Have you heard? We R Memory Keepers has a new punch board!! Yes, they do! It is the best one yet in my opinion.

Let me introduce you to the:

We R Memory Keepers Word Punch BoardWe R Memory Keepers - Word Punch Board

Yes, a word punch!! Now we can punch out words, phrases and sentences (I love pushing limits)!

Let’s check this new tool out:

Does this tool remind you of another tool We R Memory Keepers release back in 2017? If you said yes, and guessed the Planner Punch Board, then you are correct!!

Planner Punch Board review

Planner Punch Board

If you missed that review, you can check it out here.

The difference between the two are the actual inserts. The Planner Inserts has different types of holes for the different planner systems and the Word Inserts has letters- one for each letter in the alphabet!!

What’s in the Box:

  1. One Alignment Guide Base
  2. 26 Letter Inserts A-Z
  3. Instructions

Let’s take a closer look at the Word Punch Board:

The Word Punch Board comes with Adjustable Inserts.

Word Punch Board

Each insert has a letter from the alphabet imprinted on the top of the inserts.

Allowing you to personalize notebooks and gifts!

Word Punch Board

This punch board can punch 10 letters at one time.

Word Punch Board

Punching repeated letters is easy to do.

Word Board Punch

Here’s how I do it:

  1. Simple spell out the word you would like to punch placing another punch in the repeated letter space.
  2. Once all of the letters inserts are in place, pick up the letter insert that does not belong.
  3. Slide the paper right in the corner groove of the punch board, so that your second punch will line up.
  4. Punch the word.Word Punch Board
  5. Move the repeated letter into the open space and punch again.Word Punch Board

Nice and easy. Instructions are located included in the box just in case you need it.

Pushing the Punch: Punching a Sentence

Word Punch Board

I love seeing how far a tool can go and this one did not disappoint! I punch a sentence!! Yes, a full sentence minus the punctuation. (Maybe, the company will create some punctuation marks after this review. Crossing my fingers.)

Here’s how I did it:

  1. Place the letters in the punch board, leaving space between each word.
  2. If the sentence is short, less than 10 letters, all of the inserts will fit.
  3. If the sentence is long, more than 10 letters, punch the first set of words.
  4. Remove the inserts and add the rest of the inserts, eyeballing the space between each letter and words, punch.
  5. Repeat step 4 if you need to.

Amazing right! It’s perfect for scrapbook pages. Creating your own title.

Aligning the Inserts

Word Punch Board

The Word Punch Board has an alignment guide base.

Catching the Waste

Word Punch Board

The Word Punch Board comes with a hole catcher that opens at the bottom.

Storing the Punch

Word Punch Board

You can store the inserts flat within the base by linking them together.

Word Punch Board

Labeling with the Word Punch Board:

  1. Notebooks
  2. Cards
  3. Scrapbook layouts, Pocket Pages
  4. Photos
  5. Storage containers
  6. Gifts
  7. Tags
  8. Journals
  9. Planners

Word Punch Board

So there you have it!! The Word Punch Board!

Let’s take another look:

Word Punch Board

What do I think?

I love it!! I recommend it for those of you who are in love with adding words to your project, personalizing gifts, or simply punching letters into paper!

  1. This tool is easy to store.
  2. It fits right in your bag.
  3. It’s inexpensive.
  4. You can create sentences, phrases and words.
  5. It cuts though thick paper with ease.

So what do you think?  Will you add this word punch board to your supply collection? I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment below.

Let’s look at what I created:

Technique Tuesday Travel Buddy

Created a traveler’s notebook to document my current vacation. Which I have to say I’m loving by the way!!

For this notebook, I used the Travel Buddy Stamp Set to and stamped straight down the side of the notebook. I kept it simple since I do not know what colors my photos will have. Better to keep it neutral then add color after.

What do you think? Are you ready to travel?
