CAS(E) this Sketch!

I am participating in this new card sketch by CAS(E) this Sketch!  Today’s card is a series of three stamped images across the front of the card with the sentiment on top or below.

Take a look:

You make me smile

I was wondering about the smiley face being in black but the more I look at it the more I loved how the card came out.  I balanced the smiley face out with the sentiment in black.  The twine matched the color combo of the sun.  For me this is a well balanced card.  What do you think?

5 Days of Birthday Cards – Day 2

This is my second post of the day.

I was up last night, couldn’t sleep for nothing in the world.  So I decided to make another birthday card for my series.  The colors for this card came from Stampin’ Up!’s Occasion Catalog.  The colors can be found in the Kaleidoscope DSP.  I love the colors in that paper.  I just realized that the two stamp sets are from the Kaledioscope suite as well.  I love how things come together.

Knitted Sleeve – Love It!

Today’s project was inspired by a post I saw on Pinterest.  As I said before, I love simple knitting.  I posted a sneak peck picture of what I was making and I am so pleased with the results of my knitted sleeve for a coffee cup.

Take a look:

Knitted Sleeve

I’m going to give this cup away to one of my book club members who answers my Monday giveaway question correct.  I think this sleeve is so cute.  It gives the cup personality!

I need more simple knitting, if you know of any please leave me a comment.

Let me know what you think.

5 Days of Birthday Cards – Day 1

I was looking through my stash of cards and I realized that I was really low on birthday cards so I’m going to have a series of birthday card to showcase.  I will make 5 different birthday for this series.

Today’s card is a male’s birthday card.  I love the colors and the shapes that are on this card.  I’m using a lot of different products on my card that are new in my craft corner.

Take a look:

Male Birthday Card Front

The horizontal stripes were made with a new die cut from Papertrey Ink called Stripes Horizontal.   When I was finished with the front of the card I was wondering what will I add to the inside.  And here is what I decided.

Inside mistake

Take a look at that.  Can you believe I made such a big mistake!!!!  I could not believe it.  I wasn’t paying attention and stamp the image upside down.  How could I???  What was I going to do? At first I decided to just not show the inside but I really want to use this card so what can I do to fix this mistake.  Take a look at how I made a come back.

Inside Corrected

I decided to use what I learned in the Insiders class and brought the front of my card to the inside of the card.  All I did was turn the square image 90 degrees for a different look.  I just love it!!!  The card came out so nice.

My mistake caused me to really pull from my creative hat and it made the card pop.

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do.  Just click on the images below if you want to purchase them.

Love Knitting

I have a love for simple knitting.  I learned a couple years ago and have made tons of scarves and hats.  I started making a blanket for my daughter when she was born and I still haven’t finished.  She is going to be 8 this year.  It wasn’t simple knitting.  I look at it everyday.  I will finish it soon, I promise.

Today I will give you a sneak peak into what I am working on.  The colors are fabulous!

Pink and Brown

When I’m finished creating my project I will share the whole thing with you.  For now can you guess what I’m making?  Leave a comment below.

Gifts for Workshop Members

Today is my fourth workshop with my coworkers.  We have so much fun.  For one hour we get to unwind and relax.  The type of work that we do at the hospital can be overwhelming at times.  This workshop allows us to regroup and go back to work ready for the rest of the day.

I have four faith members and one new member today.  So I decided to give them a small token of my appreciation. I love pencils and they just realized that.  So, I made them toppers for their mini pencils!!!  I love them!  Now, the idea isn’t totally mines.  I saw fellow demonstrator Angie Juda demonstrate this and I knew I had to make some for myself.  So, thank you Angie!  Enough suspense, take a look.

Pencils with Paper Toppers

I just love pencils and these toppers really gives them an edge.  You should try to make one for yourself.  It is very easy.

1. Cut a piece of DSP to 8-1/2 x 3 and fold in half long ways.

2. Use the Fringe scissors to cut the paper starting at the opening side of the paper. Leave about 1/4″ at the top of the paper uncut.  That should be at the fold.

3. Add sticky strip to the 1/4″ piece that isn’t cut.  That should be at the fold.

4. Take the backing of the stick strip off and align the top of the pencil, the silver top of the pencil to the edge of the paper, and roll the pencil on the sticky strip to form the topper.

5. Then you want to add Washi tape to cover up the edges. Push the excess Washi tape into the hole between the paper and the pencil to create a finished look.

6. To finish it off, use your hands to separate the fringes to create a nice full look.

See nice and easy!  If you need photos to help guide you please let me know.  I will provide that for you.

I hope you enjoy making them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Tune in later for pictures from my workshop later.

Supplies use:

1. Sweet Sorbet DSP which is in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  If you spend, $50 in my online store you can get that set of paper for free.

2. Washi Tape from my local craft store.

3. Staples has the 28 pack of pencils that contain the black pencils as well.  I believe that’s an in store item only.

Washi Tape Box

Hello, I’m here again with another project for you.  I can’t believe it, I’ve been on a roll with my posting.  I’m so happy about that.  I really have been putting some time aside each day dedicated to blogging and that has helped me stay on track.

Today’s box was made with a non-Stampin’ Up! tool, We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Tool.  I couldn’t help myself.  I must say it took me five tries to get it right, but I finally got it.  It turned out beautifully to me.  Take a look.

Looking for Springtime

Today’s card is a generic springtime card for a swap that I’m apart of.  I tried to keep it really simple with pastel colors that remind me of spring.  The flower on the front was created with 1-1/4 scallop punch.  I just cut every other scallop to create the heart shape flower.

Take a look:

I had to make six of them for this swap.   I hope the ladies that receive them will love them.
