Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s January 2018 Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing the all of the new Dies. If you’ve arrived here from the talented Galina Filippenko blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!
Take a look at my Scrapbook Layout:
Back in December, I went to a Whole Food for lunch during a workshop I participated in Brooklyn. It was the closest place to eat so why not. I first stopped at the salad bar but thought it was to cold outside to eat salad. I notice they had a soup bar so I shared out a bowl of chicken noodle soup. I wan’t happy about it but there wasn’t anything I could do until I saw the Pop-Up Ramon Bar.
Right away I thought yes, this is going to be so good. I looked at the price and saw that the veggie soup was $8. Great, I can swing that. I asked for extra bean spouts and onions. The chief fixed me a nice soup. He handed me the soup and I walked to the counter.
The lady said $33.96, I almost went to the bathroom on myself. WHAT did you say? $33.96 for a soup? I played it cool and pulled out my credit card and paid for this meal that should’ve cost me no more then $10.
Despite the huge price tag, this meal was good. LOL!!!
For this layout, I’m using the new Simple Alpha Die!! The shape of these letters are perfect for scrapbooking. They create an amazing title which is what I created above.
Here’s how I created this Scrapbook Layout:
I used Altenew’s Mini Blossom Die and a piece of scrapbook paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection to cut out all of the letters for the title.
I used my We R Memory Keepers Typewriter to type the smaller title.
I secured each letter to the base page with foam tape so that they are raised higher then the photos.
Super easy and fun!!

Nice layout to scrap that day! Love the alphabet dies!
Awesome page, love those upper case Bold Alphabet dies, my fave!
Wow, that is one expensive bowl of soup!! Cool layout to help you remember that day!
Love the different colors of your letters. I can’t believe the cost of the noodles.
Love that very colourful layout Kymona. I’m in love with the new January release by Altenew. Looks as though you’re going to have a lot of fun with it. Love how you’ve coloured your large alphas. Very inspirational.
Great layout of this experience.
Cute layout. I think I would have wanted to document it, too and to remind me to eat somewhere else. LOL! Love the way you created the letters in the sentiment! 🙂
Love your layout!! And love those awesome Alpha Dies!! I have already placed my order for those!!
Really cool page. Love the different colors!
Love the layout and alphabet dies used. Hate that you paid so much for that soup…what?!
Delightful layout to capture an incredible story! Thanks for sharing both.
Fun and sweet layout, the ramen is very pricey though, lol
Wonderful layout and design.
Love the way you colored the letters! Great alpha die set!
I’d have croaked to find out what it cost!
That’s a great scrapbook page!!! Love it!!!
Haha – funny story – yes we all did that 🙂 – great idea to scrapbook it for posterity 🙂
Loved your scrapbook layout using the alphabet dies. The only problem was it made me hungry!
Dang! That is pricey! But at least you have a beautiful layout to remember it by! LOL
I love your layout! And wow food does cost a lot!
Lol, sounds like someone had their hand on the scale! Anyways, love your layout!
Whoa!! $34 for a bowl of ramen noodle soup! I probably wouldn’t have been able to play it as cool as you did!
Beautiful layout and now I need those alpha dies… you temptress! Lol!
What a great colourful layout. Don’t blame you for taking a photo of your meal and receipt, I’d want the receipt framing for that much for soup and a salad.
A wonderful layout design. Very nice.
I love your layout!! So colorful and fun!
Lovely project! Thanks!
I love your layout–and that you celebrated a life event that wasn’t so much a good memory. But how did you rack up 5 and a half pounds of food? Sorry…I just noticed it on the receipt! In the end…it still makes a very interesting page! Thank you.
Wow! That’s expensive soup!! Great layout, i love the watercolor for the lettering. Thanks for sharing with us!
Gorgeous Layout! Wow! so beautifully crafted, Loved it!
Thank you so so much for inspiring!
How amazing! With the Alpha Die you can make any headline!
Love the layout and the soup does look yummy but I think it might have been a little over priced especially since there was no meat lol! Great job!
Yikes, I think I would have had them take something off of the soup to make it more affordable!
great layout using the alphabet die from altenew, the font is simple but so striking
Cute layout and funny story too! Love the colorful letters. Thanks for the inspiration and laugh. 🙂
Glad the food was good and at least you got great inspiration!
The price you paid is atrocious but glad you could make a scrapbook page out of it. Love those letters.
Such s dun layout!! Thanks for sharing!!
WoWonderful layout page!
Bright and colourful.
Love the cool layout & am amazed that your lunch would cost that much. You have a sure way to remember not to eat lunch there again!
Super fun layout.
Great layout! That is definitley an expensive bowl of soup!
Funny story about the soup, lol.
It’s nice to see another layout during this hop! Those letters look nice with all the color!
Very interesting story haha, great idea for a layout.
Such a fun layout:-)
This Bold Alphabet Die Set is really great. Your layout made me laugh (and sad for the cost of your lunch, too). LOVE your use of color.
You are a brave soul I have to give you that I would have not paid 33 for soup, but your layout is great. I love the color of the letters. They are letter that a lot of people look for and do not realize that they can make themselves. They layout is simple and to the point yet bold.
