Welcome to Rubeena’s Crafting Anniversary 2-Day Blog Hop! This hop is epic with more than 60 guests and over $600 in sponsored prizes! Not only are we celebrating four years since Rubeena first discovered cardmaking but also crafting in general. This industry is made up of wonderful individuals who are creative, inspirational, kind, and incredibly supportive! Hop along so you can learn about why we create and how much joy it brings us!
If you arrived here from the talented Yana Smakula blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, hop on over to Rubeena Lanigro blog to start from the beginning. You don’t want to miss out on any of the fabulous creations.
Take a look at these homemade scented candles:
Ruby and I have been friends for the past 4 years. We meet on Instagram when she first started crafting and our friendship has been a hit since then. We’ve watched each other grow. She watched me venture into many different crafts and I’ve watched her grow in her watercoloring journey. She is fabulous at it. I need to brush up on my skills. LOL.
I decided to create candles for Ruby because I figured everyone else would create cards. I like to be a tad bit different. With the new We R Memory Keepers Wick, making these candles are a breeze.
I have a bunch of glass jars with the old logo from my full time job. Instead of dumping them, I decided to use them for candles.
Here’s how these candles were created:
Simple fill the well with wax to the fill line.
Secure the wick to the bottom of recycled jar with a couple of glue dots.
Once the wax completely melts, add a couple of coconut drops for a sweet sent.
Then open the nozzle and allow the wax to fill the jar.
Since these jars are bigger then the molds that come with Wick, simply melt more wax fill the jar.
Let the candle sit for 24 hours.
Decorate the jar and your done.
What do you think?
Candles are awesome gifts for friends, family, loved ones, teachers, and coworkers. This one is on its way to Ruby! LOL!! Would you try making your own candles?
