Take a look at these homemade scented candles:

Wick Candle

Ruby and I have been friends for the past 4 years. We meet on Instagram when she first started crafting and our friendship has been a hit since then. We’ve watched each other grow. She watched me venture into many different crafts and I’ve watched her grow in her watercoloring journey.  She is fabulous at it. I need to brush up on my skills. LOL.

I decided to create candles for Ruby because I figured everyone else would create cards. I like to be a tad bit different.  With the new We R Memory Keepers Wick, making these candles are a breeze.

I have a bunch of glass jars with the old logo from my full time job. Instead of dumping them, I decided to use them for candles.

Here’s how these candles were created:

Simple fill the well with wax to the fill line.

Secure the wick to the bottom of recycled jar with a couple of glue dots.

Once the wax completely melts, add a couple of coconut drops for a sweet sent.

Then open the nozzle and allow the wax to fill the jar.

Wick Candles

Since these jars are bigger then the molds that come with Wick, simply melt more wax fill the jar.

Let the candle sit for 24 hours.

Decorate the jar and your done.

What do you think?

Candles are awesome gifts for friends, family, loved ones, teachers, and coworkers. This one is on its way to Ruby! LOL!! Would you try making your own candles?

  2. What a fantastic gift for Ruby! I haven’t made candles in a long time, I melted my wax in a saucepan dedicated to the purpose. I LOVE your cool wax melting machine, no need to worry about igniting the wax on the stovetop – awesome.

When I was young I went to BYF (Baptist Youth Fellowship) and we went on a field trip to learn to make candles and I loved it. Thank you for the inspiration as they really DO make beautiful and thoughtful gifts!
