Take a look at these homemade scented candles:
Ruby and I have been friends for the past 4 years. We meet on Instagram when she first started crafting and our friendship has been a hit since then. We’ve watched each other grow. She watched me venture into many different crafts and I’ve watched her grow in her watercoloring journey. She is fabulous at it. I need to brush up on my skills. LOL.
I decided to create candles for Ruby because I figured everyone else would create cards. I like to be a tad bit different. With the new We R Memory Keepers Wick, making these candles are a breeze.
I have a bunch of glass jars with the old logo from my full time job. Instead of dumping them, I decided to use them for candles.
Here’s how these candles were created:
Simple fill the well with wax to the fill line.
Secure the wick to the bottom of recycled jar with a couple of glue dots.
Once the wax completely melts, add a couple of coconut drops for a sweet sent.
Then open the nozzle and allow the wax to fill the jar.
Since these jars are bigger then the molds that come with Wick, simply melt more wax fill the jar.
Let the candle sit for 24 hours.
Decorate the jar and your done.
What do you think?
Candles are awesome gifts for friends, family, loved ones, teachers, and coworkers. This one is on its way to Ruby! LOL!! Would you try making your own candles?

This is super cool!! I love candles!!
Who doesn’t love candles!!
Fun gift for Ruby! I’m sure she’ll love it and I bet coconut smells fabulous!
I’ve made candles long ago, not using the convenience of the Wick. Your creations are so pretty especially with the wrapped sentiment/name on it.
What a great idea to make something other than a card…love these candles. I like the idea but I am not sure if I am ready to dive into something new…need to work on my current interests.
What a great machine! I absolutely love candles and have tons of them!
I remember making candles 100 years ago. they weren’t anywhere as lovely as yours! thanks for the “different” creation 🙂
What a great idea to offer homemade candles ! Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely gift. I’ve never tried making candles (oh no, another craft to spend $$$’s on). Just kidding, I love all kinds of different crafts.
Great gift idea!
I have never seen this before. What a great way to recycle the little jars you had! And fun to decorate.
Super cute! Not sure I’d ever make enough to warrant having a machine for this purpose though. Perfect for the crafter that sets up at craft fairs though!
cute. everyone loves candles.
Love your candles, Kymona. I agree they do make a great gift. No, I would not make my own candles. Candles are one of those things that I love, but they don’t love me. A few years ago I started removing things from my life that were toxic to me and/or caused allergic reactions. Candles were one of those things. Since then I have switched to EOs. =)
Thanks for the crafting ideas
Wow! What a sweet idea!!! Love so much your project!!!
Had no idea there was a candle maker on the market! How clever! Do like the bigger candle you made with a recycled container!
How fun! I bet you could add all kinds of wonderful fragrances to the candle!
Interesting!! Clever little machine!
What a fun way to create a personalized gift. So neat!
Oh my goodness. Had not heard about this “Wick” thingy! Oh, oh…now I will have something new to deal with. Lol. I love this idea. Actually…I think it would make great Christmas gifts…not just the candle I create, but the little machine itself! Thanks for sharing something new with us all.
Your candles are really awesome ! I use so many of them, maybe I should start making them too – LOL ! And with your beautiful decoration around the jars, they make fabulous gifts.
Yay for candles! What a great gift. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a candle maker.
I love candles. Yes, I have made candles before. This way you showed looks a lot easier. Definitely looking at it as a gift for a candle lover I know. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! This is great!
I too really love candles! That is a very interesting machine that you have there for making those candles!
What a great idea and a great tool! I have made candles in the past and found it too messy! Easier to buy and gift (with a pretty handcrafted card!). 🙂
WHAT!!! I didn’t know there was such a cool little candle maker!! I want one!! I LOVE scented candles! And so much fun to decorate the outside!
How fun is this! I had no idea that a candle maker like this was even a thing! These would be perfect for little housewarming gifts, or Secret Santas, stocking stuffers…so many possibilities! TFS and for being a lovely sponsor for Ruby’s anniversary!
Girl ! You took different to a whole new level , what a great idea !
Ooooh! what a lovely craft project, and perfect gift idea. The paper crafter in me, wants to make gift boxes to house them too.
WOW! I had no idea there were things out there like this. I love it! Thanks for sharing and helping in the celebration. Thanks for sharing.
Such a sweet little gift!
Just beautiful. Love it!
What a great idea! I love candles and who doesn’t love getting one from a friend? 😁
These are amazing!! What an unexpected surprise to have candles.
How cool is that?!! I’ve always wanted to get into candle making. This makes it look so easy!
Huge congrats to Rubeena!
Wow! These look simple to make and could definitely be a great gift!
What a great idea! You can never have enough candles!
Such a fabulous gift idea!
Gorgeous candle wrap! I’ve never tried making candles before – such a great idea!
SQUEAL!! SO FUN!! THANKS for sharing and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
Beautiful candles! I love the decoration.
Such sweet candles!! They are wonderful gifts… would I make them? Probably not right now…. I have no room for one more machine… even a small one like this…lol! However, it would be fun to give these as little gifts to co-workers and friends at Christmas time…or anytime.. so you never know! Some day! Yours are beautiful!
Great project – love to see items being repurposed. I made candles back in the ’70’s, melting wax in a double boiler over a hotplate. That machine sure looks a lot easier and safer. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been wondering how this thing works. thanks for sharing!
Wow! What a great little candle maker!! I’ve always done it on the stove! Such fun to have a way of doing it so precisely! I follow both of you and love your inspiration! Beverly Jordan or @jordanbev5
Love this fab custom gift. I’ve never made candles.
What a lovely gift for a friend. I’ve never seen this machine before. Great idea! Thx.
So beautiful Kymona! 🙂
