Altenew Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing the new scrapbook collection.  If you arrived here from the talented Nathalie DeSousa blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Scrapbook Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Take a look at my DIY Traveler’s Journal Cover:

Live Your Dream Die-Cut Embellishments

Live Your Dream Scrapbook collection is full of fun vibrant colors! I’m tickled pink by these traveler’s journal covers. Super cute and easy to make.

Here’s how I created them:

Cut a sheet of patterned paper to 8 x 5, scored at 3.5, 4 and 4.5.

Live Your Dream patterned paper

Run the patterned paper through a laminator.

Choose the die-cut embellishments you wan to use on the front cover and run those through the laminator.

Trim the laminated sheet and round the corners.

Rescore the score line, so that the plastic will fold nicely.

Use a 1/8 hole punch, punch 3 holes (on the score lines) 1/8 from the bottom and top of the traveler journal cover.

Measure 2.5 on the middle line and punch a hole.

Cut a 24 in piece of what elastic cording.

Now its time to string the elastic cord.

Live Your Dream

String the elastic from the front to the back of the cover, leaving a tail to tie at the end. I measured it for the hole its in to the middle hole in the center of the cover.

Now just go up, over and back down.

Now that you gone though each hole, your tails are opposite of each other.

The tail on the right will pass back through the hole below it so that its now on the inside of the cover.

The tail on the left will pass through the hole above it, so that it’s on the inside as well.

Like this.

Tie a knot nice and tight. Clip the ends.

Now you have four bands for four books!

Now cut another piece of elastic to 10in and string it though the middle hole from the inside out, to create the band that closes the journal.

Like this.

Now its time to add your books.

Cut out the laminated die-cut embellishments and adhere them to the front of the book.

I added only two books but four fit beautifully.

Live Your Dream

I’ll teach you how to make the books soon! Stay tune for those.

What is a blog hop without an amazing gift? Yayyy!!
