Hello and welcome to Altenew’s July 2019 Stencil Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing brand new stencils. If you arrived here from the talented blog, Kelly Janes, then you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog.
Take a look at my traveler’s notebook cover page:
Take a look at the inside pages:
I have to admit when I saw the new It’s for You Stamp Set, I knew I had to have it based on a trip I took last year with my daughter to Cuba.

We visited a street art museum, and one of the things that grabbed my daughter’s attention was the rotary phone. She was curious about it and wanted to know how it worked. I laughed and decided to tape her trying to use it.

Here’s how I create this page:
I wanted to keep my design clean and simple.
I used the Tall Alpha Die to decorate the cover of the notebook.
So I stamped the telephone and the sentiment on the right bottom corner of the page using the Mini MISTI and permanent black ink.
Round the edges of the photo.
Mount the photo on top of the cardstock and adhere it to the cover of the traveler’s notebook.
Add your text, and you’re done!
Let’s take another look:
What is a blog hop without an amazing gift? Yayyy!!!

I do love that telephone stamp! Your journal entry and the background story make this a fun memory! Who knew a rotary phone would be a challenge to use for the youth of today. (My challenge is using the smartphones of today!)
LOL, Jane!! You are so right. They don’t know what a record player is, or a CD player. Their world is so different from ours. My 1 year old niece knows how to work my smart phone more then me.
Very cute layouts!!
Thank you Sharon!
I really like the idea of a Traveller’s notebook. So cool you’ve used yours to preserve a fun memory of your daughter on part of your trip. I was quite happy to see the Rotary Phone stamp set in this release.
Thank you Teri! I had fun creating these pages.

What a fun and cute page. I had to laugh because when I was about your daughter’s age, that’s the kind of phone we had. Lol!

Your notebook is adorable! I love that you had a photo of your daughter with a rotary phone and matched it with the stamp.

Thank you so much Karthikha!
Your daughter reminds me of my kids when they were young. We went to the Henry Gord museum and they asked why the light bulbs looked weird. Lol The look and feel of this whole release is so organic and rustic! I loved your coloring and designs! Thanks for sharing!
LOL, thank you. It was so funny to watch her figure the phone out.
SO clever, Kymona! Lots of great memories in your little journal! Thanks so much for the wonderful inspiration!
And yet another great release. Love all the projects made. So remember those phones. 🙂
I love the use of the phone in your notebook. I had mentioned in a previous post that I can actually remember using that style of telephone, so I really like that stamp set!
Such a cute use of the phone stamp along with that photo. You will have such a wonderful reminder of your trip with your traveler’s notebook as a memory-keeper.
I love your creativity, Kymono! You always make these amazing journals that reflect who you are…you really inspire me!!
LOL – oh yes, oh fashioned rotary phones! Not surprising some of the youth may not know how to use them – love your journal page and story. I remember a news story recently about a simple test a school did where they gave some younger generations a sealed paint tin and some simple tools and some could not figure out how to open them. Nothing wrong with some old school/low techie skills 🙂 I wonder how horrified some would be about the idea of party-lines?
LOL!! You are right, young people have no idea. I remember showing my kids a typewriter, they were blown away!
Awesome pages!
Thank you Kelsey!!
Love that notebook! Great use of this fantastic release and that fun phone!
Thank you so much Cyndi!!
