30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog Hop

blog-hop-photo-for-bloggers

Hello! Welcome to Day 2 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Today is the FIRST day of a THREE DAY blog hop to jumpstart your creativity. If you’re new to the coloring challenge or have any questions about the coloring challenge you can refer to this post.

If you are coming from the talented Lisa Tilson’s blog you are in the right place. To start at the beginning of the hop go to The Daily Marker’s blog.

This is the 6th coloring challenge and I’ve participated in all of them.  I totally love this challenge. It allows me to really focus on my coloring.  Whether it be with crayons, color pencils, markers, watercolors and/or watercolor crayons I get to focus on one thing at a time and really try my best to understand the medium I’m using.

For the last challenge I only used watercolors to color my images!  I had a lot of fun learning all about how the colors mix together.

Take a look at some of my coloring from the last challenge a couple of months ago:

For this current challenge, I decided not to use any stamped images.  I will use Adornit’s Art Play Paintables.  They are ready to be colored with any medium.

I’m using my Prismacolor pencils.  I have 132 of them and only use them once!!  It is time to take them out and play with them.  I just bought a online class from Kit and Clowder and they use those pencils too so that will help as well.

I might make a card or two this year but I really just love coloring!  So we will see what these cute paintable sheets will turn out to be.

Take a look at what I’ve done for Day One of this new challenge:

Here is Day Two:

I’m having so much fun with my coloring!

Here is what I’ve learned thus far:

  1. Mixing coloring isn’t so bad.  Just try it!
  2. Prismacolor pencils are super soft and you must be careful with this pencil.  The slightest pressure can break the tip of this pencil.
  3. With Gamsol, blending out the colors are super easy.

What’s a blog hop with out a giveaway!!!!!

GIVEAWAY : 12 GOODIE BAGS ! That’s TWELVE CHANCES TO WIN during the three day hop. The more you comment on each hoppers blog or instagram the more chances you have of winning. 1. I love using my Prismacolour pencils! Isn’t it great when you learn how to shade? And I always have my sharpener with me now. What nice images you found to colour! The paper looks great for coloured pencils.

    • Hey BunnyD!! I’m starting to love these pencils too. I bought them and use them once, wondered why I needed so many colors and put them away. I’m so glad I pulled them out. I’m learning so much by just playing with them. Yes, those images are perfect for this challenge and the paper have great tooth to it. I can’t wait to see what you create.

  2. I have the Spectrum Noir Colour Blend pencils and don’t use them enough either. I am going to use them at a crop this weekend!! Girl power, thank you for the kick in the pants lol.

    • Hey Sandie!! Yayyy!! I’m glad you were inspired. Yes, pull out those pencils and use them. That is why we bought them, right!!! I hope you have a great time at your crop this weekend. I’ve never been to one, I need to find one to attend.

    • Hey Michelle!! I’m so glad your learning. There are so many different mediums out there to color with that they can get lost in the shuffle. I hope you try all of the different techniques you see.

    • Hey Deb!! Thank you so much!! Awesome that you are a card maker too!! I make a lot of cards, sometimes I think I’m going to turn into one. LOL!! For this coloring challenge, I tend to just color small to medium images so that I can participate every day. If I get stuck on a card, it may deter me from finishing. So I hope I don’t disappoint you in any way. I can reassure you that I do post cards almost every day outside of this challenge!! Stop on by anytime and let me know what you think!!

  3. I pulled out my colored pencils and started coloring challenge with them as well. I am going to work with watercolors and handily with my pencils this month!

  4. WOW!! I love these!! I haven’t colored with my Prismacolor pencils in a while & you make me want to take them out again!! And I’ve only played with my Zig Clean Color Markers a few times!! You’ve really inspired me with those beautiful flowers!!

  5. Wow your colouring is so amazing.♥ I coloured some times with my polychromos from Faber Castell, but now i’m writing these Prismacolor pencils on my wishlist for christmas.☺
    Many hugs
    Angela

  6. I like your idea of choosing your coloring surface ahead of time (no stamped images, but instead using the printables). I think it helps to bring focus to a big project so you can get down to coloring.

  7. Those are beautiful flowers. Yes, please use your pencils more! Aren’t they easy with Gamsol to blend? And so fast ♥ I have the 72? set, not exactly sure. But the color swatching is brilliant to get them out and easily choose colors. After all these years, I finally made this swatch about 2 weeks ago. WAY better lol!!!!

  8. Great job on the coloring, Love my prisma pencils. good luck with you class I signed up for the free one they offer and have not had time yet to do one class.
