Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s January 2018 Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing the all of the new Dies. If you’ve arrived here from the talented Galina Filippenko blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!
Take a look at my Scrapbook Layout:
Back in December, I went to a Whole Food for lunch during a workshop I participated in Brooklyn. It was the closest place to eat so why not. I first stopped at the salad bar but thought it was to cold outside to eat salad. I notice they had a soup bar so I shared out a bowl of chicken noodle soup. I wan’t happy about it but there wasn’t anything I could do until I saw the Pop-Up Ramon Bar.
Right away I thought yes, this is going to be so good. I looked at the price and saw that the veggie soup was $8. Great, I can swing that. I asked for extra bean spouts and onions. The chief fixed me a nice soup. He handed me the soup and I walked to the counter.
The lady said $33.96, I almost went to the bathroom on myself. WHAT did you say? $33.96 for a soup? I played it cool and pulled out my credit card and paid for this meal that should’ve cost me no more then $10.
Despite the huge price tag, this meal was good. LOL!!!
For this layout, I’m using the new Simple Alpha Die!! The shape of these letters are perfect for scrapbooking. They create an amazing title which is what I created above.
Here’s how I created this Scrapbook Layout:
I used Altenew’s Mini Blossom Die and a piece of scrapbook paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection to cut out all of the letters for the title.
I used my We R Memory Keepers Typewriter to type the smaller title.
I secured each letter to the base page with foam tape so that they are raised higher then the photos.
Super easy and fun!!
Let’s take another look:
What is a blog hop without an amazing gift? Yayyy!!

Lovely layout with stunning colors. I do believe I would have had a heart attack over a $33 bowl of soup.
HOLY COW that was soup for a QUEEN!! Definitely needed a layout to document it:))
LOL…my mind is still boggling over the cost of your soup!
Cute layout – nice reminder to document memories from everyday life, love your Whole Foods story.
Such a cute page ..love the colors
Really cute!!!
Nice layout!
Boy someone sure made a big mistake on the price tag. Whole Foods is kind of expensive but not to that level.
I love the story that goes with the layout and that you were brave enough to scrap it. Super fun. TFS
Your whole foods story is so funny…and I love that you turned that experience into a scrapbook layout!! You are very talented and creative! Thanks so much for sharing this layout with us!!
Oh my goodness! I think I would have died if that would have been me. Your layout looks great.

It’s great when we choose to document not just the good days, but also the occasions when things go awry. Love the bright bold sentiment on you layout. Thanks for the inspiration.
Pretty expensive soup, but your layout is great with those alphabet dies!

Cute & fun layout! I can’t believe your soup was so expensive!
Fun scrapbook layouts! I often forget to scrap the non-people stuff of our lives too – great reminder. Love this alpha set – a perfect size for titles and it looks great with that Altenew paper. The letters seem to take on a fun life of their own in a way. Great job!

Lovely layout. And a very interesting story!
I love the fact that you thought to take pictures of your lunch along with the till receipt & then create a fun scrapbook layout. You are going to get some smiles when you look back at it over the years.
It’s great how you used a stop at a NY restaurant for the topic of your scrap book page. Love the idea. I have a picture of a menu from AZ I need to get into a page. Nice show case of the lettering.
I love the the colors of your letters. Amazing layout and yes I would have had a heart attack.
