Altenew Build-A-Flower Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s Build-A-Flower Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing the all of the different Build-A-Flower stamp sets Altenew carries. If you’ve arrived here from the talented Virginia Lu blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Take a look at my Scrapbook Planner Layout:

Blissful Bud

I used Altenew Blissful Bud stamp set!! I know its not named a Build-A-Flower stamp set but you do build these roses.

I decided to continue with scrapbooking in my planner because it’s doable and I love how my planner pages look day-to-day.

Have you ever worked with people that you truly loved? Have you worked with co-workers that you consider family? Well I have and I have to say that I miss them a lot. So I decided that I had to document them in my planner.  I meet these ladies 7 years ago when I return back to Bellevue to work. We’ve laughed together, cried together, brainstormed together, and encouraged one another. I miss them so much. They deserve a page in my planner!!

Here’s how I created this Planner Scrapbook Layout:

I’m using a Hobonichi Techo 2018 this year.  I love how small and compact it is. Scrapbooking in this planner is so easy because space is limited and I’m not required to fill a whole page.

Print the photo you want to use in your planner. The picture above was printed with the FijiFlim INSTAX Share SP-2 Smart Phone Printer.

Stamp the stem using Altenew Green Meadow ink set. Start with Altenew Just Green Crisp Dye Ink  then stamp the inner stem piece using Altenew Hunter Green Crisp Dye Ink.

Follow the steps to stamp the leaves using the same colors or the other two colors in the same Green Meadow set.

Blissful Bud

Now its time to stamp the rose bud.  Following the same steps as the stem, choose three different colors to build the rose bud. I used Altenew Tea Party Oval Set to build the rose bud.

Start from the lightest color to the darkest color. I started with Altenew Pink Pearl, then Coral Bliss and ended with Heart Beat.

Tea Party Ink Set

Once the rose are complete, its time to stamp the sentiments to go along with the photo. Along with the sentiment from Blissful Bud, I used a couple of sentiments from Altenew’s Beautiful Inside stamp set using Altenew Permanent Black Crisp Ink.

Complete the page with some journaling.

Let’s take another look:

Blissful Bud

I love knowing that I can open my planner and see this page.

  2. OMG I LOVE how you incorporated a stamped flower into your planner. I want to do that!! I love personalizing mine with stickers and doodles but that is a great idea. So inspiring. It’s also great because spring is only 21 days away and flowers are on my mind!

  3. I have always been into flowers in a big way on all my cards. I love making 3D flowers for my cards and trying to get them as realistic as possible. These Build-a-Flower stamp and die sets are amazing for detail and make it easy to create stunning flowers. I already own two sets and look forward to adding to my collection. Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration!

  4. Love all of the inspiration I’m finding in the blog hop! While I don’t scrapbook, I still love the colors and composition in your post

  5. All I can say is “JUST BEAUTIFUL”!! I love how you Incorporated these buds into your journal. Very inspirational. Thanks for sharing!

  6. I like how you did the darker colors of the sets vs. the lighter colors. And, of course, the star is that great picture. It makes me smile. Thanks for sharing a different way of using these stamps!

  7. Beautiful page in your planner and a great idea to stick a picture of loved ones in something you use everyday . It reminds you of wonderful memories and makes you grateful for the friendships you have. Love it!!

  8. What an absolute stunning way to use such a beautiful stamp and be able to see it every time you use your planner. Thank you for sharing.

  9. So fun and different! Love that you used the Blissful bud set for this build a flower hop! It seems perfect for decorating your planner pages! I would never have thought of it, but it’s an awesome idea! Thank you for the inspiration!

  10. Yes, I have worked with people who I consider family! We can go a tear or more without talking and then pick right up where we left off. Unfortunately she is much older than I am and is starting to forget people and things. It hurts to know that we may never have another conversation but I have many wonderful memories of our crazy antics in and out of work.
Your planner Scrapbook pages are a beautiful reminder for you! TFS!

  11. I like the flower in the planner. I’m not a planner person but I like how it came out. The colors are very nice. Thanks for showing us your planner and for giving us the chance to win something.
