Altenew Watercolor 36 Pan Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s Watercolor 36 Pan Set Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing Altenew’s Watercolor 36 Pan Set!  If you arrived here from the talented Nicole Picadura blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

This beautiful set of 36 vibrant watercolor half-pans coordinates perfectly with our line of ink. They are intensely pigmented, fade minimally when drying, and some colors have lovely granulating effects. They are stored in a convenient plastic case, designed with space for your brush (included) and a palette in the lid for mixing. Some of the case lids snap off upon opening and can easily snap back on after you are finished creating so you can store your mixed paints with the rest of the pan colors.

The set contains

  • 36 Artist Grade Watercolor Half-Pans

  • Plastic Case

  • Water Brush

Take a look at my Watercolor Traveler’s Notebook:

I recently took a vacation with my daughter to Cuba and it was amazing. The country is a must see. Although the infrastructure is on the decline, you can still see the beauty in the country. We had a blast and learned a lot.

I used the watercolor pan to add color to my pages that would match the colors in the photos.

I love how the watercolors mix and move across the paper. The interesting thing is, I used linen paper and it did well with the watercolors.  I was surprised. The colors are vibrant and smooth.

Let’s take a look inside:

The left photo is in Plaza de la Revolucion. The faces on the building are of Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos, who are two important deceased heroes of the Cuban Revolution.

The right photo is of the port of Havana. So pretty!

  1. It’s the last place on my list of places to go, but it looks like you had a wonderful trip. I like the way the w/c creates a unifying element through your book of memories. (I should have done something like this years ago; maybe I’d actually remember some of my memories better!!!) Thank you.

  2. What a fun trip! I adore the way that you painted the pages before adding the photos. Beautiful job. Makes me want to get out some of my old photos and give it a whirl. TFS!

  3. Thank you for sharing your travels with us, it looks like a fun place to explore and learn about another culture. I love how you used the watercolors to enhance the pages of your journal, beautiful!

  4. Such a lovely way to preserve all those lovely memories. Love that you co-ordinated the colours with the photos. Will have to try this after my next trip.

  5. Oh Cuba, how I hope to visit someday! I am obsessed with travel mini-books so I am totally in love with yours! You have inspired me to use watercolors on my next book. Thanks!

  6. Love this Kymona. Loved seeing your pics. Looks like you and your daughter had fun. We are going to Cuba next year. My husband & I have never been there but our son & DIL have many times and love it. The taxi made me laugh as last year when my son & DIL went, their taxi was a horse and buggy! They actually were run off the road into a ditch and the police were called. LOL THEY ARE STILL LAUGHING ABOUT IT!

  7. I love the watercolour set! The colours are so vibrant yet subtle. I would love to travel more and create a similar journal for all the places I visit! What a memorable keepsake to flip through on a rainy day! Thanks for sharing!

  8. Love your journal, another new tip/ technique to use. Loving this release! Thanks for sharing your talents. On linen paper that’s awesome!

  9. I adore the little travel memory booklet you made featuring your trip. The way you incorporated the watercolours added so much to it.

  10. I love these pages. When I think of how much I’ve spent on scrapbook paper, not to mention the stress of coordinating pages… This is such a beautiful and unique way to create unique scrapbook pages.

  11. I love your scrapbook pages! What a great idea to watercolor the backgrounds! They make the pictures come alive!

  12. This is a fab way to document our journey. The bright splashes of colour are the perfect complement to your lovely pictures.

  13. I have always wanted to travel to Cuba, but Australia is so far away. Thanks for your gorgeous use of stamps and watercolours in your album. Truly lovely
