Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s Crafty Friends Blog Hop!! Today we are celebrating our unique community by sharing a project inspired by our favorite crafter or an anecdote about our crafting adventures. If you arrived here from Scrapbook & Cards Today blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Scrapbook Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!
Take a look at my fabric scrapbook:
I sooo love this little fabric scrapbook album. I started 20 years ago when my son was born. I stopped after a couple of years and then fell in love with card-making. Recently, I discovered sewing and I can’t stop sewing, LOL!
For this project I decided to combine my love of all things crafty to share with you, my crafty friends!!
Here’s how I created this scrapbook album:
Decide on the fabric and cut two 7in squares. I used Adornit Vintage Polka Dot Yellow fabric.
Decide on the ribbon that would be used to close the album. I used Adornit Brown Polka Dot Ribbon.
You can hand stitch or machine stitch the ribbon to the back of one of the fabric squares.
Cut two 5inch pieces of white cardstock and adhere it the center of the wrong side of the fabric.
Using fabric glue, glue all of the side to the center of the paper.
Do this to both piece of fabric.
Cut two piece of cardstock 5 x 12 and score them 4 and 8 giving you 3 panels. Fold on the score lines and adhere the two pieces together to create an accordion look.
Adhere the back and front of the accordion to the front and back of the fabric pieces to create the album.
It should look like this.
After you assemble the scrapbook, its time to decorate it!
Add stickers to each page, leaving space for a photo. The photos can vary in size up to 3.5 x 3.5.
Close the book, string the chipboard onto the ribbon and tie a pretty bow.
Let’s take another look:
What is a blog hop without an amazing gift? Yayyy!!

Great idea with the use of the fabric for a cover!

What a great idea to use fabric! So fun! Love the polka dots and the book idea!
I just *KNEW* when I saw your name in the list for the blog hop that you would do something different, and oh yes you did! I love this project. Years and years and years ago I made a little accordion folded card for a few close friends, using origami paper to make the covers and pictures of our little family inside – this reminded me of that, and inspires me to try it again, as that was before I developed a passion for paper crafting. I love that your used fabric for the covers and inspires me to use the small leftovers I have to make something like this – thank you!
Super cute…you are a paper engineer!!
Will fit inside my purse. Will be a conversation starter
when I pull it out to show off my pictures. Will give
me a chance to be creative. A win-win project.
thanks for sharing
