Canvas Art using a PenBlade

Hello everyone!!  Kymona here with a different sort of project for you today.  As a matter of fact, this whole week I will be show you how to use PenBlades to create different projects!!

Are you ready?

Today I will show you have to create canvas art using a penblade.

penblade 1

Here are the tools you will need:

Penblade 3

  1. A couple of canvases
  2. One PenBlade (sizes 10, 11, 15)
  3. One stencil that will fit inside the canvas.

Here is how I created the canvas art:

I turned the canvas upside down and taped the stencil on the inside of the canvas.

Penblade 5

Then I used the PenBlade to cut out all of the arrows in the pattern. The tip on this blade is the perfect size for this stencil. It fits right into the small spaces.

penblade 4

Once all of the arrows are cut out then I removed the stencil and turn the canvas over to inspected it.

Super easy to do.  The PenBlade glided through the canvas material with ease.

I could help but to make more then one.

Penblade 2

I like the one on the right better.  If you take a close look at the one on  the left, I cut to close to the wood backing.  Once I add a pop of color behind it you will not see the wood backing.

So what do you think?  Would you give this a try? I would love to hear from you.

Wait before I go, the women over at PenBlade, were gracious enough to give us a coupon code to use.  The code is KK20

I hope everyone will take advantage of this code.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Take a look:

FullSizeRender (2)
I said OMG, this is beautiful!! I had to look further!!  When I arrived on their Instagram feed, I was impressed. I started following them immediately. Then I went over to their website and learned more about them.  I loved the story behind how they started and I was tickled when I found out how they came up with their name.

A week later, Angie one of the owners contacted me and invited me to be a guest designer.  I was over the top excited!!! I read the email a couple of times before I responded!! I said YES and here we are today.

Before I share my cards, Greg and Angie wanted to say hello:

“Hello from Concord & 9th! We are excited to be partnering with Kymona on this special blog post. We stumbled upon one of Kymona’s cards, checked out her blog and fell in love with her style – we love clean and simple, and we LOVE watercoloring!

Concord & 9th was formed by Greg & Angie whose paths crossed 5 years ago in the corporate craft world. We realized we both have a passion for the craft industry. Greg studied product design and business, then headed into a career in product development. Angie has been an avid paper crafter for 15 years, with a focus on stamps, inky fingers and product development. So, we sat down and came up with a plan to start our dream jobs! The name Concord & 9th is an intersection of where we live. Greg lives on Concord, Angie lives off 9th. We loved the idea of our paths crossing, taking a new route in life and intersecting with other crafters and designers, like YOU, so we made our logo have a street sign vibe.

Our aim is to keep products fresh & trendy for you, so we decided to offer new product releases on the 9th of each month (see what we did there?). We are excited about the response to our new shop so far and for what we have in the works. We tend to get too excited to wait for the 9th so we sneak products leading up to the 9th.

We are SO glad our paths crossed with Kymona’s, and look forward to crossing paths with you too! Come take a ride with us on all the fun social media outlets (links on our homepage) so we can keep in touch!”
