Second post for today
Hello everyone!!! I’m excited today. I was asked again to participate in The Ton’s Summer 2016 Release Blog Hop!! Yayyyy!!
If you arrived here from the talented Keeway blog then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, you will want to start at the beginning, The Ton blog, as to not miss any of the amazing projects!
Lets jump in:
For my first card: I used the The Ton Graceful Rose stamp set and I have to tell you this stamp is so pretty!! The rose is so life like!! When I first saw that stamp set and was deciding what I wanted to do, it came to me to leave the rose as is and color my background. That’s what I did.
I simple stamped the image and then added some Masking Fluid to keep my flower nice and white. I was so excited to use this fluid because I’ve had it and never used it.
Here is happens when you don’t wait for the masking fluid dry. I thought I waited long enough but apparently not. So I had to start all over.
I fuss cut out the rose and created my own mask as to not make a mistake again.
Once the mask was down on my cardstock, I used Distress Ink Abandon Coral, Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry to color the background around the flower.
I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Black Ink.
Totally beautiful!!
For card number 2: I used The Ton Sparklers Alpha stamp set!!
I love when alpha stamps are so nicely place on their storage sheet. They are super easy to stamp right on your cardstock.
This stamp set has sprinkles and a heart in the right places. I moved the x,y, z over a bit but that’s it.
I inked up the letters with Versamark ink and turned my card panel upside down onto the stamp.
I added white embossing powder then I heat set the letters.
Then I started with the lightest color in the center blending out to the darker color on the outsides.
I used a glitter sun frame from Crate Paper to highlight the word HI!
I adhered this card panel to a black card base to finish this card off!
Finished!! What do you think? I love both cards using both of these stamp sets. Such a great way to bring in the Summer!! Full of color!!!
Let me know what you think below!! I would love to hear from you.
Your next stop on this hop is the super talented Michelle!! You will love what she has come up with.

I love the rose image and the way you used it. I’m totally inspired.
Wow this is so pretty! Reminds me of the rose from beauty and the beast for some reason!
That masked flower is so striking and I love the sun around the hi!
Kymona – your card is impressive and the very epitome of delightful and your sun card is outta this world!!
Just stunning. Love the colors and the sparkle. And love the idea of using the whole alphabet and just circling out “hi.” Very creative and Very pretty.
Love the colors on your cards.
Hi Kymona ~ I had to laugh….I’ve had the liquid masking fluid for a long time too but still haven’t used it. I guess I’ll need to let it dry for quite awhile…thanks for that tip!! Your cards are both gorgeous and you know I really love your CAS style, especially with the Distress Inks. Clever use of the glitter paper to hi-lite the word “HI” on your second card and to simply ink up the alphabet right on the plastic sheet (I was wondering how you got the letters so darn straight!!). Thanks for the tips and tricks….love both your cards. ~HUGS~
I’ve never tried masking fluid, it looks simple to use and with the perfect results you got with your card, I must try it!! And love your blended colours for your alphabet card, they look gorgeous together!!
Wow!!! You are super creative with that alphabet card!!! Super genius and I love the colors you chose for that card. And I’m w/ you on the masking – I cannot use masking fluid to save my life. I find it easier to use masking paper. Your masked rose is just gorgeous against that pink/red/purple background.
Oh I love the idea of the white flower on a colorful background!
Love your negative tech. Thanks for sharing
Lovely cards! How creative to leave the rose white and watercolor the background! I love how the sun emphasizes “HI” on the second card.
Oh, what amazingly BEAUTIFUL cards – simply awe-inspiring!! I love the technique you used – will need to try that!
Amazing cards, very creative and absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you!
What a fun way of coloring the outside the image! I never try masking fluid, but I might 🙂 Gorgeous cards, Kymona!
