{Clean and Simple} CASology 211 – Dream

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Clean and Simple Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card:

Week 211 - Dream

Take a look at my card:

Dream (CAS)

When I saw this week’s cue card, I knew right away that I wanted to use Neat and Tangled Making Waves – Nice and Neat Dies.  I love how the clouds are particle cut out of the card stock.

Creating this card was a breeze.  I die cut the front of the white Bristol Smooth card panel using the Making Waves Die. Then I used a pencil to outline the circle, so that I knew where to apply the distress ink.  I started with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass to create the sky.  Then I came in with Distress Ink Broken China to darken it just a bit closer to the top of the sky.  After that I used Distress Ink Forest Moss to create the ground.

Once all of the colors were down, I applied tumbled glass again over the entire scene to lighten the sky and the grass.  Once I was satisfied with the way the scene looked, I used Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script Stamp Set and Clearsnap Colorbox Wicked Archival Ink to stamp the cue card word.

Then I placed a couple of dimensionals on the back of the card panel and placed it on top of the card base. Perfect!!!

I truly love how this card turned out. I think is absolutely perfect for this challenge. What do you think?

Distress Techniques Day 1

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with some distress tags from the Creative Chemistry 103 class.

I have to thank my design team member for encouraging me to take this 3rd class by Tim Holtz.  I’ve taken the first two back when they came in 2012 and 2013, and wasn’t sure what I would learn in this class that would be different.

I have to admit, I’ve learned quit a bit.  So I’m thankful for the push.

Day one we learned a couple of different techniques!!

Here are a couple of them:

  1. Distress DIY Ombre – my butterfly tags
  2. Distress Highlight Stamping – the face card and the leaf tag
  3. Distress Off-Set Stamping – the flower card

Distress Tags 1

I love how these tags turned out.  I can’t wait to see what the other days will bring.

  2. Then I used Distress Ink Wild Honey and Scattered Straw and applied ink using an ink blending tool.
  3. I started in the bottom right hand corner with wild honey and move my way up the card getting lighter with scattered straw.
  4. Then I stamped the sentiments from a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set with Clearsnap Colorbox Archival Wicked Dye Ink.

Super simple and easy!!!

Sooooo, what do you think? Please let me know below.

Successful woman (TIMI)

I love this So Suzy Stamps sentiment!!  It speaks volumes for women.  Such a confident booster!!

To create this card was simple:

  1. This is an A2 card size, 4.25 by 5.50, scored at 5.50. This card has a card front as well. Cut to the same size as the base of the card.
  2. Run the top of the card front through the Sizzix Big Shot Plus using the Stampin’ Up! Brick Wall Embossing Folder.
  3. Then run the bottom of the card front through the Big Shot again.  Leaving space for the sentiment.
  4. Stamp the sentiment using Versafine Black Ink.
  5. Using Distress Ink Mini Antique Linen blend some of the color over the embossed brick wall with the Mini Ink Blending Tools, for a realistic feel.

The Ton’s Summer 2016 Release Blog Hop

Second post for today

Hello everyone!!!  I’m excited today. I was asked again to participate in The Ton’s Summer 2016 Release Blog Hop!! Yayyyy!!

the ton

If you arrived here from the talented Keeway blog then you are on the right track.  If you arrived here on your own, you will want to start at the beginning, The Ton blog, as to not miss any of the amazing projects!

Lets jump in:

For my first card: I used the The Ton Graceful Rose stamp set and I have to tell you this stamp is so pretty!!  The rose is so life like!!  When I first saw that stamp set and was deciding what I wanted to do, it came to me to leave the rose as is and color my background.  That’s what I did.

Beautiful (The Ton)

I simple stamped the image and then added some Masking Fluid to keep my flower nice and white. I was so excited to use this fluid because I’ve had it and never used it.

Adding masking fluid

Here is happens when you don’t wait for the masking fluid dry.  I thought I waited long enough but apparently not.  So I had to start all over.

Mistake

I fuss cut out the rose and created my own mask as to not make a mistake again.

cutting out image

Once the mask was down on my cardstock, I used Distress Ink Abandon Coral, Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry to color the background around the flower.

I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Black Ink.

Totally beautiful!!

Beautiful (The Ton)

For card number 2: I used The Ton Sparklers Alpha stamp set!!

Hi (The Ton)

I love when alpha stamps are so nicely place on their storage sheet.  They are super easy to stamp right on your cardstock.

This stamp set has sprinkles and a heart in the right places. I moved the x,y, z over a bit but that’s it.

I inked up the letters with Versamark ink and turned my card panel upside down onto the stamp.

I added white embossing powder then I heat set the letters.

Then I started with the lightest color in the center blending out to the darker color on the outsides.

I used a glitter sun frame from Crate Paper to highlight the word HI!

I adhered this card panel to a black card base to finish this card off!

Finished!!  What do you think?  I love both cards using both of these stamp sets.  Such a great way to bring in the Summer!! Full of color!!!

Let me know what you think below!!  I would love to hear from you.

CS Take It Make It: Watercoloring with Inks

Hello everyone!! I’m here with CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Challenge Inspiration for June.

Our theme is Take a Technique: Lets Get Inky!!

For this month’s challenge the technique we would like you to use more then one type of ink on your project (ink pads, ink sprays, stains, acrylic inks, etc.)  Or more then one color of ink on your project…and don’t forget to include stamping somewhere too!!

This should be super fun to see what you come up with.

Take a look at my card:

Truth (CS Take It Make It)

My new Alex and Ani Art Infusion Feather bracelet is the inspiration for my card this week. When I saw this bracelet, I knew I had to have it.  Its purple and the feather was so pretty.  I immediately wanted to make a card that represented my bracelet.

I stamped the feather from Papertrey Ink What the Doodle: Feather Mini Stamp Set using Versafine Ink.

Then I sprinkled Colorbox Sterling Silver Embossing Powder and heat set it.

Then I used Distress Ink Seedless Preserve to watercolor the feather and the card. I heat set the card then colored more ink on top give the different saturation of this pretty purple color.

Once the card dried, I stamped the sentiment using Concord and 9th Sophisticated Script stamp set using Versafine Black Ink.

The feather represents Truth, Light, and Virtue!!

“Keep Your Heart Light” is what the motto!

So what do you think? I love how this card turned out.

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for June: PaperArtsy!

The Ton Spring 2016 Blog Hop

Second Post for today
If your looking for CS Take It Make It Inspiration Post, click here

Hello everyone!!  I’m super excited today.  I was asked to participate in The Ton’s Spring 2016 Release Blog Hop!!!  Yayyyyyy!!

Screen Shot 2016-04-05 at 7.04.16 AM

I was totally siked when Effie reached out to me and asked if I would like to hop along with her team.  I jumped at the opportunity to work with her fabulous team.

Enough about my excitement, lets get started on this hop!! If you arrived here from the talented Eunji blog then you are on the right track.  If you arrived here on your own, you will want to start at the beginning, The Ton blog, as to not miss any of the amazing projects!

I’ve created two cards for this awesome hop.

Card Number One:

Happy Birthday (ton outside)

When I first saw this Bokeh Burs Star stamp set, I fell in love.  Such a pretty stamp set with so many things that you can do with it.

I knew it would look super pretty embossed with some distress inks blended on top.

Here is how this card was created:

  1. Stamp the image using Versamark ink in the center of the Recollection White Heavyweight cardstock.
  2. Apply Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on top of the stamp image and heat set. This will resist the ink that will be added on top.
  3. Lay your card flat on your table and start applying your first distress ink Mustard Seed.  Tap off before you apply your first coating of ink.
  4. Then blend the next color, Spiced Marmalade, to create a pretty blend between the two colors.
  5. Next blend the last color, Festive Berries, to create a contrast between the other colors.  Together all three of them are amazing.
  6. Make sure you cover all of the white embossing powder with the distress ink so that everything pops.
  7. Now you can stamp the sentiment in the center of the star using Versafine Ink for a clear, crisp impression.
  8. To finish the front of the card off, add several Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequin randomly.

I hardly ever stamp the inside of my cards.  I decided that this card would totally rock, with a sentiment on the inside.

Happy Birthday (ton inside)

Use Versafine ink again to stamp the sentiment for a crisp, clear impression.

What do you think?  Isn’t this set fabulous!! I think so!!

Card Number Two:

hello (ton)

Isn’t this just fabulous!!  This stamp set is called Brushed Hello.  I love everything about this card.  From the background to the “HELLO” sentiment. Everything about this card screams BOLD!!!  I love it.

Here is how to create this card:

  1. Tape down the Clarity Stencil to the cardstock so that it lays flush over the paper.
  2. Select two-three colors to blend.  The colors used above Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon.
  3. Use the Clarity Stencil Brushes to blend the colors over the stencil.
  4. Check out the video below on how I achieved that look. Its a 5 minute video from start to finish in real time.

  1. Trim the blended cardstock down to the desired size.
  2. Stamp the Hello sentiment from the Brushed Hello stamp set using Versafine Black Ink. Then stamp another sentiment if you like.
  3. Add rhinestones to finish the card front off.
  4. Adhere the card front to your cardbase using Tombow Stamp Runner Adhesive.

Finished!!  What do you think?  I love both cards using both of these stamp sets.  Such a great way to bring in Spring!!

Let me know what you think below!!  I would love to hear from you.

Your next stop on this hop is the super talented Mayline!!  You will want to see what she has come up with.

Next in line was Distress Ink Fossilized Amber. I took my time and tried to blend the colors with ease.

After that, was Distress Ink Cracked Pistachio. Always moving in a circular motion.

Moving right along, up next is Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon.

Super cool effect!

Then I used Simon Says Stamp Painted Enjoy Die and cut out 4 enjoy’s.  I glued them together and adhered it to the front of the card.

I added Clear Wink of Stella to the sentiment and finished the card off with a couple of Stampin’ Up! rhinestones.
