If you arrived here from the talented Jaycee Gaspar blog, then you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog.

Let’s take a look at my calendar stencil work:

Bubble Wrap Stencil

I love decorating my blank wall calendar the way that I want to. It is so much fun to look at each day.

Here’s how I decorated this calendar:

Tape down the stencil down where you want the design. I used the new Bubble Wrap Stencil.

Decorating wall calendar with stencils

Use a blender brush to add the colors you would like. I used Altenew’s Golden Sunset for this project.

Bubble wrap stencil

Stencil the entire page the way you want. Leaving some areas untouched for stamping.

Mega Greeting 4

I used the Mega Greetings 4 stamp set to decorate the page, along with Altenew New Day Card Kit Wood Veneer Frames.

Let’s take another look:

Altenew May 2019 Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew’s May 2019 Stencil Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing the new stencils.  If you arrived here from the talented Laurie Willison blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Let’s take a look at my wall calendar:

Illusion Spiral Stencil

Wow, I love this calendar page! I used the Illusion Spiral Stencil for this amazing effect. I was playing around with it and decided to try it on my wall calendar. I’m glad I did.

Decorating this wall calendar page was a breeze. Adhere the stencil where you want the image with purple tape and add color with a blending tool. Nothing to it.

My style is clean and simple so adding only two spirals that looks different allowed me to maintain that style.

To add texture, I add a couple of acetate die cut butterflies, green fields enamel dots and stamped a sentiment from the fancy greeting stamp set.

Altenew April 2019 Washi Tape/Embossing Paste Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to Altenew’s April 2019 Washi Tape/Embossing Paste Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing the new washi tape and embossing paste.  If you arrived here from the talented Alex Syberia blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Let’s take a look at my planner page:

Embossing Paste

I love decorating my planner with card making supplies. Altenew’s new Embossing Paste looks amazing on these pages.

Here’s how I created the two-tone color butterfly:

Embossing Paste

Scoop out a small amount of the embossing paste on a piece of disposable plastic (I used a zip bag, it was on my desk).

Then I added a small amount of color from the Puffy Heart Ink Spray and Sunkissed Metallic Shimmer Ink spray to the embossing paste and mixed it in.

Place the Flowing Butterfly Stencil where you want the image and apply the color paste evenly.

Gently pick up the stencil to see the image.

Embossing Paste

Stamp the sentiment from the Reason to Smile stamp set above and/or below the image.

Embossing Paste

Let’s take another look:

Embossing Paste

I also created a bookmark for my planner as well, using the same method as before.

Embossing Paste

Here’s a close up. Look at that texture and depth.

Altenew January 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s January 2019 Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing all of the new stamps, dies, and stencils.  If you arrived here from the talented Rubeena Ianigro blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Take a look at my 4 x 8 scrapbook album:

Mask Stenciling

I returned from Creativation 2019 two days ago and had so much fun seeing all of my crafty friends. It inspired me to create an album dedicated to them.

Here’s how I created this album:

I stenciled a couple of flower stems from Altenew’s Angelique Motifs Mask Stencil with Forest Glades Ink unto a white piece of cardstock.

Then I stamped the sentiment from Altenew Mega Greeting 3 using black ink.

After that I adhered the Simple Friend Die cut right next to the stamped sentiment.

Use We R Memory Keepers Cinch and Rose Gold binding wire to bind the album together.

Friend Die

Super easy and done. Now I can’t wait to fill it with photos.

Here’s another photo using the same stencil:

Altenew Masking Stencil

I facilitated a banner scrapbook make-n-take at Creativation this year at the Altenew booth. It was so cool. Everyone one loved working with the stencils. They saw how easy it was to create a simple but stunning design in under minutes.

Clean and Simple Cards using Heffy Doodle Stamps

Hello everyone!! Kymona here with some clean and simple cards using Heffy Doodle Stamps!

For those of you who do not know or haven’t heard of Heffy Doodle let me give you some history!

Heffy Doodle produces high quality, versatile stamps and dies for the crafting world. Lesley Oman, aka Hungry Heffy is the companies creative and energetic founder. Lesley’s husband Craig tried to convince Lesley to turn her doodles into stamps, but she was way to busy making cards to listen. It was July 2017, when Lesley realized her husband had a great idea and hence Heffy Doodle was born!!!

Take a look at some of the goodies you can find in their online shop:

Let’s take a look at my clean and simple cards:

For the first card, I used the Numicon Stencil to create a very colorful background for a unique birthday card.

Stamping the sentiment from the Big Bold Words Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and then embossing it with Silver Embossing Powder packs a powerful punch.

For the second card, I simple die cut both the Hey and Honey die out of glitter paper and adhered it to the card front.

Super simple and easy.

Both cards turned out beautiful! They didn’t require much work either. They can be reproduce over and over in no time.

I hope you check out the other stamps, dies and goodies from Heffy Doodle. Let me know what you think of these clean and simple cards and the products I shared with you today.

Altenew July 2018 Stencil Release Blog Hog

Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s July 2018 Stencil Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing all of the new Stencil.  If you arrived here from the talented Dana Gong blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Take a look at my Mini Traveler’s Notebook:

Molded Lines Stencil

Let me introduce to you the Molded Lines Stencil!! I love this stencil because it reminds me of the Continental Airlines who merged with United Airlines in 2012.

My daughter and I are traveling out of the country this month and can’t wait to document our trip. I created a mini traveler’s notebook so that we could document our great adventure each day.

Not only did I decorate the cover but the backside as well.

Molded Lines Stencil

To do that you simple turn the stencil over so that the lines go in the same direction. Super cool!

I added stickers from the Reflection Collection Paper & Sticker Sheet and stamped the sentiment from the Reflection Collection Mini Stamp Set.

Let the vacation begin!!

Mono Prints with a Gel Press Plate

Second Post for Today
If your looking for the Best Blogger Contest 2017 Finalist post, click here.

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today sharing my mono prints that I created with a gel press plate!!

I was introduce to Gel Press Plates at Creativation!! I watched Marybeth Shaw, the founder of StencilGirl Products, demonstrate how to use them!! She made me laugh with this quote, “It’s Not Done Yet”, she was referring to her plate that still had paint on it, even after she created a bunch of backgrounds.  I was tickled.  So when I arrived home I had to pick one up.

Now I have 4 different plates and still want more!!  LOL!!

Take a look at what I created today:

I played with February 2017 Mandalas, Circle and Spheres Collection by Maria McGuire stencil along with Vicki Boutin Arylic Paints Set 2.

I love the results that you get when you use the gel press plate and stencils.  You will never get the same print twice.  That is the beauty of this technique.

Check out what I created with this print:

I totally love this!! This card turned out perfect!!

I’m entering this card into the Muse Challenge #214. Anita Bowden is the Muse this week, check out her card:

I did not see her card until after I created my prints.  So I was inspired by the press plate, the paints and the stencil.  My card just so happen to fall right in line with Anita’s.  Thats creativity at its best to me.

So what do you think?  Please let me know below!!

Stamping with a Gel Press Plate – a2z Scrapbooking March 2017 Challenge

Second Post for Today
If your looking for Rubber Dance Stamp Challenge post, click here

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with a a2z Scrapbooking Challenge. The theme this month is Playing with Stencils!!

playing-with-stencils

Take a look at my card:

stencil-hello-a2z

I had so much fun this weekend playing with my Gel Press Plate that I had to create a card using it.  I added paint to the gel press using a brayer.  Then I placed the plate on top of the card front.  After that, I placed the stencil on top of the gel plate.  Then I added the ink on top of the stencil using a brayer.  I removed the stencil and placed the gel plate on top of the card front creating a textured look on the card front. Then I die cut the sentiment hello out of white cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

Pretty cool!

What do you think? I would love to hear what you think below.

I hope you love what you see and that it inspires you to join us this month. You have the entire month to create a new project and enter it into our challenge. By entering you will have a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store. Winner will be announced on the 7th of April.  Good Luck!

Holiday Gift Coaster Tiles

handmade-holidays-banner

Hello everyone!!  I’m super excited about participating in the 6th Annual Handmade Blog Hop!! This is my first year participating and I have to say I had so much fun creating my handmade gift.

The Handmade Holiday Blog Hop goal is to inspire you to create something from the heart this holiday season for your loved ones.  All of the participates have chosen projects that are easy to do with products that you use everyday or new products that you’ve never thought of using before.

The blog hop spans over three days, November 8th, 9th and 10th!!  Today is day 2 and its all about Holiday Decor Ideas!!

I created a set of coasters for my brother and his soon to be wife. They are about to get married and I wanted to give them a gift from my heart.

Take a look at my coasters:

kt-purple-coaster-final

I love how these coasters turned out!!  The purple and white look so good together.

Let me show you how I created these coasters:

Gather all of the supplies needed for this project.

kt-coaster-supplies

Select the two colors you want to mix in order to create a unique color. For this project DecoArt Americana Decor Chalky Finish for Glass Treasure and Romance were used.

Make sure you use the right ratio to achieve the color you want. For this purple color, mix 3 part Treasure and 1 part Romance.

kt-coaster-paint-mixing

Paint each of the tiles with long even strokes. One coat at a time covering the entire tile.

kt-painting-the-coaster

Give each tile a total of 3 coats each for a super smooth finish.

kt-completed-painted

Once the paint dries, its time to add the letter you want on the coasters.  Simple place the stencil on top of the title and use Colorbox Frost White Pigment Ink with a sponge dauber.

kt-stenciled-coasters-final

Once the pigment ink dries, it takes awhile, you can add Americana Decor Light Satin Varnish as a top coat to seal the top of the coaster.

To finish the coasters off, cut a couple of pieces of cork and adhere them to the bottom of the coaster in the four corners. This will prevent the coaster form sliding on different surfaces.

kt-adding-cork

Here’s a close-up:

kt-coaster-close-up

Wrap the coasters with some ribbon and tie a bow.  Place these coasters in a box and this handmade gift is ready to go.

Coasters in action:

The clean up was super easy.  Water washes the paint off of the palette and out of the brushes.

So what do you think?  Please let me know below!  I would love to hear what you think and if you will give this project a try.
