I love giving gifts to my staff. They totally appreciate all of my handmade goodies. The same is true to any new staff that comes on board.

When new staff arrives, I love to give them gifts as well. This notebook is a perfect gift. Each of my staff members and I write a welcome note on each of the pages and we present it to the newest team member as a way of saying welcome.

Top Dog Die – DIY Kids Book

Hello eveyone!!!  It’s Top Dog Dies Wednesday!!!

Today I’m working with the Top Dog Dies Pocket Page Banner Die Set and the Top Dog Dies Vintage Alphabet Die.  I’m back again with another DIY Book, this time for my niece!!

Take a look:

TDD Book

My niece is learning her sight words, so I thought this little book would help her out.  Its small enough for her to carry and its super pretty for her to show it off to her friends, LOL!!

Lets take a look at my desktop after I cut out all of my letters:

TDD

My daughter loved die cutting these letter out using my Big Shot.  She thinks that machine is super cool!!

Lets take a look inside:

TDD Book 4

TDD book 1

I included a lot of common words that she should know.

Lets look at how many pages are inside:

TDD Book 3

TDD Book 2

I wanted the book to be super CAS (clean and simple) since I want her to focus on the words and not the design.

How I created this mini book:

  1. I used the Top Dog Die Pocket Page Banner die and die cut out 15 pages out of my cardstock.
  2.  Then I used the Top Dog Die Vintage Alphabet Die to cut out 5 pages of letters so that I had enough to make a couple words with the same letters.
  3. After that I used my We R Memory Keepers Cinch to punch the holes in the pages and bind them.
  4. Once the mini book was bound, I added the words to the pages using my Xyron Create a Sticker Tool.
  5. To finish off the book, I added ribbon to the spine for a little girly flavor!!

My nieces is going to love it!!

So what do you think?  Please let me know below!!

Do You Have Petal Power?

Hello everyone, I guess your asking yourself what is petal power?  Guess what I was wondering the same thing.  I thought it was a cute title so I decided to go with it.  LOL, LOL!!!

No for real, petal power is when a flowers petal stand out from the rest of the flower.  What do you think?

Well my notebook today, has petal power.  The petals are so vibrant and rich, I just love it.

Papertrey Ink’s  Make It Monday #167 Challenge is DIY Notebooks!  Yes, notebooks.  So cute and irrepressible.  I couldn’t wait to participate.

Take a look at my Mini Notebook with tear out pages:

Mini Notebook

Mini Notebook side

This mini notebook was so easy to make, I just love it.

Here’s how:

1.  I cut all of my card stock and back chip board to 2-3/4 by 4-1/4.

2. I stamped “read this” sentiment from PTI’s Clip Tips on all of my colored card stock inside my notebook.

3. I stamped my flowers, butterflies and hello sentiment on my front cover.

4. I attached a piece of pattern paper to the top of the cover and to the back of the book with glue.  The pattern paper will hold all of my pages together.

5. I added double-side adhesive to the middle of the pattern paper.

6. I made sure all of the pages of my books were attached to the adhesive.

7. Then I used my hand to crease the front and back of the book.  All of the inside pages should be adhered to the double-sided tape.

WALA, your book is made and ready to use! The double-sided tape allows you to tear the pages out of the book and put it back.

Isn’t that amazing!
