Art Journaling Series – Imagine

Hello everyone!!  I’m starting a new series on my blog called the Art Journaling Series!!  I’m having so much fun with paints and stencils that I want to do more and share more!! I will try and post at least once a month for now but we will see how this goes!!

I posted a page yesterday, if you didn’t see it, you can check it out here.

Let take a look at my new page:

art journaling

Here’s how I created this page:

  1. I applied different size washi tape to my 8 x 10 Gel Press Plate.
  2. Then I randomly added Vicki Boutin Acrylic Paint in yellow and orange on top of the washi tape plate.
  3. I used a brayer to even out the paint.
  4. Once the plate was covered, I remove the washi tape, leaving the pattern you see above.
  5. After the paint dried, I used some stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop (Mini Ledger, Mini Time for Love, and Mini Specimens) and Liquitex Black Gesso to add the different marking on the page.
  6.  To finish the page off, I stamped Visible Image Face It! and Imagine Dream Inspire stamps using Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink.

I totally love how this page turned out.  I thought about writing on this page but it didn’t need it at all.

I’m linking my page up to Craft Stampers Take It Make It Challenge this month.

Exciting right!!  It sure is for me!!

The DT Dare Challenge this month is Stripes!!  The design team was asked to create a project using one of the new stamp sets from the March release.  I went with the new From the Heart Stamp set and some Recollection ColorSplash washi tape for my project.

Take a look at my project:

Love Happiness Life (YNS)

To create this card, I added the washi tape to the card front first to create the strips, then stamped the sentiment. Nothing to it.

Such a great way to use the washi tape you have on hand.  This was just perfect because this stamp set has the word happiness in it so I just replaced it with the washi tape.

What do you think?  Please let me know below.

Super simple and easy.

{Clean and Simple} CASology 191 – Washi

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Clean and Simple Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is:

Week 191 - Washi

Take a look at my card:

Washi (CAS)

I’m so tickled by my card.  I love how the numbers look like they come with the newsprint on them.  Its Washi Tape!! I used Tim Holtz’s Symphony Tissue Tape and Penny Black By The Number Die.

To create this card:

  1. Add 5 strips of washi tape to white cardstock.
  2. Use the die cut to cut the washi cover cardstock.
  3. Adhere the die cut to the cardbase using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue.

Nice and simple!

I was having so much fun, that I had to create another card.

Enjoy Washi (CAS)

This time I used some new watercolor washi tape that I picked up from Michaels. I love this tape.  So super pretty. I have to say that I’m super luck to have this set of washi tape.  I hear everyone saying they can’t find these.  I might have to search them out and pick up another for a giveaway, maybe!!

washi

To create this card:

  1. Add two strips of tape on the bottom of my card base.
  2. Use Simon Says Stamp Painted Enjoy Die to cut one word out.
  3. Adhere it right above the washi tape with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue.

Nice and easy clean and simple card!!

What do you think?  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Now take a look at my take of this photo:

Be Mine Milk Cartoon

Here is how I created these mini milk cartoons for my daughter’s class:

  1. I used retired Stampin’ Up! Bigz L Mini Milk Carton to cut out 3 milk cartons.
  2. Then I put the cartons together with Tombow Extreme Adhesive.
  3. After that I added some random Love Washi Tape around the boxes.
  4. Then I added some crystal hearts from Michael’s for my bling onto all of the boxes.
  5. I used My Favorite Things Pierced Heat STAX to cut out three small hearts.
  6. I stamped Right At Home Kiss Kiss sentiment onto the hearts.
  7. I adhered the hearts with some Micheal’s clothes pins.

They are filled with candy for her classmates.  I hope they love these too.

That fun!!

Take Your Time To Smile

I love the way this gold flower looks.  So classy!!

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut Neenah Desert Storm cardstock to an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50.

2. I cut my card panel to 3.25 x 4.75.

3. I used Create A Smile Botanical Love to stamp the big flower in Versamark ink and embossed it with Ranger Enchanted Gold then heat set it.

4. I added Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape and Stacked With Love Washi Tape to the side of my card panel.

5. I attached my card panel with foam adhesive.

6. I added Your Next Stamp Black Gumdrops for added interest.

Lets take another look at that flower:

Take Your To Time To Smile 3

Isn’t it pretty??  I love it.  It sparkles in the light.  I have to use this embossing powder more often.
