Halftone Hearts Nesting Die

Shaped scrapbook albums are so much fun to make. Altenew Halftone Hearts Nesting Die Set is perfect for today’s project.

Here’s how I created this scrapbook album:

Use the second large die to die cut two hearts out of Our Family Collection patterned paper.

Use the same die to die cut 25 hearts out of white cardstock.

Punch three holes using We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile.

With the We R Memory Keepers Cinch, bind the book together.

Die cut two of the smaller hearts out of the same patterned paper. Stamp the sentiment on the smaller heart using the Heartfelt Sentiments stamp set.

With the third largest heart die, die cut all of the photos and adhere them to the different pages in the album.

Halftone Hearts Nesting Die

Stamp a small sentiment a the bottom right edge of each photo.

Halftone Hearts Nesting Die

Have fun adding photos and sentiments.

{Clean and Simple} CASology 209 – Watercolor

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Clean and Simple Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card:

Week 209 - Watercolor

Take a look at my card:

Smile (CAS)

I love this weeks cue card.  I love watercoloring.  I get to play without worrying about messing up! Watercoloring never looks the same and that amazes me.

For this card, I stamped the feathers from Dark Room Door Feathers stamp set using Versamark ink.

Then I added Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set it.

After that, I used Prima Water Soluble Oil Pastel Crayons to add color to the feathers for a watercolor resist look.

These pastels are amazing.  I love the colors and the smoothness of them.

Once the watercolor dried, I used Papertrey Ink Flower Mini stamp set to stamp the smile sentiment using Clearsnap Archival Wicked Black Ink.

For an added touch, I added Clear Wink of Stella on the sentiment.

So what do you think?  Will you be willing to give this a try?  Let me know below.  I can’t wait to see what you think and create.

Nice, simple and CAS!

What do you think?  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

My favorite set from this release is the Fairytale Friends set! I shared my cards early this morning.

Are you ready for my big reveal?

Take a look at my cards:

Card 1 and 2:

Paint Swooshes and Splatters

YNS Supplies: School Notes, Paint Swooshes and Splatters, Circus Fun Matte Gumdrops

Other Supplies: Colorbox Doodlebug Pigment Ink, Recollections Heavyweight White Cardstock, Versafine Black Ink, We R Memories Corner Chomper

Thanks in color (YNS)

YNS Supplies: School Notes, Paint Swooshes and Splatters, Cupid Gumdrops

Other Supplies: Colorbox Bluebells Ink, Recollections Heavyweight White Cardstock, Versafine Black Ink, We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper

Both of these cards sizes are 4 x 8 scored at 4.  To create the rainbow one, just start at the bottom with red and work your way up the rainbow.  Super easy.  For the ombre purple card, just start with the lightest color and work your way down.  Stamp your sentiment in the middle and add your gumdrops.  Bam!!  Your finished.

You can knock out a couple of these simple but pretty fun cards in no time.

Card 3:

Teachers card

YNS Supplies: School Notes, Scribble Fun Set Two, Apple Die

Other Supplies: Neenah Dessert Storm Cardstock, Stampin’ Up! Real Red Cardstock, Wild Wasabi Cardstock, Versamark Ink, 3M Foam Tape, Versafine Ink

Creating this card was simple too!

Its a standard size A2 card, 4.25 x 5.50. I simple stamped the small apple from the stamp set with versamark ink to give a tone on tone look.  Then I die cut the apple and the leaf out of their color cardstock twice.  I stamped the sentiment on the card front using versafine black ink. Adhered them together with 3M foam tape and mounted them on the card front.

So, what do you think?

I had so much fun creating these cards to inspire all of you and show you the versatility of the stamp sets! Which one of these items are favorite?  I would love to hear from you!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop!!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop BannerHello everyone!!  I’m here today with a group of talented ladies who wanted to say “Thank You” to Kelly Latevola for all of her generosity and kindheartedness!! We thought a Blog Hop would be an awesome way for everyone to say good bye and send her best wishes as she parts ways with some of the amazing Design Teams she was on.

If you arrived from Kristina Beagle blog, your on the right path.  If this is your first stop, there is a complete list at the end of this post so that you could start from the beginning and not miss out on any of the fun.

The best way to send her off, would be to CASE her!!!  LOL!!  Yes, my dear teammate, Kelly, we are CASEing YOU!!

For those of you who don’t know Kelly, she has a CASEing Genius feature on her blog.  She always takes THREE cards from the designer she is CASEing, and makes ONE card inspired by those three cards.

Take a look at the three cards that I used:

DSCN0076

I love how Kelly raised the flower by added those square panels.  So pretty and dimensional.

DSCN2241

I love the colors Kelly used on these flowers.  I also love how she tried colors she wasn’t use to using.

DSCN9598

I love how Kelly’s image was placed to one side of the card.  It keeps her card CAS, which is my style of designing.

The CASE:

Be Happy (CASE)

I used the green color from card number 2 to color my leaves.  I totally love this color combo (YG01, YG03, YG17, YG67).  Thanks Kelly.  I position my images the left side of my card stock like her card 3.  I used my Brother Scan and Cut and cut out addition leaves so that I could lift some of my leaves to mimic Kelly’s raised panel on card 1!!

Take a closer look:

Be Happy close up (CASE)

I totally loved this challenge.  It was a challenging but well worth it!!  I had fun trying to come up with a card that suited my CAS style.

Thanks Kelly, for being a great teammate over on the a2z Scrapbooking blog. I love watching your periscopes as well.

What is a blog hop without some fun prizes?! Leave a comment by 11:59 pm EDT on Thursday, October 29th along each stop in the hop to increase your chances of winning a prize from one of our sponsors: a2z Scrapbooking, Altenew, Create a Smile Stamps, Dee’s Art Impressions, DJ Kard Kreations, Hero Arts, Ink Road, Lia Stampz and Simon Says Stamp,! Tag You’re It Challenge

Hell everyone!!  I popping in really quickly to play along with Tag You’re It Challenge this week.

Marybeth is the Designer this week and this is what she came up with:

TYIC+%2326

I love the butterfly on her tag so I wanted to give it a try!

I created these watercolor background pieces the other day and want to use one of them to create my tag.

Watercolor pieces

Take a look at my tag:

You make me smile upright

I love that watercolor piece and didn’t want to hide it so I decided to create my second tag using acetate to create my second tag.

You might be able to see it better here:

You make me smile tag flat

My sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Lunchbox Love Stamp Set and I stamped it in Versamark Ink and embossed it with Stampin’ Up! Gold embossing powder.

I punched out two butterflies using Stampin’ Up! Elegant Butterfly Punch and their Bitty Butterfly Punch out of the same watercolor piece.

I adhered everything with glue dots and added the Papertrey Ink Baker’s Twine Cream Cotton to finish off my tag.

Easy Peasy!! What do you think?  Let me know below in the comment section.

Waffle Flower Crafts – Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with our new Waffle Flower Crafts Photo Inspiration Challenge!!!

This is our seventh challenge for 2015. I can’t believe we are at the end of April already!!  It just started yesterday, LOL.  Seriously, where did the time go?  Spring is creep in slowly on the Northeast coast.  I can’t wait for it to get warmer.

Waffle Flower Photo Inspiration

These colors remind me of spring!!  Which I hope gets here soon.  I have to admit, this photo really gave me a run for my money.  I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do.

It took me two weeks and some new stamps to figure out what I want to do.

Take a look at my card:

Smile It Looks Good On You (WFC)

Once I received my new stamps and dies, I figured out what I wanted to do.

I decided to go with the mirror in the photo! So that is what I created, a mirror with no glass!

Here is how I created my card:

1. I cut my Simon Says Stamp Mint cardstock to 5 x 10 scored at 5.

2. I die cut Waffle Flower Crafts Doily Square die out of Stampin’ Up! Brushed Gold cardstock.

3. I placed my cardstock on my new Misti so that I could place my stamps inside my frame for perfect placement.

Using misti

4.I used Waffle Flower Crafts Planted Stamp Set to stamp my potted flower with Waffle Flower Crafts Spring Blend Inks.

5.I used Waffle Flower Crafts Doily Circle Stamp Set to stamp my sentiment and hearts with the same Spring Blend Ink.

6. I attached my frame with foam adhesive.

7. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the hearts and smile.

Smile…

If your looking for the Waffle Flower Craft Challenge-Photo Inspiration click here.

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CAS(E) this sketch!

It’s been a while since I played along so when I saw Michelle’s sketch, I knew I wanted to play along.

CTS_105

Isn’t this a pretty sketch!  I ordered some Penny Black stuff and I knew I wanted to use the flower from their Sunny Hello stamp set.  I was just worried it wouldn’t arrive in time but IT DID!!  Yayyyy!!  I love when USPS delivers on time.

(By the way, the stamp set is on sale at Joann’s for $9.59, can’t bet that.)

Lets take a look at my card:

smile

This photo doesn’t do that flower justice!  That flower really shimmers.  I used Perfect Pearls to color that flower.

Take a closer look:

Smile close up

Take a look at that shimmer! This was my first attempt at working with Perfect Pearls.  I totally love it!  Its so pretty.

I created a video showing you how I used the perfect pearls to color that flower.

Wasn’t that cool.  I love watching that.

Here is how I created my card:

1. I cut my card base from black cardstock into an A2 size (4.25 x 5.50) scored at 5.50

2. I cut my white card base to 4 x 5.25.

3. I stamped the large flower from Penny Black’s Sunny Hello stamp set using Versamark onto my white cardstock.

4. I used Rangers Perfect Pearl Sunflower Sparkle to add color to that flower.  I used a clean brush and pounced the powder onto the flower.  No spreading with the brush for fear that it will smear.

(The perfect pearl is on sale too at Joann’s for 1.79. Great deal)

5. Once the entire image was covered.  I taped the extra off and then use my brush to wipe the excess powder around on the card to give a little shimmer to the card panel.

6. I die cut Smile 3 times from Penny Black Creative Dies-Hooray.  I attached all of the die cuts with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive. I attached the die cut to the front of my card panel.

7. I added Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequin and Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm sequin using glossy accents.

8. I attached my card panel with Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.

That’s it!!  I love how elegant this card turned out.

What do you think?  Let me know.
