Not A Christmas Stamp…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our November Challenge!!

This month’s theme is Christmas Images using Non Christmas Stamps!!  This was a really fun technique.  I had to really shop my stash to see what stamps I have that I could use for this.

This is my first time attempting this technique and I really enjoyed it.  What was even cooler, I’m currently taking the new Holiday Card Workshop Online Card Class and Jennifer McGuire showed us how to create a card using different stamps that really wasn’t their intended purpose.

Take a look at my card:

BelieveFor this technique, you use a stamp that is NOT a Christmas image and use it to make an image that IS Christmas themed.

Here is how I created my card:

1. I used Simon Says Stamp Love This circle stamp to create my card.

2. I randomly stamped the solid circle using Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler  and retired Gumball Green Ink.

3. For the empty space, I used Papertrey Ink’s Building Blocks star and heart to fill the space in, using the same ink colors.

4. I stamped the star from Simon Says Stamp Lunch Box Notes with Versamark Ink and embossed it using Ranger Silver embossing powder.

5. I drew the stump free hand and used my Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso Marker.

6. I stamped the sentiment using Stampin’ Up! Good Greetings Stamp set that was given to me as a gift.

7.  I added some sequin from my Simon Says Stamp November Kit.

That’s all it took.  I love how it came out.

We are delighted to be sponsored this month by The Artistic Stamper.

Multicolor Leaf Stamping

Hello everyone!!  I’m here again with  the CS Take It Make It Design Team for our October Challenge!!!

This month’s theme is Multicoloured Stamping!!!  This is my inspiration card!!  My first card can be found here.

Hello Friend

For these multicolored leafs, I used the same baby wipe technique.

I added a couple of different re-inkers to the baby wipe and stamped the image onto it, then onto my card panel.

I remove my mask, stamped my sentiment in the center of those leaves and added dash lines.

For added interest, I added rhinestones and some sequins to my card panel.

Nothing to it.  I hope this card inspires you to come an play along with us.

What do you think?  Will you give this technique a try?  You should!!  The prize for this challenge is amazing.

Multicolored Stamping

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our October Challenge!!

This month’s theme is Multicoloured Stamping!!!  Your going to love this if you’ve never since this before.  I’ve created cards in the past using this technique.  You can see that card here.

For this challenge here is my card:

You are Simply AmazingTake a look at all of those colors in my butterfly!

Here is how I created this card:

1.  I took some baby wipes and randomly added three different Distress Ink colors onto the baby wipe.

2. The baby wipes became my ink pad.  To see what that looks like, click here.

3.  I stamped my Papertrey Ink Life is Beautiful butterfly on the baby wipes then onto my card panel.  I re-inked and stamped 2 more times.

4. I added my sentiment, some Pretty Pink Posh sequin and attached the card panel to the card base.

Easy Peasy!!

What do you think?  Will you give this technique a try?  You should!!  The prize for this challenge is amazing.

Stamping Onto Tissue Paper Part 2

Second Post for Today

For the Die-cut, Turn Stencil, How? click here

I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team Challenge!  This card is to provide you with some inspiration so that you could stop on by and play along.

Do you remember how to do this technique?  If not click here.

Take a look at my card:

In Life

Isn’t my Dragon, from the Sweet Stamp Shop,  just the cutest little creature you’ve seen!!  So what was stamped on tissue paper here?  Give up?

Only the dragon was stamped on tissue paper!!  I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with my new Copic Markers YR16 and BG49.

I used a mask and blended Distress Ink Broken China with my Mini Ink Blending Tool to create my night background.

My sentiment comes from a special stamp set from Mama Elephant and Kelly Purkey that I was given when I attended Mama Elephant’s event early this year.

I added Lawn Fawn Into the Woods Sequin to the card.

So, what do you think?  Please, let me know.

Now its your turn to give Stamping Onto Tissue Paper a try!!

This challenge runs from Friday, September 5th to Midnight Wednesday, September 24th, 2014.

The winner will be announce on the CS Take It Make It Blog on September 26th, 2014.

Stamping Onto Tissue Paper

Hello everyone!!  I’m here for the first time with CS Take It Make It Design Team Challenge!!!

I’m so excited because I’ve had to really stretch my style for this challenge.  This month’s theme is Stamping Onto Tissue Paper!!!  Yes, you heard me correctly.  Tissue paper!!

White Tissue PaperPhoto credit

Now, don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t easy at first.  I ripped my tissue paper a couple of times because I didn’t take my time.  After the first two tries I said, “slow down Kymona”.  Once I slowed down, I got it.

Take a look at my card:

Happy Birthday on Tissue PaperAre you wondering how I did this?  I’m going to tell you!!!

1. I stamped my sentiment from Mama Elephant Make A Wish Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

You want to use a permanent ink so that the image doesn’t bleed or blur.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue ink and a blending tool to add color to my Neenah Solar White card base.

3.  I stamped my stars from Mama Elephant Make A Wish Stamp Set with the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and the hearts from Simon Says Stamp Hey Teacher Stamp Set in Audrey Blue.

4. I then adhered my stamped image tissue image to the front of my card base using  a little bit of  Mod Podge.

5. After I adhered my image to the card base, I added Mod Podge to my entire card front.  Smoothing out as many wringles as I could.

6. Once the the glue dries, the tissue should become transparent.

Important to remember: Some methods of coloring backgrounds are NOT compatible with this techniue!  Spray Inks for example doesn’t not like having water-based glue on top of it.  So using spray inks might not be a good choice to use.

You have to experiment with the technique and your own particular style to fine what works for you and what materials you have at home.

I had a lot of fun playing around with tissue paper on my card.  I think I will try this card again but this time ink the edges of the tissue paper with the ink and see how well it fades with the glue.  I will repost as soon as I try it.

Now its your turn to give Stamping Onto Tissue Paper a try!!
