Is Mint Your Color?

Hello everyone!!  Is Mint Your Color?

I’m asking because I see so many different crafty related things and they come in the color mint, which is so pretty!!

So I decided to create a card using the color mint!

Take a look:

Be Thoughtful

I used Clearsnap Colorbox Archival Wicked Black Dye Ink, Clearsnap Pigment Ink by Teresa Collins, and Clearsnap Jumbo Design Fun Flourish Wheel to create the beautiful mint background.

Then I used Concord & 9th Being Classy stamp set to stamp the sentiment.

Simple but so elegant!!

So here is my contribution to all things mint!!

There’s No Place Like Home….

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with Casology Challenge Week 118: Home!

Week 118 - Home

First let me say Thank you to Judy and the other ladies over at CASology for choosing my candy apple card as an Honorable Mention.  I was so excited to see my card on the list.  Just in case you missed that card you can find it here.

Now on to the card for this week.

When I first saw the cue word, I wasn’t sure what to do because I do not have any home stamps, dies nothing.  I have pattern paper with homes on them but that didn’t appeal to me.

On Wednesday, as I was cleaning up and organizing my dies, I found a Lawn Fawn Die that I didn’t even know I had.

Happy Trails Lawn Cuts

Its the Happy Trails die set. I said to myself, why do I have this and not the stamp set.  That didn’t make sense to me.  I look thought my stamps every day and have never seen a set that matches this.  So, I didn’t give it a second thought.

On Thursday, something told me to check my stamp sets to check if I had the matching stamps that goes with that die.  If I do not have that set, then I would give the die set away.  So, I check and BAM, there was the stamp set.  I laughed so hard because we are all guilty of buying stamps, dies and there tools and forgetting that we even have certain things.

So, I looked at the stamp set and wondered what can I do with this set?  What did I buy it for?  Then it hit me, people live in there RV’s too.  I do have a home stamp.  Now I can enter the challenge!!

Here is my card:

Home

Yeah, I can see a family calling this RV home.  Out in the woods, enjoying nature and not having to worry about anyone bothering them.  Imagine moving your entire home from state to state without having to pack.  I love it!!!

I used these Copic colors to color my RV: YR02, YR04, YR07, R24,N4, N5, BG02, Y15 and Trees: G02, G07

I created a mask to cover the entire card front except the circle.  I used Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink for the sky and Ranger Archival Ink Leaf Green Ink for the grass.

So what do you think?  Can this pass as a home?  Let me know what you think.

Multicolored Stamping

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our October Challenge!!

This month’s theme is Multicoloured Stamping!!!  Your going to love this if you’ve never since this before.  I’ve created cards in the past using this technique.  You can see that card here.

For this challenge here is my card:

You are Simply AmazingTake a look at all of those colors in my butterfly!

Here is how I created this card:

1.  I took some baby wipes and randomly added three different Distress Ink colors onto the baby wipe.

2. The baby wipes became my ink pad.  To see what that looks like, click here.

3.  I stamped my Papertrey Ink Life is Beautiful butterfly on the baby wipes then onto my card panel.  I re-inked and stamped 2 more times.

4. I added my sentiment, some Pretty Pink Posh sequin and attached the card panel to the card base.

Easy Peasy!!

What do you think?  Will you give this technique a try?  You should!!  The prize for this challenge is amazing.

Flowers…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing with the Muse Challenge #76.  I missed it last week.  I created a card but didn’t get a chance to post it.  So I wanted to make sure I get this week’s card in.

This week’s Muse is Therese Calvird.  Take a look at her card.

friends

This challenge was a little difficult for me because I hardly create cards with flowers on it.  I have the hardest time placing the flowers or even building them.

I gave it a try this go round and I’m ok with the results.  I’m not in love with it but I think its a good start.

Take a look at my card:

Hey you are my favorite

I used Simon Says Stamp Favorite Flowers Stamp Set to create my flower bed.

I used Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise ink and Hero Arts Green Hills Shadow Ink.

I tried to make this card as simple as I could because I really don’t know how flowers should look on a card.

Please let me know what you think, good or bad.

Who Do You Feel Strongly About?

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with Casology week 104.  The Cue Card is Pet!! I’m also linking this card to Addicted to Stamps and their challenge is CLEAN AND SIMPLE (CAS).

Week 104 - Pet

Addicted to Stamps

When I first saw the word I immediately thought of a pet animal.  I figured everyone would choose that so I decided to look up the meaning of the word “pet” to see what else it means.

I decided to go with pet as an adjective: to feel particularly strongly about someone or something.

Take a look at my card:

Love you with heartss

Nothing like a father’s love for his only daughter!

I decided to do a one layer card with a lot of white space, one focal point and a sentiment, CLEAN AND SIMPLE (CAS) at its best.

My Koala’s are from my new Sweet Stamp Shop Koala stamp set and my sentiment and hearts are from Lawn Fawn’s Love You Tons stamp set.

I used my Copic markers #B12, B14, #R20, R24 and C3.

I wanted to color with my Copic’s for practice.  I need to color more often. I want to master this skill.

This was my first card but I didn’t like how the sentiment “little sister” turned out but I wanted to share it with you.

Plus the belly is blue and not pink.

Love you little sister

What do you think?  Let me know!

Hello….

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with CAS(E) this sketch #84. I only have 8 hours to post this card.

CTS_Sketch84

I created a one layer card. I wanted to keep it very simple.

Take a look at my card:

Hello(Sorry about the photo, no natural lighting it is 1:26 in the am)

Edited to include this better photo at 6:30am

Hello2

My card is pretty clean and simple.  I used there Stampin’ Up! colors to create my card, crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding and basic black.

The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Hi There stamp set.

The scallops are from Papertrey Ink’s Ombre Builders stamp set.

1. I masked 1inch of space at the top of the card using the post-it tape.

2. I stamped my image 1/8 from the top and bottom of the post-it tape.

3. I removed the tape and added my sentiment.

4. I added rhinestones and WALA my card is done!!

The Joy is in the Journey

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with Papertrey Ink’s Make it Monday #171: Pop Up Die Cuts, AAA Cards Game #10 Watercolor techniques and Virginia’s View Challenge #5

I’m so excited about this weeks challenges because they combine my two favorite things.  Water-coloring and my all time favorite die, Life is Beautiful Butterfly die.

AAAcardGame10

Yayyyyy, I get to use Watercolors for this challenge!!

MIM 171 Pop Up Die Cuts

Besty Veldman showed everyone how to use our dies to create partial cuts!!

Die Cut, perfect!

Take a look at my card:

Joy in the Journey3

Joy in the Jouney4

I created a card like this in the past, when I was taking my Online Card Class on Water-coloring.  It was fun so I decided to do it again with different colors, die, and sentiment.  You can see my original card here.

To create the watercolor dots, I used a new pencil eraser to transfer the ink from the pad to the paper.

Then I die cut the butterfly over the dots.  I only placed the cutting plates over the wing section of the butterfly.  That way the body of the butterfly will stay in tack.

I stamped the sentiment and added some heart enamel dots.

Can you say pretty!!!  I can!!!  Creating this card was very easy and everyone should try water-coloring and partial die cutting.

So what do you think?  Please leave a comment letting me know if you like my card creation today.

Huh..Black Butterfly?

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with Papertrey Ink’s Make It Monday #170: Masking with Die Cuts.

How cool is this effect! What you have to do is cut masks out of dies that have matching stamps. You create an easy one-layer card that will be striking.

Have you ever seen a black butterfly?  They are just as pretty as the colorful ones.

black__white_butterfly-1152x864Photo credit

So for those of you who know me, knows that I’m going to draw for my beautiful butterfly stamp and die set.  I have to say this is my favorite set.  It works with everything.

Take a look at my card:

Happy Butterfly

Here are the steps to creating this beautiful one layer card.

1. I cut my butterfly out using my Papertrey Ink’s Life is Beautiful die and some Inkadinkado masking paper.

2. I place the masked butterfly down on my cardstock where I wanted it to be.

3. I sponged Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight, Mellon Mambo, and Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin’ Pad with sponge daubers.

4. I removed the masking to reveal the colorless butterfly surrounded by the beautiful background.

5. I stamp the butterfly detail in Versafine Onyx Black Ink using Papertrey Ink’s Life is Beautiful stamp set.

6. Then I stamped the sentiment using Papertrey Ink’s Wet Paint stamp set using the Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I decided to use the black ink for my butterfly and sentiment so that they will really pop out of the colorful background.

Cherry Berry FLOAT..

Hello everyone!  I’m here today playing along with CASology Week 102: Float!!!

Week 102 - Float

I have to admit when I saw this cue card, I wanted to do a hot air balloon or just regular balloons.  I thought that would be easy.

Then I said to myself, why not be different.  Why not be unpredictable.  So, I went through all of my stamps to see what would float?  What could give the feeling of floating?

Guess what!  I found something.  Yes, yes, yes! What could we all use on a nice summer day to cool us down?

Yes, yes, yes!!  A float!  Not just any float or the most common one, A CHERRY BERRY FLOAT with two straws!

Take a look:

Cherry Berry Float

D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S

How cute is this!!!  Did you see the sparkle on my ice cream!!!  I was going to add some other embellishments but decided against it since this is a clean and simple card challenge and white space matters, lol.

The Copic colors I used were R29, BG49

So0000, tell me what you think.  Really, let me know.  What is a good idea or what!

WOW! What Color Is That?

Hello everyone!  I’m back again today, this time for the Muse Challenge #73.  The Muse for this week is Beverley Brown!

Take a look at Beverley Brown’s card:

MuseNow take a look at my card:

Sending Happy Thoughts front

I wasn’t sure which picture I wanted to use so I decided to add both of them.

Sending Happy Thoughts

Beverley created a CAS card that I love. I love the simplicity of her card.

Beverley used multicolor in her butterflies, so I wanted my flowers to have that same multicolor look.  I used the baby wipe technique to create my multicolor flowers.

Then I stamped my sentiment with the same multicolor ink.

I had fun creating this card.  Soooo, what do you think?
