CASEing Kelly Blog Hop!!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop BannerHello everyone!!  I’m here today with a group of talented ladies who wanted to say “Thank You” to Kelly Latevola for all of her generosity and kindheartedness!! We thought a Blog Hop would be an awesome way for everyone to say good bye and send her best wishes as she parts ways with some of the amazing Design Teams she was on.

If you arrived from Kristina Beagle blog, your on the right path.  If this is your first stop, there is a complete list at the end of this post so that you could start from the beginning and not miss out on any of the fun.

The best way to send her off, would be to CASE her!!!  LOL!!  Yes, my dear teammate, Kelly, we are CASEing YOU!!

For those of you who don’t know Kelly, she has a CASEing Genius feature on her blog.  She always takes THREE cards from the designer she is CASEing, and makes ONE card inspired by those three cards.

Take a look at the three cards that I used:

DSCN0076

I love how Kelly raised the flower by added those square panels.  So pretty and dimensional.

DSCN2241

I love the colors Kelly used on these flowers.  I also love how she tried colors she wasn’t use to using.

DSCN9598

I love how Kelly’s image was placed to one side of the card.  It keeps her card CAS, which is my style of designing.

The CASE:

Be Happy (CASE)

I used the green color from card number 2 to color my leaves.  I totally love this color combo (YG01, YG03, YG17, YG67).  Thanks Kelly.  I position my images the left side of my card stock like her card 3.  I used my Brother Scan and Cut and cut out addition leaves so that I could lift some of my leaves to mimic Kelly’s raised panel on card 1!!

Take a closer look:

Be Happy close up (CASE)

I totally loved this challenge.  It was a challenging but well worth it!!  I had fun trying to come up with a card that suited my CAS style.

Thanks Kelly, for being a great teammate over on the a2z Scrapbooking blog. I love watching your periscopes as well.

What is a blog hop without some fun prizes?! Leave a comment by 11:59 pm EDT on Thursday, October 29th along each stop in the hop to increase your chances of winning a prize from one of our sponsors: a2z Scrapbooking, Altenew, Create a Smile Stamps, Dee’s Art Impressions, DJ Kard Kreations, Hero Arts, Ink Road, Lia Stampz and Simon Says Stamp,! CASology 156 – Line

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card for you!!!

This week’s cue card is super simple!!  The shortest distance between to points is a straight line!!!

This week we are all about lines!!

Week 156 - LineTake a look at my card:

Thank you (CAS)

I went with Chevron lines!! Those embossed chevron lines are totally amazing.

The lines in the banner and the lines in the leaves are a plus!!

Here’s how I created this card:

1.  Cut my card base to an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50.

2. I used Stampin’ Up! Chevron Embossing Folder to create my card panel.

3. I used Lawn Fawn Our Friendship Grows stamp set and die set to create my flower and leaves focal point.

4. I used Copic Marker Y32, Y35, Y38, G07, E33, E35, E37 to color the flower and leaves.

5. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and flag the end.

6. I adhered the card panel with fun foam to the card base.  I adhered the leaves to the back of the flower with tape runner and the banner to the card panel with foam tape.

7. I added Clear Wink of Stella the flower.  I added to crystal clear gumdrops underneath the banner for balance.

I love how this card turned out!!  I hope you do to!  Let me know below.

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Multicolor Leaf Stamping

Hello everyone!!  I’m here again with  the CS Take It Make It Design Team for our October Challenge!!!

This month’s theme is Multicoloured Stamping!!!  This is my inspiration card!!  My first card can be found here.

Hello Friend

For these multicolored leafs, I used the same baby wipe technique.

I added a couple of different re-inkers to the baby wipe and stamped the image onto it, then onto my card panel.

I remove my mask, stamped my sentiment in the center of those leaves and added dash lines.

For added interest, I added rhinestones and some sequins to my card panel.

Nothing to it.  I hope this card inspires you to come an play along with us.

What do you think?  Will you give this technique a try?  You should!!  The prize for this challenge is amazing.

Are You A Watercolorists?

Watercolor painting is an art form that creates artistic representations, usually on watercolor paper, using pigments that are water-soluble.

OK, I love the wording “artistic representation” because I can’t draw for the life of me and I also have trouble actually painting objects much less making my sentiment look like I painted it.  I’m so glad that my cards are beautiful regardless if I can’t draw or paint.  Thank you “artistic representation”!!

With that said, I created two cards today for my online Watercolor for Card Makers Class Homework.  The assignment was to watercolor paint over a stamped image.  This was fun!  My daughter, niece and I sat down to create our cards.  It’s amazing how all of us came up with different versions of the same image.

I made two cards because I felt like my first flower was dulled out and wanted to see if I could use a different flower.  Also, my sentiment was giving me so trouble.  Here are my “artistic representation” of flowers in a vase!

Made with Love

On my first card, the blue water started to seep out of my jar on the side.  I went to close to the black line with my wet paint brush.  I over did it a little with the shadow at the bottom of the jar.  You have to learn from your mistakes.

Made with Love2

This second card, the water stayed in the jar and my shadow looks so much better.  The sentiment is where I think I over did it.  That’s the beauty of water-coloring.

So what do you think?  Did I do a good job at depicting a watercolor painting?  Would you call me a Watercolorists?

Well in my book, I’m the best Watercolorists on this side of the computer screen, lol!!!!

The real test is how do I compare to my daughter and niece!!  Below you will find the cards they painted.

Little Lady Sanaa Flower Little Lady Zoe Flower

My Daughter                                                       My Niece

What fun!!!

Well that’s it for today.  I hope you enjoyed our cards today and will not hesitate to try water-coloring and become a Watercolorists!!
