Calling All Watercolor Pros……

I’m looking for everyone who loves WATERCOLORS!!!  This medium is awesome.  My Watercolor for card makers class has really stretched our stamps, dies and our imagination.

I’m having so much fun in this class.  I have so many cards to post.  I’m working late night on all of the techniques that are taught in the class.

Today’s card technique basic stamping for watercolor.  Yana Smakula taught the class that some of our stamps in our stash can be used to create a watercolor look.

Watercolor Smile

I used a big flower stamp for the Betsy’s Blossoms Stamp Set from Stampin’ UP!  By the way, this stamp set is retiring.

I added my Crayola watercolors to my acrylic block and stamped my flower stamp onto that block.  I then stamped the flower onto my watercolor paper 6 times.  Each flower looks different.  I love how it turned out.

I wanted the sentiment to standout so I stamped it in black and added my thick bakers twine for an added dimension.

What do you think?

Less is More Challenge – Colour Week 166

Today’s card was made for the Less is More Challenge.  The colour challenge this month is A Touch of Turquoise!

I created my card using Stampin’ Up!’s Happy Watercolor Stamp Set.  I’ve wanted to use this stamp set for awhile but haven’t had a chance to and today I decided was that day.  I love how the flower looks on the watercolor pool party stamp.

Take a look:

Watercolor Thank You

I have a secret to share with all of you.  I had to make this card three time before I got it just right.  I kept smudging the thank you sentiment.   I was so excited about making this card that I refused to let the sentiment dry before I add the mask to the front of the card.

This has taught me great patience.  I used the Versafine Onyx Black Ink and that takes a minute to dry.  Now I really know.

All in all, I love the look of my card!

Please, leave me a comment letting me know what you think of my card.

Freshly Made Sketches 129

I’m back again today with another card for another challenge.  This challenge is from Freshly Made Sketches.  I’m happy to being playing along.

I made this card using some of the Stampin’ Up! products from the Sale-A-Bration catalog that ends on the 31st of March, which is this Monday.  I have to say that I really love the colors in this card.  Pool party and black are a great combination.

Take a look at my card:

Smitten With You

I used the Sweet Sorbet DSP and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Both items you can get for free if you place an order of $50 or more in my online store.  I love them both.

Please tell me what you think.

Holiday Card Workshop Day 2 – Die Cutting for Holiday Cards

Hello everyone,

I know I’m out of order with my cards but it is okay with me. Today’s card we had to use our die cutting machines to create our holiday cards.  I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, then I remembered seeing a card using our new festive flurry dies and I wanted to try it.  The card I saw was made by Erica Cerwin, a fellow demonstrator.  I recreated her card with my own spin on it.  It came out really nice.  Here it is:
