One Stamp Set, Two Ways!!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today Guest Designing for Gerda Steiner Designs.  Super Doper Awesome!!!

Have you seen her latest stamps?  Totally awesome!  She has clear stamps, digital stamps and good old rubber stamps!!  You can’t bet that!

If you haven’t checked her out, you have to go on over and pay her visit!!

Today, I’m playing with a clear stamp called Peeking Friends!  Super cute images and easy to color!

Peeking Friends

I’ve created two projects.  I have a third one, but as I’m writing this post, I’m having a creative block.  Crazy right.  I just can’t figure out what I want to do with what I have.  As soon as I do, I will do a separate post on it.

Take a look at what I did create:

First up is a gift tag that doubles as a card since it opens.

No Peeking (GSD)

This is how I created this tag:

  1. I stamped the image using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink and colored the elf in with Copic Markers; G07, R37, Y13, E11 and E25.
  2. Then I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut him out.
  3. Then I used Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Banner Duo 2 Dies to cut out 3 tags, 2 out of white cardstock and 1 out of retired Stampin’ Up! Season of Style.
  4. I used the circle die to cut out a circle in the pattern paper.
  5. I adhered the pattern paper to one of the white tags.
  6. I used my score board to score the back tag so that I could Tombow Multipurpose Glue to hold the tag together.
  7. I stamped my sentiment in the circle.
  8. I created a shaker pocket using the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool, click here if you want to see a tutorial.
  9. I added random sequin to my shaker pocket and sealed it up.
  10. I attached the pocket to the back of the pattern paper using Tombow Extreme tape.
  11. Then I added 3M Foam tape to the back of the pattern paper, to add dimension.
  12. I put all of the pieces together.  Then I added my colored elf to the front of the window.
  13. I punched a hole at the top of the tag using the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile.
  14. I added some ribbon to the tag.

Awesome outcome!!

Second up is a card:

HO, HO, HO

Check out my santa!!  I love how he looks like he is peeking into your window!!  Hope you’ve been nice this year.

Check out this picture I also took of this card using some props!!  I wanted to give it a try.

Santa

I picked up this porcelain palette plate and was excited to use it!!  I love how the card looks surrounded by different embellishments.

Here’s how I created this card:

  1. I cut my front card panel to 4.25 x 5.50 and used My Favorite Things Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle Windows Die.
  2. I used Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and Wendy Veechi Embossing Paste to add snow to the front of the card panel.
  3. I attached the front panel to the card base using Tombow Extreme adhesive.
  4. I stamped my the santa and used Copic Markers: R37, R39, R89, E00, E11, C1 and colored him in.
  5. I slipped the santa between the front panel and the card base to give the impression that he is peeking into your window.
  6. I stamped the sentiment and WaLa, I was done!1

Super sweet and pleasant card!!

Soooo, what do you think?  Please leave a comment below!!

Stay tune for my third card as well!

Winter Friends Gift Tags!!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!!

This month’s theme is Christmas!!!  I’m super excited about this challenge.  There are so many neat stamps, stencils, die cuts with a Christmas theme that the possibilities are endless.

I decided to create Christmas gift tags for this challenge.  Oh boy did I have fun with this challenge.  I created not one, not two, but three tags for you today.

Take a look at my tags:

Winter Friends Gift Tags

Aren’t these the cutest tags you’ve seen.  I love these winter friends paired with my Skittles of different colors!!

For all of these tags:

1. I die cut these tags using Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag die.

2. The pattern paper that I used was Lawn Fawn Snow Day and Sweater Weather.

3. I stamped and die cut my images using Simon Say Stamp Winter Friends stamp set and die cut.

4. All of them have a different color Skittles: Rudolph, Slate and a Frosty Glitter.

5. Each image was colored with Copic markers.

Now lets take a closer look at each tag:

Santa Tag

For this tag:

1. I stamped the snowflake with Versamark ink and covered them with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.  I heat set the images.

2. I drawn in a curved line and used my B000 Copic Marker to create a shadow that resembled snow.

3. I stamped my sentiment under the hill.

4. I stamped my image with Memento Black Ink and colored him in with Copic Markers: Coat and hat: R24, R27, R29, R46; Belt: 100; Buckle Y35; Face: E00, E11, R20. Then he was die cut out.

5. Foam adhesive was used to pop him up off the tag.

6. The front tag was adhered to the red tag with regular adhesive.

7. I added Slate Skittles to the left and right of the sentiment.

8. I used Stampin’ Up! retired Sweater ribbon to finish off my tag.

Take a look at my second tag:

Snowman Tag

For this tag:

1. I used Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and Embossing Paste to create the snowy background.  I added Distress Glitter Clear Candy Rock  for the glitter look.

2. I stamped and colored my image with Copic markers. Then I die cut it out.

3. The rest of the directions are above.

4.I’m entering this tag into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Stencil Challenge.

Now to the last tag:

Penguin tag

For this tag:

1. I stamped the musical notes for this tag.

2. Then I followed all of the directions up above.

What do you think about my give tags!!  Please let me know.  I would love to hear from you.

Now its your turn to join us and play along with our challenge this month.  I hope to see you there!!

I’m also entering these tags in the Tag You’re It Blog Challenge.

Holiday Card Workshop Day 4

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with my homework from Day 4 from my Online Card Class Holiday Card Workshop.  I’m so happy I’m able to complete some of my homework.  There are times when I don’t get to finish all my assignments, so to be able to get them done this time around is great for me.

Day 4 lessons focused on One-Layer Cards.

Our instructors today were:

1. Jennifer McGuire with a Window Card

2. Laura Bassen with Create a Scene

3. Julie Ebersole with Simple Masking

Now on to my cards.  Lets start with:

1. Jennifer taught us a double partial die cutting trick.  I really love this technique and will be using it on more of my cards.

Here is my card:

Snowman

Yes, this card has two separate die cuts.  Can you believe that?  I know, neat isn’t it.

Lets look at the inside of the card:

Snowman InsideI heat embossed my sentiment, cut a circle stencil and inked my circle with distress inks.  I add clear wink of stella to the circle.  I colored a piece of white cardstock with the same Copic marker I used on the snowman’s buttons.  I punch a heart and adhered it to the circle.

I loved the card so much I made another.  Take a look at my second card:

Santa Die cut

Isn’t this Santa just the cutest you’ve seen.  I really like my coloring of this Santa.  I’m not to fond of the background but it will do.

In fact the snowman should have this background and the Santa should have the other background.

Take a look at the inside of the card:

Santa Inside

I think I put to much glitter on this circle.  What do you think?

Now on to the next card:

2. Julie taught us how to mask off an area and stamp in that area to create a silhouette.

I’m not sold on my card but I tried, take a look:

Joy

Julie used die cut of a deer with antlers, her cards look so much better.  I have to give this technique another try.

Julie created another card that I will try to do tomorrow.  I also have to work on the card Laura taught us.

I will be back tomorrow with those cards.  Stay tuned!!

Hello everyone!!

I started a new Online Holiday Christmas Card Class and I love it!!  Yesterday was day one and I learned so much stuff.  We learned fun ideas for making the insides of the cards as exciting as the outside.  I took my lead from our instructor Kristina.  Take a look at the card I made for homework:

Washi Outside

Washi Inside

I’m so excited about this card.  It was fun and easy to make.  I was able to use different supplies that I would not have thought of to use together.

Kreative Tip: I use the Season of Style Designer Washi Tape (132155) on the outside and the inside of the card. The washi tape was used to seal the window sheet so the gift card can rest securely in the card.

Cardstock: Crumb Cake (120953) and Whisper White Cut & Ready Card Bases (135804)
