CASology 147 – Wedding

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card for you!!

This time of year is awesome! I love graduations, proms, birthdays, and wedding.  I love seeing all of the buzz and pretty dresses.   This week’s cue card is sure to please.

Week 147 - Wedding

Now take a look at my card:

Bridal showerNow I know your wondering, what in the world does my card have to do with the cue card.

The umbrella’s are not for a baby shower but for a bridal shower!! Yes, the bride-to-be has to have a bridal shower!!

Congratulations on her wedding to be!!  This is the place where she gets all of those sexy gifts.

Amazing right!  Are you wondering if this card is simple?  It took me all of five minutes to finish this card.

Here is how:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card, 5.50 by 4.25 scored at 4.25.

2. I cut my card panel to 5.25 by 4.00.

3. I used the 3rd largest Simon Say Stamps Stitched Circle die and the umbrella from WPlus9 Love Showers Layers Die to die cut both piece together at the same time. I die cut those 3 times.

4. I used the same circle die to cut the 3 circles out of My Mind’s Eye Fancy That pattern paper found in the Simon Says Stamp May 2015 card kit.

5. I adhered the circle together making sure the gold dots on the pattern paper was showing through the die cut umbrella.

6. I attached the 3 circles to the card panel with foam tape.

7. I stamped my sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Congratulations stamp set using the new Simon Says Stamp Blush Pink Ink Pad found in the May 2015 Card Kit.

8. I adhered the card panel to the card base using fun foam.

That’s it!  I told you it was simple.  Just some die cutting and stamping only once.  You too can achieve this look.

CASology 146 – Music

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card for you!!

First let me say thank you to everyone for your well wishes and prayers.  My dad’s progress is day by day.  Everyone day is different but I’m just glad he is still here. So I ask that you still pray for my dad.

Now on to our cure card this week.  I love this our cue card this week.

Week 146 - Music

When I saw “music”, I knew exactly what I wanted to create. I had some retired Stampin’ Up DSP that had a music sheet that I never got a chance to use, so why not open the package now.

Take a look at my card:

Just a Note (CAS)

This card was super easy to make, which is what I need right now.  I was able to make this card while my dad slept.

Here is how I created this card:

1. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies to cut and add the stitched lines on my card panel.

2. I added the cut panels to Stampin’ Up! retired Modern Medley DSP.

3. I used Papertrey Ink Fancy That Stamp Set to stamp my sentiment.

4. I used Versamark Ink and embossed the sentiment with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.

5. I attached the front panel to the card base with fun foam for even coverage.

Easy and Classy!

What do you think? Let me know what you think.

CASology 145 – Shape

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!!  We are back again with another Cue Card for you!! This past week has been such a hard week for me.  My dad had a stroke right after last weeks post went live and I haven’t slept since.

This week’s cue card had me stumped for a minute, check it out:

Week 145 - Shape

Shape??  Super easy, right? Circle, triangles, squares, diamonds, stars and many more came to mind when I thought of this word.  I realize when there are so many options, it makes it harder to choose.

I just happen to look on my desk and saw the new Circle Dots Stencil by Simon Says Stamp and knew I had to use that stencil on my card.  The pattern was how I was feeling dealing with my dad’s stroke.  My head was going in circles!!

Take a look at my card:

Thank You So Very Much

I decided that I wanted to add color to my textured paste.  So I decided to go with Distress Inks Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry.

All of those circles shapes are different in size.  I love them.

I stamped my sentiment using Simon Says Stamps Circle Saying Stamp Set and My Favorite Things Black Hybrid Ink.

I trimmed my card base down so that you could see the black card stock on both sides.

I added Clear Wink of Stella to each of the dots.

What do you think? Let me know.

CASology 144 – Flight

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!  The weeks are flying by so fast.  This is the last week in April and still no sign of Spring.

I hope May brings a lot of sunshine.

Week 144 - FlightThis week’s cue card was super easy for me!!  I know which stamp set I wanted to use as soon as I saw the word flight.

I went super clean and simple on this card.  Take a look:

Take Flight

I used Simon Says Stamp Quite The Pear Stamp Set to stamp my paper plane.

I used Copic Markers C4 and C6 to color my paper plane.

I stamped the dash line from the bottom of my card to the paper plane using Simon Says Stamp

The dash line gives the paper plane some motion.

I stamped my sentiment using Technique Tuesday Take Flight Stamp Set using My Favorite Thanks Hybrid Ink.

I rounded the right hand bottom corner with my We R Memories Corner Chomper.

I decided at the last minute to add one rhinestone to the sentiment for a nice finishing touch.

So what do you think?  Now its your turn to give this cue card a try.

CASology 143 – Ombre

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!!

Week 143 - Ombre

I love this week’s cue card.  Creating ombre cards are always fun.  I love how the colors go from dark to light or vise versa.

Its all about baby stuff for me this week so I decided to stick with that theme.  Last week I received the new Tim Holtz Mini Blueprints 8 stamp set and I fell in love with the onesie stamp!!

Take a look at what I created this week:

Welcome baby (CAS)

I just love how this baby onesie turned out, don’t you? Soooo, do you want to know what colors I used on my onesie?

To color my onesie, I applied the 10 + 2 rule to my Copic coloring!!

What is that you ask?  Well instead of staying with the natural color blend, I decided to step it up a notch.

1. I started with B00 then add 10 to those zeros then I added 2, which gave me B12.

2. Then I add 10 to the 12 then add 2, which gave me B24.

3. That gave me B00, B12 and B24 – 10 + 2!!

By do that, I intensified my colors.  The darker color is truly dark and will stand out more.  That goes for the mid-tone color as well.

I’m totally impressed by those colors.  I want to practice that technique with other colors to see how it looks.

The rest of the card was easy to pull together.  My card base and card panel were die cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stax.

I mounted the card panel to the card front using a piece of white fun foam.

I stamped the sentiment using So Suzy Stamps Welcome Baby stamp featured in her new Baby Featurette Series which you can find here.

Super doper cute and simple.

CASology 142 – Sweet

Hello everyone!! It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!!

Week 142 - Sweet

It’s amazing how the words that should be easy sometimes isn’t!  For me, I think its having to many options.  I had a couple of stamp sets in mind but I just couldn’t settle on one.  As time drew near, I had to make a decisions.

So here is what I came up with:

You Complete Me

I order Lil’inker designs Piece of Me Stamps and Puzzle Pieces Die Set for the Light It Up Blue for Autism but they didn’t arrive in time so I decided to use them now.

This set is so sweet.  Those little puzzle pieces are too cute.

Creating this card was super easy.

1. I die cute the puzzle pieces out of an old piece of watercolor paper.

2. I adhered the pieces to the front of the card.

3. I stamped the sentiment right underneath the puzzle pieces.

4. I added Clear Wink of Stella on top of the puzzle pieces.

That’s it!  Nothing more!  I told you it was super easy.

CASology 141 – News

Hello everyone!! It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!!

Week 141 - News

This time around our Cue Card is super fitting for the CASology Team!!  CASology has some awesome news to share this week!  Our fellow team member Gillian had her precious baby boy last week!!

Yayyyy, a baby in the house!!!  Now isn’t that GREAT NEWS!!! I think so!!

Now check out my card:

Did You Get the Memo (CAS)

I totally love this Lawn Fawn Just My Type and Just My Type, Too stamp set!!  I created this card before I knew Gillian’s baby was born, but I think its fitting.

All of you got the memo!!!  LOL!!

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my white cardstock to an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50, scored at 4.25.

2. I used Papertrey Ink Drips and Dribbles stamp set and stamped my splatters using Lawn Fawn Cranberry Ink.

3. I die cut Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook Die and stamped the typewriter with My Favorite Think Hybrid Black Ink.

4. I stamped the sentiment using the same Cranberry Ink.

5. I adhered the notebook paper with a retired Stampin’ Up! arrow paperclip.

Super doper easy and CAS!!

Take a look at another card I created with the same set:
Hello (CAS)

I couldn’t help doing a little paper piecing!!  That was super fun.  The pattern paper is from my Studio Calico card kit, its called Paislee Press.

So what will you come up with?  What “News” do you have to share? I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

CASology 140 – Spring

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!!

Week 140 - SpringYayyyy!! This cue card makes me happy!!  Spring means sunshine, warmer weather, birds chirping, my BIRTHDAY (April 4) and rain!!  LOL, yes rain! Spring brings a lot of rain.

So, for my card I thought of rain.  Take a look at my card:

Happy Spring (CAS)

I just love this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.  Abby is so cute!! I couldn’t wait to sit and color her! Look at that umbrella!!

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my card base to 4.25 x 5.50, scored at 4.25.

2. I stamped Abby and the umbrella from Simon Says Stamp Abby’s Spring using My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

3. I used Copic Markers to color Abby and her umbrella.

R24, YR68, Y06, G17, E00, E23, E11, E21, E33, E37 and W5.

4. I used the Simon Says Stamp Spring Showers Wafer coordinating die to cut out Abby and the umbrella.

5. I placed Abby and the umbrella down on my card base and covered them with Simon Says Stamp Raindrop Stencil. I used post-it tape to hold the stencil in place.

Masking Abby off

6. I took my time and pounced Distress Salty Ocean Ink onto the raindrop stencil without touch Abby or the umbrella.

7. I stamped the sentiment and adhered Abby and the umbrella with foam adhesive.

Super doper easy and fun.  I didn’t do much blending.  I just colored and that was stress relieving for me.

So what will you come up with? I can’t wait to see!

CASology 139 – Style

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!

Week 139 - Style

Ok, Ok, I know!! I thought the same thing too when I saw this cue card.

What in the world is “STYLE” and how does it relate to cardmaking?

Well lets look up what style means:

Style may refer to: Style is a phenomenon that gives birth to an art or architectural motif that distinguishes one era from another

Ok, this is a pretty interesting definition.  What do you do with this?

Sooo, I decided to go with Style (visual style), style in art and painting.

Take a look at my card:

Happiness is you

These flowers look like they were painted on my card front!!  Very elegant and very stylish!!

That’s my interpretation and I’m sticking to it!!

To create this CAS card:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50 out of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.

2. I stamped Hero Arts Leafy Vines with Vesamark Ink and add Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.

3. I heat set the embossing powder.

4. I used Your Next Stamp Whatnot Sentiment Set Four to stamp my sentiment in Versafine Oynx Ink.

5. The top of the card seem somewhat bear so I added Your Next Stamp Crystal Clear Gumdrops for added interest.

So what will you come up with?  I can’t wait to see!

CASology 138 – Blossom

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back with another Cue Card for you!!

Week 138 - Blossom

When I saw this cue card, I thought of flowers and rain right away.  I ordered a new stamp set and die from Simon Says Stamp that I knew I wanted to use for this challenge.

Take a look at my card:

Blossom

I love how the rain drops are falling down on my small flower pots that will case these plants to blossom!!

Since the die is so small I repeated the stamp across my card front.

1. I cut my card base to a 4 x 4 card size.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp To Thine Own Shelf to stamp the shelf my plants are sitting on in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Abby’s Spring Showers stamp set to stamp my plants, raindrops and sentiment.

3. The raindrops were stamped using Hero Arts Soft Pool ink.

4. I used Copic Markers: YR68,  Y02, E31, E33, and E35 to color in my images.

5. I rounded the corners.

I think this card is so cute.  I hope you do to!!
