Altenew May 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Ink/Enamel Pin Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew’s May 2019 Pin Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing the new stamps, die, stencil, ink and enamel pins.  If you arrived here from the talented Vicky Papaioannou blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Let’s take a look at my gift boxes:

Ombre Alpha

With Mother’s Day around the corner and two of my coworkers celebrating their birthday, I thought it was fitting to use the new stamp set and pretty paper to create super cute gift boxes.

I used Altenew’s new Ombre Alpha stamp set and the beautiful Blushing Blooms Paper Pack to create these tiny gift boxes.

Here’s how to create these gift boxes:

Pick 4 different patterned papers from the Blushing Blooms Paper Pack.

Use the envelope punch board to create the box shape. The only need these ruler measurements:

Set the 6×6 paper at the 1.5 measurements and punch. Then slide the paper down to the 4 measurements and punch.

Now all you have to do is turn the paper 90 degrees and slide the paper to the first score line punch and score and slide down to the second score line and do the same thing.

Repeat for the remaining side.

Then you want to cut the scoreline on the side of the box that has the bigger tabs. Cut just to the first score lines and repeat on the other side.

Fold the box adhere with tape and your finished.

For the tag, use the Mini MISTI to stamp the letters and use a tag punch to punch them out. I used a retired Stampin’ Up! punch.

Video:

Let’s take a look at some close-ups:

These two boxes are for my coworkers. They celebrated their birthday last week and I wanted to surprise them with a small token to celebrate them.

Ombre Alpha

I metal stamped the heart and created a necklace for each of them. The gift tag is a great addition to this little box.

Ombre Alpha

Here’s what the boxes look like from the top. They are nice and compact, perfect for a nice small gift. Each has tissue paper in them.

The other two are for my sisters, for Mother’s Day!

Ombre Alpha

So what do you think? Would you create cute boxes like this?

The Ton 3rd Anniversary Release Blog Hop

Hello everyone!!!  The Ton 3rd Anniversary Release Blog Hop is underway and it’s amazing. I made it back from Creativation just in time to participate in the hop so I’m excited.

If you arrived here from The Ton blog then you are on the right track.  If you arrived here on your own, you will want to start at the beginning, The Ton blog, as to not miss any of the amazing projects!

The Ton released 22 new stamps for their 3rd Anniversary which includes up to two free gifts with purchase (Daisy Duet and Peony Notes Bundle A+B+C). For more information on The Ton’s incentive gifts, head over to the The Ton’s blog.  All new release products are available now!!

Lets jump in:

Card One:

City Building

The inspiration for this card came from an artist I met at Creativation on Monday.  His use of colors and water was amazing on a large background stamp.

So, for my first card I used the City Buildings Cling Background stamp to create a subtle multicolor background topped with a sentiment from the Seriously Amazing stamp set.

City Building

For the sentiment to pop off of the card, black embossing powder was added on top and heat set. Add a couple of gumdrops to finish the card off.

Card two:

XOXO

For my second card, I used the XOXO Mini stamp set to create a clean and simple Valentine’s Day card.

Use 4 different distress ink colors to create the pink ombre look.  Once thats done, stamp both sentiments using the MISTI and black ink.  Make sure the sentiment is dry, then stamp the sentiment again using Versamark ink.  Add black embossing powder and heat set the sentiment.

City Building

Add a couple of gumdrops to finish the card off.

So what do you think?  Are you loving The Ton’s new release?  I would love to hear what you think.

Now what’s a blog hop without a giveaway!!

Distress Techniques Day 1

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with some distress tags from the Creative Chemistry 103 class.

I have to thank my design team member for encouraging me to take this 3rd class by Tim Holtz.  I’ve taken the first two back when they came in 2012 and 2013, and wasn’t sure what I would learn in this class that would be different.

I have to admit, I’ve learned quit a bit.  So I’m thankful for the push.

Day one we learned a couple of different techniques!!

Here are a couple of them:

  1. Distress DIY Ombre – my butterfly tags
  2. Distress Highlight Stamping – the face card and the leaf tag
  3. Distress Off-Set Stamping – the flower card

Distress Tags 1

I love how these tags turned out.  I can’t wait to see what the other days will bring.

This week’s cue card:

Week 204 - Row

Take a look at my card:

PicTapGo-Image (24)

What an easy cue card this week.  My new stamps from Papier Projekt arrived just in time for this challenge.  I fell in love the feather border die stamp and thought this set was perfect for this challenge.

To create this card:

  1. I cut the cardstock down smaller then a A2 size card.
  2. Then I stamped the feather stamp four times starting with the darkest color Colorbox Envy Pigment ink to the lightest Colorbox Envy Pigment ink.
  3. After that I stamped the sentiment from the With Love stamp set using the darkest blue ink.

Perfect, right?

Nice and easy!

What do you think?  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

If you’ve been hopping along, you would have arrived from Lisa’s blog and if you’d like to start from the beginning, head on over to the CardMaker’s blog.

I was challenged to use Clearsnap Chalk Ink to create a project.  So, I decided to show you how to achieve an Ombre effect using Clearsnap Chalk Ink.  I love this affect because it shows a gradual light to dark color that is so super easy to achieve.

Colorbox ink and stamp

Supplies used:

Lets get started:

Use the lightest pink to ink up the stamp.

Stamp the image to the bottom left corner of the white card base.

Adding the first ink

Then re-ink the stamp with the first color and the middle pink color towards the tail.

Stamp the inked stamp to the right of the first stamped image.

adding the second ink

Then ink up the stamp one more time in the solid darker pink color and stamp the image on the cardstock.

Take a look at all three of the stamped images from dark to light.

stamped images

Stamp your sentiment using Clearsnap Archival Ink in Wicked Black and sprinkle clear embossing powder on top.  Heat set the sentiment for a glossy look.

{Clean and Simple} CASology 195 – Sprinkle

Second Post for today
If your looking for the Mix and Match post, click here

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Clean and Simple Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is:

Week 195 - Sprinkle

Take a look at my card:

Celebrate (CAS)

When I saw the cue card I thought of cupcakes right away!!  I couldn’t find my cupcake stamps but I ran into this Papertrey Ink Good Times stamp set that I never used.  I think I bought this last year and never inked it up.  So I thought this was a perfect time!!

Here is how I created it:

  1. Using the Mini Misti, stamped the dots on the top of the card base using Hero Arts Ombre Butter to Orange Ink.
  2. Using Versafine Black Ink to stamp the sentiment right under the ombre sprinkles.
  3. Round the bottom corners using the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Super easy, clean and simple!!

What do you think?  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Waffle Flower Crafts – Photo Inspiration

Hello everyone!! I’m here with our new Waffle Flower Crafts Photo Inspiration Challenge!!!

This is our tenth challenge for 2015 and this happens to be my favorite photo to date.

Take a look:

Waffle Flower Craft

Look at how vibrant those colors are!

Take a look at my photo:

Hello (WFC)Oh man, I couldn’t help myself with this card.  I love those ombre colors in the photo above that I had to recreate the same look with one of the colors.

Here’s how I created this card:

1. My card base is cut to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50 scored at 5.50).

2. I cut the card panel to 2.25 x 5.50

3. I used Distress Ink Salty Ocean to create my ombre look.  I started with the full strength of the ink to the paper.  Then I tapped off on the side before added the color to the paper.  Then I lightly add color to the bottom of the paper.

4. I place my panel into my Misti and stamped a flower from Waffle Flower Crafts Flower Circles Stamp Set with Versamark Ink.

5. I added Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set it.

6. I used the same stamp set to stamp my sentiment with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

7. I pop my card panel up with fun foam and I added Pretty Pink Posh Winter Snow Mix sequin randomly.

Super cool!!  I love how this card turned out.

So what do you think? Please let me know.

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I’m also linking this card up to Virginia’s View Challenge #15.

CASology 143 – Ombre

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!!

Week 143 - Ombre

I love this week’s cue card.  Creating ombre cards are always fun.  I love how the colors go from dark to light or vise versa.

Its all about baby stuff for me this week so I decided to stick with that theme.  Last week I received the new Tim Holtz Mini Blueprints 8 stamp set and I fell in love with the onesie stamp!!

Take a look at what I created this week:

Welcome baby (CAS)

I just love how this baby onesie turned out, don’t you? Soooo, do you want to know what colors I used on my onesie?

To color my onesie, I applied the 10 + 2 rule to my Copic coloring!!

What is that you ask?  Well instead of staying with the natural color blend, I decided to step it up a notch.

1. I started with B00 then add 10 to those zeros then I added 2, which gave me B12.

2. Then I add 10 to the 12 then add 2, which gave me B24.

3. That gave me B00, B12 and B24 – 10 + 2!!

By do that, I intensified my colors.  The darker color is truly dark and will stand out more.  That goes for the mid-tone color as well.

I’m totally impressed by those colors.  I want to practice that technique with other colors to see how it looks.

The rest of the card was easy to pull together.  My card base and card panel were die cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stax.

I mounted the card panel to the card front using a piece of white fun foam.

I stamped the sentiment using So Suzy Stamps Welcome Baby stamp featured in her new Baby Featurette Series which you can find here.

Super doper cute and simple.

CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Inspiration Photo

Hello everyone!! I’m here with CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Inspiration photo for our April Challenge.

Our theme is Take a Technique.

This months challenge is going to be super fun!!  Its all about getting Your Color On!

You can color anything as long as its bright, vibrant and full of color.  No monochrome, dark or grungy projects, they need to be BRIGHT!! You don’t have to use every color in the rainbow all at once…but think along those lines!!

Take a look at my project:

Smile (CS)

This card was inspired by this newspaper cover:

FullSizeRender(4)

When I saw those ombre letters and flowers, I knew I wanted to make a card based on it.

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my card base using Mama Elephants Femme Frames scallop die.  Both sides of my card base were cut.   I ran it through my Big Shot 5 times to make sure the cut went through both sides of my card base.

2. I used the square die cut in that same set and cut my card panel.

3. I die cut my poppy using Penny Black Field of Dreams Decorative Die.

4. I used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to create the ombre look.  I masked off each petal before inking as to not transfer the ink in the wrong places.

5. I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to color in the poppy stem.

6. I adhered the poppy to my card panel with Tombo MultiPurpose Glue.

7. I stamped my sentiment using Technique Tuesday Budding Poppies stamp set.

8. I added Doodlebug Bubblegum Sprinkle to my card for added interest and to cover a spot on the card base that I don’t know where it came from, LOL!

I totally love how this card turned out. Its nice and bright but subtle!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

We have a great prize pack for you.

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for April is:

IndigoBlu

Indigo Blue

Random Winners will win these two stamp sets!

Giant Peony

Peony Posey

Our second winner is our Design Winner. This winner is chosen by our DT, who all vote for their favorite design from all of the entries. This winner will have their winning project published in Craft Stamper Magazine, they will have a GDT slot for an upcoming challenge, and will also feature in their very own Winners Profile blog post!

Now if that isn’t a reason to play along I’m not sure what is!!

I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I would like to link this card to Virginia’s View Challenge #14: Layers and Dimensions.
