Hello everyone!! I’m here with CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Challenge for our August.

Our theme is Take a Technique!

This months challenge is going to be super fun!!  Its all about Pens and Pencils!

This means using your pens and pencils on your projects!! You could draw or sketch a design, or use your pens and pencils for coloring.  Copics, Distress Markers, Spectrum Noirs, Watercolor Pencils, Paint Pens, and markers, whatever floats your boat!!  You could add detail with fine liner pens, gel pens or smudgy Stabilo pencil…..the only limit is your imagination!! Remember there, MUST be real stamping on your projects.  Digital images CAN be used, but must be used alongside rubber/acrylic stamping!

Take a look at my card:

You're Awesome

I used Mama Elephant Three Amigos stamp set to stamp and die cut my little raccoon.

I used my Copic Markers: W1, W3, W5  to color the raccoon.

I used My Favorite Things Peek-a-Boo Circle Window Die  to cut a window out of my card panel.

I added a piece of Stampin Up! Cherry On Top DSP behind the scallop circle die cut.

I adhered the card panel to my card base with fun foam.

I added the cut out skunk to the card base with Stampin’ Up! dimensional and adhered it to the card front.

Nice and easy!!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

We have a great prize pack for you.

CASology 159 – Aquatic

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card for you!!!

This week’s cue card is all about water and anything pertaining to water!!

Week 159 - Aquatic

Take a look at my card:

Sail away with me (CAS)

Here is how I created this card:

This is a simple one layer card.  I stamped the waves three times, slight on top of each other. Then I stamped the boat right on top of the waves.  I used Copic marker R27 to color in the bottom portion of my boat.

I stamped the main sentiment first then the smaller sentiment last.

That was it!!  A nice card to reproduce!!

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Your Next Stamp Birthday Blog Hop!!!

Aug92015-hopgraphic

Hello everyone!!  Yayyy, my second blog hop featuring new products from Your Next Stamps tickles me pink!!

If you’ve been hopping along, you would have arrived from Deborah’s blog and if you’d like to start from the beginning, you can click on over to the linky at the bottom and start at Jeanie’s blog.

I’m over the top excited about this birthday blog hop and this great release!  All of the sets and dies are amazing!!  My favorite one is the Cute Alpha Stamp Set and die!  I used that set on one of my cards below.

Are you ready for my big reveal?  I made two cards to inspire you!

Take a look at my first card:

Your Paw-some (YNS)

I have to admit, I’m not a dog or cat fan.  I’m totally afraid of them but this card makes me change my mind for just a minute, LOL.  I love the how this card turned out.  I also love how this stamp set comes with so many small pieces that can be used for so many different card looks.

YNS Supplies: Phoebe with a Wagon Stamp Set and Die Set

Other Supplies: Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock, Black and White Cardstock

Take a look at my second card:

Back to school 3 (YNS)

This is my favorite card.  I created this card for my daughters new teacher.  It’s a back to school card that my daughter will give to her new teacher.  I really thing she will enjoy this.

I love making shaker cards.  They are super fun and interactive.  For this card I decided that I wanted the entire card to be a shaker card.  I created the watercolor panel and didn’t want to add anything to it.  So I decided to project it behind the plastic.

Check out my process:

Watercolor back to school (YNS)

I used Versamark Ink and inked up my entire stamp set without taking the stamps off of the sheet they came on. That allowed me to keep letters and numbers nice and even.

Watercolor Back to school 2 (YNS)

After I stamped onto the watercolor paper, I added embossing powder and heat set it.

Watercolor Back to School 3 (YNS)

I used my paint brush and added a good amount of water to the watercolor paper.  Then I added my distress ink colors one at a time to the watercolor paper.  I did two watercolor washes, heating setting in between each wash.  I totally love how this turned out.  How could you add anything directly on top of it?  So the only way to decorated it with out touching it was to create a full shaker card.

Back to school (back)

My daughter did write on the back of the watercolor panel before I sealed it in the plastic. I blocked out both names to protect them.  I just wanted you to see what the back looks like.

My daughter loves how this card turned out.

Lets take another look at the card:

Other Supplies: We R Memory Keepers Tool Bundle, Lucy Abrams Just Peachy Sequin, Copic Markers R27, Y17, C3, Vellum, Versamark Ink, Hero Arts White Embossing Powder

So what do you think?  I had so much fun creating these cards to inspire all of you and show you the versatility of the stamp sets! Which one of these cards are favorite?  I would love to hear from you!

Be sure not to miss any blog along the way, because three lucky commenters will have a chance to win a YNS $50 YNS gift certificate. Winner will be announced on the YNS blog on August 12th.  So don’t for get to leave a comment on each of the blogs participating in the blog hop.

So with allll of that being said.  On to my card.  I LOVE how it turned out!

Take a look at my card:

Love (TIMI)

I used WPlus9 Doodle Buds Stamp Set for this months card!!  It is so appropriate.  The flowers look hand drawn don’t they.  Nope its a stamp!!! Wait the stem looks hand drawn too!!  I love it!!

I used Prima Watercolor Pencils and a waterbrush to achieve the watercolor look on my flowers.  Then I fussy cut them out and adhered them to my card with dimensionals.  I stamped the stem using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink. I die cut the Love from WPlus9 Love Showers Layers Die out of black cardstock.

Nice and easy!!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

YNS: Plant Some Kindness, Teal Gumdrops

Other Supplies: Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather, Copic Markers, My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink, Clear Wink of Stella, Foam Tape

I have to say this was a hard sketch for me.  I couldn’t figure out what to do or what stamp set I wanted to use.

So I decided to go with a stamp set that I haven’t used yet.

This card was easy to create.  I simply cut my cardstock and pattern paper to different size and adhered them to the card base.

I stamped my image using MFT Hybrid Black Ink and colored the images with some Copic markers: Y06, R29, G17E25, E31.

I pop the stamped panel up with foam tape.

I add three gumdrops to the bottom right corner.

So are you ready for the new challenge?

You have until August 20th at midnight EST to play along and submit your project on the YNS Blog post.  One random participant will win a $15 gift certificate to the Your Next Stamp Store.  If YNS stamps or dies are the focal point then the winner receives and additional $5 gift certificate fro a total of $20.  The winner will be announced on the YNS Blog the Sunday after the challenge closes.

My fellow DT members created samples using these dies so you should check them out!

Kymona Tracey ← You’re here!

Now onto the dies I did get to play with!!

Top Dog Dies Cupcake Die SetHappy Birthday (TDD)

This was the first die I played with as soon I received my happymail!!  Its the Top Dog Dies Cupcake Die Set. If you follow me, you’ve seen this card before.  I was given permission to showcase this card before the release.  That was exciting.

This die contains 7 dies, but one of the dies have 5 small cupcake toppers.  Super cute and versatile die set.  I love the different frosting topping.

Top Dog Dies Balloon Die SetGo and Celebrate (TDD) Lets Party Celebrate (TDD)

Up next is the Top Dog Dies Balloon Die Set!!  How super cute are these cards?  I used the biggest balloon die to create all of my cards. This set has 6 dies ranging from big to little.  I showcased these balloons last week to get you excited about the new release.

I will showcase the other dies on my Wednesday Series!  So stay tune for that.

Now onto the last die set and card!!  This set and card is my favorite of them all.

Take a look:

Top Dog Dies Unicorn Die Set

Unicorn (TDD)

I just love this card.  I love the colors, the shaker pocket, the splatters and the unicorn!!  I’m super please with how this card turn out.

I used Top Dog Dies Unicorn Die Set to create my unicorn.  I cut the mane and horn out of my watercolor panels that I created weeks ago.  I have so much of these panels left.  If you haven’t seen them, take a look.

Watercolor pieces

These panels have gone a long way!

To create this card, I die cut the unicorn out of white cardstock and the mane and horn out of the watercolor panel you see above.

To make the shaker window I cut out the white panel.  I used my Fuse tool to create the circle pocket.  I added Lucy Adams Cherry Blossom Sequin Mix to the packet panel.

I used Mama Elephant Sightseeing Stamp Set to stamp my sentiment with My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.

I put my card together using foam adhesive.

Once everything was in place, I used my WPlus9 Bloomsberry Spray Mist to create the splatters on my card.

I have to admit, I sprayed wrong and I thought I messed up the entire card.  The big splatters that you see happened because the ink was seeping through the top.  I didn’t realize it until I went to shake the bottle up and it spilled all over my card front.

It turned out to be a Happy Mistake!! I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Wait!!!!!  Before I go I have a giveaway!!

All you have to do is leave a comment below letting me know if you like unicorns.  This giveaway will end 11:59pm August 7, 2015.

I’m giving away the unicorn die set!!

So what do you think of my card?  Please let me know below.

Don’t forget, the full release is will happen tomorrow, August 9th!  Please be sure to come back so you can see what my fellow DT members and myself have created for this release!!

CASology 158 – Precious

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card for you!!!

This week’s cue card is super simple!!

Week 158 - Precious

Take a look at my card:

Hello (CAS)

When I thought of the word “precious” I thought of cute and cuddly.  I went straight for WPlus9 Bubble Talk.  I’ve had this set since its release but have never used it!  So why not use it today!

Creating this card was easy.  Here’s how:

I used My Favorite Things Blueprints 14 to cut two pieces of cardstock to form my card base.  I scored the back piece of cardstock a half and inch from the top to create a crease for the card to open. I adhered the two pieces of cardstock with adhesive.

I stamped the elephant and balloon with My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.  I colored both with Copic markers: R29, C3, C5, O.  I used the ) Copic to create the texture on my baby elephant.  After coloring the balloon, I stamped the sentiment and the small hearts with the same ink.

Super doper easy.

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

For more inspiration, check out my fellow Design Team members blog for more awesome work.
