Where Creativity Meets C9 Watercolor Challenge

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the Where Creativity Meets C9 Blog Challenge Design Team!! Our challenge this month is Watercolor!!

Watercoloring is one of my favorite mediums to use.  It is so forgiving and no matter what happens it is your masterpiece.  There are no mistakes with watercoloring and that is what is so much fun when I work with them.

For my card today, I created my own background using a couple of colors and a paintbrush. Super easy and totally fun.

Take a look at my card:

For this card, I used Prima’s Confection Odyssey Watercolor, a 12 flat brush and Concord and 9th By Your Side stamp set.

Here’s how I created this card:

  1. Select the colors you want to use.
  2. Wet your brush, pick up a color and create squares on your card front.
  3. Once you have as many squares as you want, heat set so that the watercolor square could dry.
  4. Stamp the sentiment using Altenew Permenant Black ink.
  5. Round the corners using We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board.

Super quick and simple!

What do you think?  Please let know below.

I can’t wait to see how you interpret our challenge theme this month.

Second Post for Today

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the Where Creativity Meets C9 Blog Challenge Design Team!! Our challenge this month is Use Your First C9 Set!!

Wow, I couldn’t decided which stamp set to use.  I first met Angie and Greg back on September 9, 2015 right as they were releasing their second set of stamps.  We found each other on Instagram and they asked if I would guest design for them and they sent me the Eat Cake and Celebrate stamp set and die from their first release which was in August and Map Love which was their release that went live that day.

I was so excited. So out of the two sets, I used Map Love first so that is what I decided to go with for this challenge.

These set are no longer available from their store.  They have discontinued them but they will always be my favorite since I started out with these.

Take a look at my cards:

I created a couple notecards and envelopes. I used the Cricut Maker and Design Space to cut and draw the lines on the cards. Then I stamped the sentiments on all of the cards. Nice and easy.

So what is your first stamp set?

What do you think?  Please let know below.

I can’t wait to see how you interpret our challenge theme this month.

Concord & 9th 2nd Birthday Celebration

Hello everyone!! Today I’m so excited to be here celebrating Concord & 9th 2nd Birthday!! Yes, they turn 2 today!!

Time flies when your having fun is such a true statement.  I remember when they first started out and to see them grow in such a way feels good as a customer.

I’m so happy that I get to celebrate with them!

Take a look at the card I created:

Concord & 9th Seriously I Thank You

Concord and 9th, Seriously Thank You for trusting me to showcase your products within my creations!! I truly appreciate it.

This stamp set is totally amazing.  The sentiment is so meaningful and powerful.  It lets the receiver know that you really thank them.

Here’s how I created this card:

  1. Use distress inks to create the watercolor background on watercolor paper.
  2. Then heat set it so that the watercolor dries completely.
  3. After that, prep the watercolor panel using an anti-static tool.
  4. Stamp the sentiment using Versamark ink.
  5. Pour silver embossing powder of the stamped sentiment.
  6. Brush off the excess and heat set the powder.
  7. Die cut the panel using Neat and Tangle Scalloped Die.
  8. Cut and score the card base to 4.25 x 5.50 scored at 5.5o.
  9. Use a star embossing folder and emboss the card front with stars.
  10. Adhere the watercolor panel to the front of the card base using 3M foam tape.
  11. Add some clear gumdrops to finish the card off.

Nothing to it!!

Layered – Where Creativity Meets C9

Second post for today
If your looking for the Altenew Design Team announcement post, click here

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the Where Creativity Meets C9 Blog Challenge Design Team!! Our challenge this month is Layered!

Take a look at my card:

turnabout stamp set

To create this card, I used Concord & 9th Oh, Hello Turnabout stamp set paired with Clearsnap Colorbox Archival Die Inks.

  1. I followed the directions on the back of the stamp set packaging as to ensure that I stamped correctly on my card panel.
  2. I used 3 different color inks from Clearsnap to stamp each turnaround.
  3. When using this stamp set, once you stamp the first set, you turn the cardstock not the stamp to make the right stamp marks.
  4. Once card panel was completed,  I die cut a piece of vellum using a circle die.
  5. Then I stamped the main sentiment using Versamark and added white embossing powder. Heat set.
  6. Adhere the vellum to the card front using foam dots.

Super quite and easy.  I love this stamp set for the sentiments included.  They are so powerful and encouraging.

Try Something New – Where Creativity Meets C9

Hello everyone!!  Happy New Year to all of you!!

I’m here today with the Where Creativity Meets C9 Blog Challenge Design Team!! This is first challenge for 2017!! Exciting right!!  I think so!!

So without further-a-do, take a look at our challenge theme:

try-something-new

Take a look at my card:

best-couple-wcmc9

For this challenge, the team was able to play with the new release that’s live right now.  I was played with the set called Best Banners Stamp Set!  I love everything about this set.

I wanted to keep my card clean and simple, so I stamped the four different banners at the top and bottom of the card. Then stamped the sentiment in the center. I stamped the heart and added glossy accents inside of it.  Once that dried, I added a couple of splatters for added interest.

Nice and easy.

This month’s theme is so much fun.  Watercoloring is such a free flowing medium and I just love it.

For this card I used Sakura Koi watercolors to add color to the Bristol White card base and let it dry.

Then I stamped the Tree Hugs Stamp Set and Brushed Blossom Stamp Set with Clearsnap Colorbox Archival Black Ink to create this card.

Nice and simple!!

What do you think?  Please let know below.

Hello everyone!!  I’m super excited to be here today with the Where Creativity Meets C9 Blog Challenge Design Team!!  This is our very first challenge and we couldn’t be more happier to share our love for Concord and 9th!!

Exciting right!!  I think so!!

So without further-a-do, take a look at our challenge theme:

Take a look at my card:

love-in-my-heart

Are you wondering how my card ties in with the theme for this month.  I am an out of the box crafter.  I try not to go with the obvious. I’m celebrating LOVE!! Oh to love is a celebration, especially when you feel it in your heart!!

We celebrate the love of our children, the love of our parents, the love of our sibling and the love of our life!!  So I created a card that mirrors that celebratory feeling.

Here’s how:

  • Cut your cardbase to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50, scored at 5.50).
  • Using Concord and 9th Give Thanks stamp set, stamp the heart using Clearsnap Colorbox Doodlebug Pigment Petal Point Ink.
  • Stamp the heart three times, starting at the bottom with the lightest color, moving up to the darker color.
  • Using the Mini Misti, stamp the second line of the sentiment first with Clearsnap Colorbox Archival Wick Ink. Re-ink if needed.
  • Then stamp the love sentiment but inking it up with the same three colors, slightly overlapping each color.
  • Once the pigment ink dries, use a paint brush and some black ink to add ink splatters over the entire card.

Nice and simple!!

What do you think?  Please let know below.
