Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with Addicted to CAS!!  Their Code Word is Green!!

ATCAS - code word greenTake a look at my card:

You're My Lucky Charm

This card was pretty simple to make.

1. My card base is an A2 size card 4.25 x 5.5 Simon Says Stamps Green Apple cardstock.

2. I used the smaller square Mama Elephant Sew Fancy die to cut my Canson watercolor paper card panel.

3. I used Lawn Fawn My Lucky Charm to stamp the four leaf clover and the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

4. I colored the four leaf clover using Intense Apple Green and Willow pencil and a water-brush.

4. I added some green flat sequin, I’m unsure where they are from.

I really love this card.  I’m send it to my Aunt who saved the day for me a couple months ago.

Sparkle and Shine…

Hello everyone!  I’m playing with Addicted to CAS.  I haven’t played with them in such a long time.  I’m glad I’m able to play this week.  I love their code word this week, its DOTS!!

ATCAS - code word dotsWhen I saw that code word, I knew that I had to join.  I just received this beautiful die in the mail that is perfect for this challenge.

Take a look at my card:

Sparkle and Shine

Take a look at all of those dots.  I love how the red glitter paper shines from behind.

This is how this card was created:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card, 4.24 x 5.50.

2. I used Memory Box Small Circle Burst die to cut out all of my dots and circle.

3.  I cut a small piece of red glitter paper from American Crafts to go behind the dots and circle.

4. I used my new Simon Says Stamp Sparkle & Shine stamp set to stamp my sentiment with the Mini Distress Embossing Ink from the card kit.

5. I used Liquid Platinum embossing powder on the stamped sentiment.

I have to say I truly love this liquid platinum embossing powder.  It so smooth and pretty.  I am truly impressed.  This is must have in my craft room from now on.

6. To finish my card, I tied a bow with Silver ??? and rounded two of the corners with my corner chomper.

So what do you think?  I love how this card turned out. Let me know below.  I would love to hear from you.

What is Texture?

Happy Friday everyone!!! Today couldn’t get here fast enough.  The week was dragging and cold.  To keep my cool, I joined Addicted to CAS Challenge this week.  Their code word is Texture. How interesting!!  How often do you get a card with texture on it.  Think about it.

So, the question is what is texture?

According to Webster, texture is the visual and especially tactile quality of a surface.  For example a rough texture.

Well that is interesting, who wants a card with a rough texture.  When you think of cards, you think pretty, smooth, subtle, funny, and bright.  So how does texture play apart on a greeting card.

I will show you, take a look at the card I came up with.

Life

Can you say texture?  Yes, you can!! Guess what, it is rough!!!  It’s a pretty rough card!!

Life side

You can see the thickness of this textured butterfly.

Life close up

I saw Laura Bassen create a card like this and I wanted to give it a try.

1. I die cut 4 butterflies from Papertrey Ink’s Life is Beautiful die cut to create a butterfly stencil.

2. I attached the stencil to my white cardstock.

3.  I mixed two distress inks colors with embossing paste.

4. I spread a thick coat of the color embossing paste over my heart stencil.

5. Once I was done applying the paste, I lifted the butterfly stencil and WALA!!

Have you notice that one of my butterfly antenna’s are missing.  I think that is the beauty of this card and that is why I use the sentiment “Life”!  Life isn’t perfect and sometimes neither are we.

I hope you like my card just as much as I like it.

BTH: My seven year old daughter made a card for this challenge as well, take a look here.
