CS Take It Make It: Masking and Stenciling

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our CS Take It Make It: Take a Stamp Challenge for the month of July.

This month’s theme is Take a Technique: Stenciling or Masking!!  That means you can use a stencil or mask somewhere on your creation with a stamped image or sentiment anywhere on your creation.

Take a look at my card:

Hello (masked stencil) (TIMI)

So stenciling is pretty but mix that with masking and you have a great design.

Here is how I created this card:

I used Your Next Stamp Circle die to cut a circle out of some masking paper.

Then I placed the Inkadinkado masking paper on top of the card front.

After that I placed the stencil on top of the masked card front.

Once those two were in place, I blended the two distress ink colors on top of the stencil.

Stenciling and Masking (TIMI)

Then I took the mask off to reveal the beautiful circle of dots.

Completed (TIMI)

To finish the card off, I stamped the sentiment from a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set on top of the masked/stenciled dots.

Super simple and easy!!!

Sooooo, what do you think? Please let me know below.

Prizes:

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for August is: GiogioCraft!

We are family!!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with Addicted To CAS Challenge.  The code word is: Family!!

ATCAS - code word familyWhen I saw this code word, I knew I had to use my new Create a Smile Monster Party stamp set.  Those monsters are so cute!  They make such a great family!!

Take a look:

Monster Family

Aren’t they cutest family!!  This reminds me of a family portraiture where everyone is doing there only thing.

I choose that sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps Rock Solid because its so fitting for me.  I have so many people in my life that treat me like family and I love that for that.  Its such a nice feeling.

So here is how I created this card:

1. I used Simon Says Stamp School House Red cardstock for my card base.

2. Then I used Stampin’ Up! Decorative Dots Embossing Folder to create this funny dots on the front to my card base.  I though these dots were so fitting for my Monster Family!

3. I used Stampin’ Up! Deco Labels Framelit Die and cut out the largest frame on the front of my card base.

4. I stamped my Monster Family on Neenah Solar White cardstock and then colored them using my Copic markers.  I’m not perfect but I getting better with them, LOL!!

In order from left to right:

small monster: Go2, G04

big monster: B00, B02, B04, R29

small monster: R24, R27

big monster: Y13, Y15, Y19

flowers: G04

5. I stamped the small star-like stamp and the sentiment stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

6. I used foam adhesive to my color panel and attached it to the red card base.

7. I added glossy accents to the blue monster’s eye and Clear Wink of Stella to all of my monsters.

Sparkle and Shine…

Hello everyone!  I’m playing with Addicted to CAS.  I haven’t played with them in such a long time.  I’m glad I’m able to play this week.  I love their code word this week, its DOTS!!

ATCAS - code word dotsWhen I saw that code word, I knew that I had to join.  I just received this beautiful die in the mail that is perfect for this challenge.

Take a look at my card:

Sparkle and Shine

Take a look at all of those dots.  I love how the red glitter paper shines from behind.

This is how this card was created:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card, 4.24 x 5.50.

2. I used Memory Box Small Circle Burst die to cut out all of my dots and circle.

3.  I cut a small piece of red glitter paper from American Crafts to go behind the dots and circle.

4. I used my new Simon Says Stamp Sparkle & Shine stamp set to stamp my sentiment with the Mini Distress Embossing Ink from the card kit.

5. I used Liquid Platinum embossing powder on the stamped sentiment.

I have to say I truly love this liquid platinum embossing powder.  It so smooth and pretty.  I am truly impressed.  This is must have in my craft room from now on.

6. To finish my card, I tied a bow with Silver ??? and rounded two of the corners with my corner chomper.

So what do you think?  I love how this card turned out. Let me know below.  I would love to hear from you.

I Love You Birdie!!

Hello everyone!! I’m here with a brand new stamp company based in Germany called Create A Smile.  They have fun designs, cute images and punny sentiments that you will love.

Blog-Badge

Over on their Create a Smile blog, they are having a Guest Designer Search for their September Release!!

How exciting is that!!  When I saw that, I knew I would love to be Guest Designer for them.  So I created a project with their free digi birdie to be included in the running!

Take a look at my card:

I Love You Birdie

When I saw this little birdie on their blog, I fell in love with him.  He is the cutest bird I’ve seen.  His big eyes pulled me in.

I used Copic marker Y13 and Y19 to color him in.

I fussy cut him out because I wanted him to pop him off of my card.

I created my tag using Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1 and Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue cardstock.

I stamped my “I Love You” sentiment from Papertrey Ink Building Blocks stamp set in Versafine Black Ink. I added foam adhesive to the back of my birdie and adhered him to the tag.

I used my white gel pen to create eyes on my birdie.

I punched a hole in the top of my tag and add some retired So Saffron ribbon and Tempting Turquoise bakers twine.

For my card base, I used Simon Says Stamp Medium Dots Stencil to create a subtle background with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and my mini distress blending tool on a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock.

I added foam adhesive behind my tag and WaLa, I was done.

So what do you think?  Will my card win over anyone’s heart?  I hope so!!

Let me know what you think below.

Do You See Spots and Dots?

Hello everyone! I’m here today playing along with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

wed-newchallenge-headerThis week the challenge is SPOTS AND DOTS!

This was a fun challenge to play with.  At first I wondered what in the world to do.  I wasn’t sure want to make that has spots and dots.

I pondered for a while.

Take a look at my card:

HB spots and dots

I looked at my stash, then remembered I needed to make a birthday card for someone special this coming Saturday so I decided to use my Simon Says Stamp Balloon dies.

Once I made that decision, I looked on Pinterest for some inspiration.  I immediately saw balloons with spots.  So I knew I would create spots on my balloon.

To do that, I use my Simon Says Stamp Medium Dots Stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste to create my white spots on my balloon.

To create my spots, I used my Stampin’ Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I added some Stampin’ Up! White Bakers Twine to bottom of my ballon and tied a bow.

For my sentiment, I wanted to add a pop of color so I decided on red, that surely would pop, lol.  I used Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Die Cut to create my sentiment.

So what do you think?

Let me know. I would love to hear from you.

I’m here today with CAS(E) this Sketch #81.  They have done pairing up with Fusion this week for an amazing joint challenge that is very pretty and elegant to me.

CTS_Fusion

I decided that I wanted my card to be elegant and very clean and simple.  I’m so glad to see a butterfly in this sketch because PTI Life is Beautiful die is my favorite die to work with.  The butterfly is very elegant to me.

Take a look at my interpretation of the sketch:
