Copic Coloring for Card Making!!

Hello everyone!!!  I’m so excited today!!  My new Online Card Class started today.  Yayyyyyyyy!

Copic

I haven’t really used my Copic Markers since I became certified.  I was still intimated by them.  When I saw that this was the next class, I knew I had to take it.  My goal for this year is to master Copic Coloring.  That is what I’m working on!

To get ready for this class, I went out an bought a new set of markers.  Now I have 106 markers up from 30.  Now I have to have them all.  I also need to create a storage for them.

Copic Markers

So today is the first class and we learned soooo much.  We learned how to blend with two colors, three colors within a color family and we also learned to blend with colors outside the different color families.  Amazing!!

After class today, I was on the search for more markers.  So I found these and bought them too.

Copic Anniversary

Aren’t these pretty.  I get them tomorrow, one day shipping, Amazon!  Somebody please stop me!!

As soon I finished my practice sheets I will share some of my work. If you want to participate in the class it’s not to late.  Head on over to Online Card Classes and register.

Stay tuned for my Copic Coloring work!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Who Do You Feel Strongly About?

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with Casology week 104.  The Cue Card is Pet!! I’m also linking this card to Addicted to Stamps and their challenge is CLEAN AND SIMPLE (CAS).

Week 104 - Pet

Addicted to Stamps

When I first saw the word I immediately thought of a pet animal.  I figured everyone would choose that so I decided to look up the meaning of the word “pet” to see what else it means.

I decided to go with pet as an adjective: to feel particularly strongly about someone or something.

Take a look at my card:

Love you with heartss

Nothing like a father’s love for his only daughter!

I decided to do a one layer card with a lot of white space, one focal point and a sentiment, CLEAN AND SIMPLE (CAS) at its best.

My Koala’s are from my new Sweet Stamp Shop Koala stamp set and my sentiment and hearts are from Lawn Fawn’s Love You Tons stamp set.

I used my Copic markers #B12, B14, #R20, R24 and C3.

I wanted to color with my Copic’s for practice.  I need to color more often. I want to master this skill.

This was my first card but I didn’t like how the sentiment “little sister” turned out but I wanted to share it with you.

Plus the belly is blue and not pink.

Love you little sister

What do you think?  Let me know!

Shaker, Shaker…

Hello everyone!!! I’m super duper excited!! My card was chosen as one of the CAS(E) this Sketch Favorites yesterday!!!  I have to say this card is one of my favorite cards of all times.  The white and gold are so pretty together.  I’m so glad I participated.

I’m back today with CAS(E) this Sketch #82.  This sketch was created by N@ Ali.

CTS_Sketch82n

When I saw this sketch, I know I wanted to play with Mama Elephant’s Just Hatched stamp set.  I ordered it back in March when it was release but haven’t had a chance to use it.  So I saw it fitting to use it today.

Take a look at my card:

Chirp, Chirp

It’s a shaker card!!! This is the first time I’ve created a shaker card.  It wasn’t hard at all.  I have to thank Laura Bassen for the inspiration.  She always makes shakers cards look so easy to make.

1. I colored my chick with Copic markers # YR16, Y13, Y19, YG17.

2. My speech bubble was created using a die from Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Journaling Card Dies.

3. I stamped the sentiment on the card base using the die cut speech bubble as a reference so that the sentiment was centered.

4. A piece of acetate was attached to the front panel.

5. I added a lot of foam adhesive around the speech bubble so that the sequin wouldn’t fall out.  Adhesive was also added to the edge of the panel so that it will sit nice and neat on the card base.

So what do you think?  I’m impressed at my first shaker card.  I can’t wait to try this with a watercolor panel.

Copic Certification

I’ve been missing in action for a couple of days because I’ve been in Chicago getting Copic Certified!!!  I’m so excited about this.  Like I’ve said before, I’ve been so afraid to use the markers I have because I wasn’t sure how to use them.

The class was hard but so worth it for me.  It was hard because my blending didn’t look as good as the other students sitting at my table.  So, I decided to really work really hard to get my blending down pack.  The more I practice the better I became.  I’m so proud of myself.

From now on, I am going to use my Copic markers for my coloring.  My instructor was amazing.  Big shout outs to Debbie Olson, she really helped me get going.

I’m taking another class in June in Maryland on Whimsical Hair and Faces.  I can’t wait.  Coloring hair was tough, so the more I practice the better for me.

Below are some samples of my practice cards:

I am really glad I traveled so far to learn how to use my Copic markers.  It was worth the trip, time and money.  Plus Chicago was really nice too.  I stayed in Rosemont.  The Doubletree by Hilton was awesome too.  The staff was great.  I was able to do some shopping at the Outlet store which was right across the street from the hotel.

I’ll be posting another card later today.

Yayyy, I’ll be Copic Certified

I’m so excited today!!! I’m in Chicago for the next two days for my Copic Certification classes!!!!!!

Yayyyy, I’m finally going to put all of my Copic markers to good use.  I’ve been so afraid to use my markers and I’m not sure why, but that all changes today.

I will post throughout the day today about my progress.  Did I already say that I’m excited?  We’ll I am!

Clean & Simple 3 Card Class – Day 7 Creative Coloring Part 2

For the past couple of days, I’ve been so busy, that I haven’t been able to post a thing.   My online card class ended this past Friday and I have not posted my homework for 4 days.  I have so much to share.  So let me get right to it.

Today’s card is another card from day 7.  I love the creative coloring class so much, that I had to make another card using that technique, wait, another 2 cards!

This class taught us how to make clean and simple one layer cards.  When I started to create today’s card I was so excited that I didn’t realize it wasn’t a one layer card.  As a matter of fact, the card didn’t even have space for someone to write in it.  I thought to myself why, didn’t I realize that in the beginning.  I was busy creating that I totally missed it.

Take a look:

Birthday with heart

When you open this card the sentiment is left on the inside of the card.  The card looks nice but it isn’t functional.  The hearts where colored with the same Copic colors. So, I decided to make the card all over again.  The second card is a one layer card that is very functional.

Take a look:

Birthday with flower

What do you think? I like both cards but in terms of the clean and simple one layer, the second card is the winner.  Take a look at both of the cards together.  The flowers were colored and cut using the same Copic colors.

Clean & Simple 3 Card Class – Day 7 Creative Coloring

I’m so excited about today’s class because we learned how to do some creative coloring.  I love coloring because it is so easy to do and it reminds me of my childhood.  Back then we were not worried about perfection and was happy with what our finally project looked like even if we went outside the lines!!!

The card that I made is sooooo cute!!!  Kristin Werner taught us how to do simple Copic coloring.  I’ve grown to love Copic coloring but have been afraid to use them.  I’m not sure why, they won’t bit.  Sorry I digress, back to today’s card.

Take a look for yourself:

Smile Die Cut

Doesn’t this card make you want to smile and keep smiling.  Anyone who gets this card will have a brighter day.  I will definitely will use my Copic markers to create more cards like this.  The colors I used for my card are RV66,BV17, YR16, BG49 and YR23.

Please leave a comment letting me know what you think of my Copic Colored “Smile”!
