Fall Coloring: CS Take It Make It Challenge

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our CS Take It Make It: Take a Stamp Challenge for the month of September.

This month’s theme is Autumnal Projects!!  Create anything you want using Autumnal or Fall imagery, OR using seasonal/earth tone colors: reds, oranges, greens, yellows and browns! This should be fun!

Take a look at my card:

thanks-a-bushel-timi

This theme made me think Lawn Fawn Thanks a Bushel stamp set.  My nieces, daughter and I go apple picking this time of year and we love it.  So I thought this was perfect for this challenge.

To create this card, I die cut a piece of Bristol paper using Simon Says Stamps Rectangle Stitched die. Then I stamped the basket of apples, loose apple, hearts and sentiment using the Mini Misti and sentiment using Clearsnap Colorbox Archival Black Ink.  After that I used Tombow Irojiten Tranquil and Vivid Coloring Pencils to color in my images.  To complete the card, I adhered the card panel to a Lawn Fawn precut card.

Nice, easy but totally amazing.

Prizes:

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for October is: That’s Crafty.

a2z Scrapbooking February 2016 Challenge

If your looking for So Suzy Stamps January Challenge, click here

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with a2z Scrapbooking today with our February Challenge!!!

Our new challenge is all about Masking!!!!!

Check out the card I created for this challenge:

You're Pretty Sweet

First let me tell you that my daughter, really had me dying with laughter.  She said, “Mom, why did you color the watermelons orange”?  I said, “because they are oranges”.  Then she said, “Mom those aren’t oranges, they are watermelons.  Look at the seeds and the rim”. I had to laugh!!  So yes, they are watermelons that I turned into oranges.

In any case, all I did was:

  1. Stamp the two fruit on some masking paper then cut them out by hand.
  2. I stamped the apple first, then covered it with the masking paper then stamped the orange on both sides.
  3. Then I removed the masked and covered the right orange, with its mask, then stamped the last apple.
  4. Some of the fruit are in front and some are in the back.  That is what masking does.  It prevents you from having lines in the images.
  5. Then I colored them with Copic Markers E27, G07, R46 and YR68.
  6. After that I stamped the sentiment and added some gems.

Easy peasy!!

Great trick, right? I hope you love what you see and that it inspires you to join us this month. You have the entire month to create a new project and enter it into our challenge. By entering you will have a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate to the a2z Scrapbooking Store. Winner will be announced on the 7th of March.  Good Luck!

CASology 136 – Basket and Giveaway!

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!

So this cue word seems easy, right?  Well not so easy.  I had nothing, nothing in my stash that screamed “Basket”.  I search all of my retired stamps and my new stamps that haven’t been touch yet and I couldn’t find anything with a basket.

Then I remember, the light bulb went off, I received some new stamps for an upcoming release from So Suzy Stamps and guess what stamp was in that package.  Yes, a basket of apples!!  I was super excited.  I’m still in the race with my fellow DT members!!

Take a look at my card:

You're A Good Apple2

Yes, this basket of apples saved the day for me.  To create this card was super easy minus the coloring.

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card (4.25 x. 5.50). I cut a piece of Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather Patten Paper and adhered it to the front of my card base.

2. I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX die to cut out a piece of white cardstock.

3. I stamped my image and colored it in with Copic Markers; W4, Y13, Y15, Y19, E31, E33, E35, E37, R22 R24 and N5.

4. I stamped my sentiment from Lawn Fawn Good Teacher stamp set.

5. I adhered the white panel to the front of my card base with foam adhesive.

6. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to my apples and belly ban on my basket.

That was it!  Nice and easy thanks to So Suzy Stamps!!  So since her basket of apples saved the day for me.

I’m doing a giveaway!!!!  Two lucky winners will win a pre-release Basket of Apples stamp!

All you have to do is leave a comment below letting me know which medium you prefer to color with.  You have until Monday, March 9th at 11:59 to leave a comment for a chance to win.
