Topflight Stamps Birthday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!!! It is Topflight Stamps 2nd birthday!  To celebrate, we’ve teamed up with up some of our favorite crafters to bring you a blog hop showcasing some of the fabulous products available from Topflight Stamps.   Please hop along with us all and show all of the crafters some love!

If you arrived here from the talented Annette Allen blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Topflight Stamp blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Take a look at my mixed media bookmark and mini notebook:

Let’s take a look at my tags:

Create It Grunge

I created two tags that are similar but not quite. I used AALL & Create Create it Grunge stamp set to create both tags.

Let’s take a closer look:

For tag number one, I used a stencil and a baby wipe to create the grid look. I also used the dark paint more.

Create It Grunge

For tag number two, before adding gesso to the tag, I placed a couple of pieces of chicken wire like tape and painted right over it. The tape creates a different texture that looks fabulous.

Oversized tags are fun to make and I love grunge look of the stamp set.

Let’s take a look at my mini mixed media notebook:

Create It Grunge

I love this little notebook. It was so much fun painting with my fingers.  It’s not just the front that is decorated. Check out the back too.

For the cover I added a couple of glass beads and metal pieces to add character.

I even decorated the inside a bit.

Letters

I created a monoprint using Carabella Studio Letters stamp set. Then cut it out using my Cricut Maker.

Let’s take another look:

So what do you think?

L-E-T-T-E-R…….

Second Post for today!!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CASology Week 110 and their Cue Card word is LETTER.

Week 110 - Letter

I have to say when I sat down to create I had to think really hard on what I wanted to create.  All of the ideas that came to mind someone already bet me to the punch.

I felt stuck.  So, I took out a stamp set I’ve never used and one piece of color card stock and decided that I had to come up with something using these two items.

I choose Papertrey Ink Wet Paint Alphabet and Stampin’ Up! Basic Black cardstock.

I ponder over what in the world I make that represented a letter.  I thought about having all of the letter be my background but the word is singular so that wouldn’t work.

Then a light bulb went off and I came up with this:

Letter

I decided to spell out the word L-E-T-T-E-R and emboss it with Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder (which happens to be on sale for next to nothing, let me know if you need it).

I added a Stampin’ Up! Rhinestone and my card is done.

Nothing much to it but I like it.

What do you think?  Let me know below.

Thanks for stopping by.

I Love Back To School, Do You?

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with the DoubleClick Skittles Back to School Challenge!!  This will be so much fun!

I love back to school.  I love new paper, pencils, pens, notebook, glue, OMG I love everything.

This is our second challenge and I wanted to say to everyone who participate in the first, Thank You so much.

This challenge runs for two weeks.  This is the second of the two.  So, you have one week before the challenge ends.

Now on to my card for this challenge:

Skittles Back to School

My daughter has her first male teacher this year so I wanted to make sure my projects were male centered.  This is challenging to me since I’m so use to making cute girly things, lol.

Want to know how to make this card, well here’s how you do it:

1. I cut my card stock so that is measures an A2 size card (4-1/4 x 5-1/2 scored at 5-1/2).

2. I used my Big Shot and Stampin’ Up! Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create the the texture on the front of my card.

3. I used my Project Life Lined Journaling Cards for the first time ever, LOL.  I love these little cards.  (I have no idea what my resistance was but its over.) I divert!

4. I stamped my crayon, glue, paintbrush and ink from the Sweet Stamp Shop Artsy Fartsy Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

5. I used my Copic Marker #G07, YR16, V17, B14, R27, G28, Y19, Y13, B12 to color in all of my images.  (I’m so happy about that.  I’m trying to practice my coloring.)

6.  I stamped my sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Hey Teacher Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

7. I added color to my apple using my Copic markers.

8. I adhered my journal card to my card base using foam adhesive.

9. I  added Wink of Stella to some of the embossed letters and numbers on my card base.

10. To really make my card pop, I added my Pumpkin Skittles to the four corners.

Here’s a close-up:
