L-E-T-T-E-R…….

Second Post for today!!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CASology Week 110 and their Cue Card word is LETTER.

Week 110 - Letter

I have to say when I sat down to create I had to think really hard on what I wanted to create.  All of the ideas that came to mind someone already bet me to the punch.

I felt stuck.  So, I took out a stamp set I’ve never used and one piece of color card stock and decided that I had to come up with something using these two items.

I choose Papertrey Ink Wet Paint Alphabet and Stampin’ Up! Basic Black cardstock.

I ponder over what in the world I make that represented a letter.  I thought about having all of the letter be my background but the word is singular so that wouldn’t work.

Then a light bulb went off and I came up with this:

Letter

I decided to spell out the word L-E-T-T-E-R and emboss it with Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder (which happens to be on sale for next to nothing, let me know if you need it).

I added a Stampin’ Up! Rhinestone and my card is done.

Nothing much to it but I like it.

What do you think?  Let me know below.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello everyone!! I’m here today with CAS(E) this sketch #90!  Today’s sketch was created by Chrissy Larson.

I’m also here with Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.

wed-newchallenge-headerI’ve noticed recently that I’ve ordered stamp sets and do not use them.  So, I decided that I will start creating cards with stamps sets that I’ve never used.

So, today’s card was created with Papertrey Ink’s Fancy That stamp set.  I also wanted to use some cardstock that I haven’t used in a while.  So I decided on Stampin’ Up! new in color Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon cardstock.

These two colors together really look so nice together.

Take a look at my card:

Thanks

Take a look at my rhinestones.  I colored them with the same colors that’s in the medallion.

Close up of the medallion

The colors in the medallion are Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey all from Stampin’ Up’s new in colors markers.

I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Thanks die from Lost Lagoon card stock 4 times for dimension.

I cut white cardstock using Avery Elle’s Custom Panels Die to get that odd shape.

Fruits, Fruits and more Fruits!!

Hello everyone!!  I’m back again for the third DoubleClick Challenge!  The theme is, you guessed it, its fruit!!

The summer time is full of delicious fruits from all over the world.

Let me tell you what surprised me the other day.  My friend who lives off of one of the busiest streets in Queens, has a neighbor who has a pear tree in the front of their house.  I was blown away.  I never saw a fruit tree in city, upstate yes, but not down in the city.  Can you eat the fruits?  Are they sweet?  I wanted to know but was too scared to ask for one.  So what I did was take a picture of the tree as proof that it exist.

Take a look for your self:

Pear Tree

How beautiful is that tree full of fruit!!  Makes you want one.  Ok, ok I digress!  On to the challenge.  Its all about fruit!

I choose to go with tangerines!  They are so delicious and you can peel it by yourself.  The sweeter the better for me.

Take a look at my card:

Hello Tangerine

These tiny tangerine halves look so good, you almost want to eat them all.  Let’s talk about how I create this nice CAS card.

1. My Stampin’ UP! Tangerine Tango  card base is an A2 card which measures 4.25 x 5.50 scored at 5.50.

2. My Neenah Solor White card panel measures 4 x 5.25. I rounded the corners with a retired Stampin’ Up! punch.

3. I used Stamp’ Up! retire Tart and Tangy Stamp Set to stamp my tangerines 3 times out of Tangerine Tango ink.

4. I used Stampin’ Up! 1-1/4″ Circle Punch to punch out my tangerines.

5. I adhered the tangerines to the card panel with Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals.

6. I used Stampin’ Up! Hi There Stamp Set to stamp the Hello at the bottom of my card base with Versafine black ink.

7. I adhered the card panel to the card base using Stampin’ UP! Dimensionals.

7. I added Wink of Stella to the tangerine petals for added glare.

8. For my finishing touch, I added my PUMPKIN SKITTLES to the center of my tangerines and after my hello.

Clean and Simple at its best.

So tell me what do you think?

Now its your turn to play along.  You have until September 2 to enter the challenge.

The lucky winner will win the nice prize pack you see below:

So now on to the fun!! I wanted to stay with a2z scrapbooking current theme of encouragement so I created a series of cards that boost encouragement.  I used Hero Arts Digital Artistic Circles!!  This set of circles are amazing!! They are a must have.

Artistic Circles

With that said, lets take a look at my cards:

Be Fearless

Be Fearless was colored with Copic Markers V04, B06, V12, and V17

Be Generous

Be Generous was created with Inktense color pencils Poppy Red, Apple Green, Sun Yellow and Tangerine

Be Strong

Be Strong was colored with Distress Ink Markers Peacock Feathers, Ripe Persimmon, Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade

Be Yourself

Be Yourself was created with Copic Markers B00, B04, B12 and B14

The Be Series

The “Be” Series!

So what do you think?  Its a must have digital set, right!! I totally agree!  These cards were so easy to create.

I created these card panels in Photoshop, but any photo editing software would work.

Artistic Circles MKT2.2I sized and resized each circle so that they were centered on each card panel.  That didn’t take long at all.  Once my placement was create I printed one sheet and cut my panels down to 4 x 5.25.

Then I colored each of the circles with different mediums and added Hero Arts Gems to the center of each circle.  I used each medium to color the gem.

To stay with the digital theme, I created each sentiment in Photoshop and cut them out, flagged them and added them to the front of the card.

I tied bakers twine around the card panel for more detail.  I added foam adhesive to back of each card panel and adhered that to the card base.

Easy as pie!!

Let me know what you think!!

You Rock Teacher!!

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog Challenge and Word Art Wednesday.

wed-newchallenge-header

The theme is my favorite!!  It’s Back To School!  Yayyyyy!  If you’ve been following my blog you know how I feel about new paper, pens, pencils, notebooks and crayons.  I love the smell of new school supplies.  I get excited when my daughter gets her list from school.  We are one of the first people in the store.  I end up buying way to many supplies, LOL.

The card I made is for all of the teachers in the world.  Teachers have the hardest job in the world to me.  They deal with little people all day and those little people have different personalities.  Can you imagine all of them talking at the same time, lol!!  Oh no!!

On a serious note, they are responsible for preparing our children for life.  They teach them all of the fundamentals they will need to be great people in this world.  That is a big job.  With that said, I like to let my children’s teacher know they are appreciated.

Take a look at my card:

You Rock Teacher

I just love how this card came out.  The embossing looks so good against my favorite color cardstock, Audrey Blue.  I also used Simon Says Stamp Teacher’s Pet New Release for this card.

Here is how I created this card:

1. My card base measures 4.25 x 5.50 scored at 5.50 is Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue cardstock!!  So pretty to me.  My card panel measures 4 x 5.25 and its Neenah Solar White cardstock.

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Scrambled Letters Stencil and Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste to create my background on my card panel.

3. Then I used Simon Says Stamp Lunch Box Notes Craft Die to cut my frame out of Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight cardstock, the stars out of Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock and the small window out of Simon Says Audrey Blue cardstock.

4. I used Simon Says Stamp Teacher Craft Dies to cut the word teacher out of Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock.

Your Rock Teacher closeup

5. Now its time to put my card together.  I stamped “You Rock!” from Simon Says Stamp Lunch Box Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and then embossed it with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.

You Rock Teacher die front

6. I attach the square piece to the frame and two of the stars to the embossed panel using foam adhesive.  I attached the teacher die and one of the stars with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

You Rock Teacher wink of stella

7. For the finishing touch, I added a Clear Wink of Stella to the stars and the die cut teacher.

You Rock Teacher frontNicely done!  What do you think?  Let me know.

By the way, this card was made for my Blogging and Instagram friend Malini from My Little Pink Craft Kitchen.  She is a school teacher and I wanted to show her my appreciation. Enjoy!!

Life Is A Story…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing with the Muse Challenge #81.  Today’s Muse is Marion Vagg and her card is absolutely gorgeous.

Take a look at her card:

IMG_3336.CR2Marion Vagg

When I saw this card, my mouth dropped.  I love the colors, the glitter, the butterfly just amazing.

I knew what I wanted to create.  I wanted my card to be similar but different.

I’m also playing along with CAS-UAL FRIDAYS Challenge Tic Tac Toe

cfc134

Chevrons, Black and Sequins is my Tic Tac Toe.

Take a look at my card:

Life is a Story

Can you tell how my card is different from Marion?

1. My butterfly is cut out of my stencil card panel.

2. The glitter is on my butterfly wings and not on the rest of the card.

3.  I decided to use only two colors but when blended it created a third color.

This is how I created this card:

1.  My card base is an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50 and my card panel measures 4 x 5.25.

     Semi Completed Stencil   Completed Stencil

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Zig Zag Stencil and Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores Ink to create my stenciled panel.

This stencil is so delicate that you can’t rub the ink onto the stencil, you have to pounce it on the the stencil as to not break the stencil.

Life is a Story Sideview

3. I used my Memory Box Asti Butterfly Wings to partial die cut the butterfly wings out of my stenciled piece.

4. I used Papertrey Ink’s Building Block Sentiment Stamp Set to stamp “Life Is A Story” on a piece of black card stock.

5. I used Stampin’ Up! Bitty Banners Framelits to cut out a banner out of my sentiment.

6. I used foam adhesive to add my banner to the front of my stenciled panel.

Life is a Story close up

Life is a Story glitter wings

7. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the butterfly wings for some sparkle and Doodlebug Beetle Black Sprinkles in the center of the butterfly wings.

That’s my card for today.  What do you think?

This just in:

A friend of mines notified me today that a good friend of hers daughter past away this weekend.  The little girl whose name is Katy was only 6 years old.  She was dealing with a bad heart.  I can’t image how her parents are feeling.  I’m a mom of 2 and they are my life-line.

I’m going to send this card to her parents and brother, with hopes of lifting their spirits.  Life is a story and they have one to tell.  For me the butterfly symbolizes hope and that Katy is in a better place, no more pain or surgeries.  Please keep them in your prayers and if you want to send them a card too let me know!

Back To School!

Hello everyone! I’m here with a2z Scrapbooking today.  Our month long challenge is still going strong.  The theme is Encouragement!

We are in that back to school season, which I love, as you already know.  My daughter has a male teacher this year for the first time so I need to stock up on cards and projects for him since I hardly make masculine things.  Big change for me.

All of us need encouragement from time to time and teachers are no different.  They have such a difficult job everyday.  Image 25 little people all with different personalities.  Now imagine them all talking at once.  OMG!!  I hear headache coming on fast.

So to keep my daughters teacher motivated, I created this card:

Your The Best

Want to know how I created this card.  Come on over to the a2z Scrapbooking blog to hear all about it.

Its your turn to play along with the current challenge!  It’s running to the end of the month.  You have a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to the a2z Scrapbooking store.
