Altenew May 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone and welcome to Altenew’s May 2018 Release Blog Hop!! Today we are showcasing all of the new Stamps and Dies.  If you arrived here from the talented Laurie Willison blog, then you are on the right track. If you arrived here on your own, then you will want to start at the beginning, the Altenew Card Blog so that you don’t miss a thing!

Take a look at my 8 x 8 scrapbook chipboard layout:

Main Squeeze

I love Altenew new Main Squeeze stamp set. It is perfect for my recent mishap at work. My coworker dropped a table. She asked another coworker and myself to help her pick it.  It’s a heavy steel table. While we were picking it up, the other coworker didn’t have a grip on it and let it go on my foot. Such luck, right?! The top of my left foot is fractured.

This stamp set reminds me to really look at the good in this painful situation.  I get to stay home and craft more, LOL!!!

Here’s how I created this chipboard layout:

Pick a patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection Kit and adhere it to the 8 x 8 piece of We R Memory Keepers Cinch Chipboard using Altenew Glue Tape.

Stamp the medium lemon randomly on the patterned paper using Altenew Embossing Ink.

Translucent Pearl embossing powder

Stamp the one of the sentiments on the picture using Stazon Ink.

Main Squeeze

Sprinkle Altenew Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder over the stamped image, then heat set it.

Die cut Altenew Fine Alphabet Die Set out of black cardstock for the layout title.

Fine Alphabet die set

Using a ruler, adhere the title to the layout using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.

Since the die set doesn’t come with punctuation marks, use the question mark from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection Puffy Stickers.

Randomly place thread on the layout and adhere the photo on top.

Add a couple of enamel dots for additional texture.

Use We R Memory Keepers Typecast to add journaling to the layout.

Main Squeeze

Adhere the journaling block to the layout and done!

Let’s take another look:

If you’ve been hopping along, you would have arrived from Lisa’s blog and if you’d like to start from the beginning, head on over to the CardMaker’s blog.

I was challenged to use Clearsnap Chalk Ink to create a project.  So, I decided to show you how to achieve an Ombre effect using Clearsnap Chalk Ink.  I love this affect because it shows a gradual light to dark color that is so super easy to achieve.

Colorbox ink and stamp

Supplies used:

Lets get started:

Use the lightest pink to ink up the stamp.

Stamp the image to the bottom left corner of the white card base.

Adding the first ink

Then re-ink the stamp with the first color and the middle pink color towards the tail.

Stamp the inked stamp to the right of the first stamped image.

adding the second ink

Then ink up the stamp one more time in the solid darker pink color and stamp the image on the cardstock.

Take a look at all three of the stamped images from dark to light.

stamped images

Stamp your sentiment using Clearsnap Archival Ink in Wicked Black and sprinkle clear embossing powder on top.  Heat set the sentiment for a glossy look.

Take a look at my finished card:

{Clean and Simple} CASology 193 – Pink

Second Post for today
If your looking for the Right At Home Blog Hop, click here

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Clean and Simple Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is:

Week 193 - PINK

Take a look at my card:

Be Strong (CAS)

When I saw the cue card, I knew I wanted to combine the rub-ons with the color pink.

This is just one of the cards in my series called the Be Series!! Sometimes all we need is a pretty strong sentiment to get us though our day.

Creating this card was more then easy and it to me less then 4 minutes!

Check out my supplies:

Be Strong supplies (CAS)

Here is how I created this card:

  1. Cut your white card base to 4.25 x 5.50, scored at 5.50.
  2. Cut out the sentiment you want to use from Prima Loved Words Rub-Ons.
  3.  Place the sentiment on the card front where you want them to be and rub.
  4. Remove the transparent sheet.
  5. Spring Wow! Fluorescent Magenta Embossing Powder over the sentiment and heat set it.

Done!! When I say easy, that might be an understatement.  This was amazing easy.

Check out the rest of  my cards:

Be Serious (CAS)

Do you know someone who would love a card like this?  Let me know, I will send one right on over.

What do you think?  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Dashing through the snow2 (TDD)

I love this cute snowman die!!  Look at all of that stitching!  Nice texture.

Here is how I created this card:

  2. Then I draw a hill line on my cardstock.
  3. I stamped The Ton Stamps Holiday Lyrics using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.
  4. After that, I place Simon Says Stamps Stencil Falling Snow  on top of the cardstock and layered Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste.
  5. Before the paste dried, I sprinkled some Distress Glitter Clear Rock Candy on top of the snow to give it some sparkle and shine.

Watercolor Resist

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with CAS(E) this Sketch #145 Challenge today.  I don’t get to participate in challenges much so when I do, I get all excited.

Lets jump right in:

Here is the sketch:

CTS_145

Take a look at my card:

Be Kind and Thoughtful (challenge)

Creating this card was simple:

I used my powder bag and prepped my watercolor paper so that the embossing powder would stick to areas that I don’t want.

I used Concord & 9th Being Classy Stamp Set and stamped my sentiment using Versamark Ink.

I sprinkled Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on top of the stamped sentiment.  Then I heat set it.

After all of the powder melted, I taped down my Canson watercolor paper so that I can watercolor the front of the card.

I used Koi Watercolor to add the color to my Canson watercolor paper.

Since I heat set the sentiment, it resists the color and rolls of the white sentiment.  The color only lands on the paper where the sentiment isn’t.

Some of the paint settled on the sentiment, I just used a damp cloth to wipe the ink off.  Super easy.

I used Stampin’ Up! Elegant Butterfly Punch to cut out three butterflies out of vellum paper.

I attached each of the butterflies together and add two rhinestones in the center.

Super easy and pretty!!

I hope I fit the sketch!

Take a look at my card:

OCC Embossed Love

Amazing right!! Just some pop of color turned this simple card to Wow!! simple card.

Warm Holiday Wishes Tag

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing with Tag You’re It!!  This is my first time playing with them.  I’m happy I found them.  I recently started making tags and I love them.  They are super fun to make.

TYIC_12

The TYIC Designer for his challenge is Tracey McNeely and her tag is fabulous!!

When I looked at her tag, I thought of pops of color.  So I decided that I wanted to have a pop of color on my tag too.

Take a look at my card:

Warm Holiday Wishes

I love that pop of that Cable Car Red Wow embossing powder on my gloves.

Warm Holiday Wishes sideview

Not along is it a tag, but it doubles as a card too!!  So you can write your message inside instead of the back.

This is how I created my tag:

I cut two tags out of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock using Reverse Confetti Tag Me, Too.

I used Simon Says Stamp Big Holiday Wishes stamp set to stamp my snowflakes with Versamark ink.  Then I embossed them with Hero Arts White Embossing Power.

I stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I stamped the mitten string with Versafine Onyx Black ink around the hole in the tag.

I stamped my mittens using Versamark ink and embossed with Cable Car Red Wow Emobossing Powder.

I fussy cut the mittens out and adhered them with foam adhesive. I added Clear Wink of Stella on my mittens for a sparkly shine.

I attached my second tag to the back of the first tag with adhesive to create a tag that opens.

I strung Stampin’ Up! Retired Whisper White Sweater Ribbon to finish off my tag.

Nice and easy.  So what do you think?
