Happy Birthday Surprise!!!

Suzanne's Birthday

Hello everyone!  I’m excited about this blog post today.  Today is Suzanne’s Birthday!!  Who is Suzanne, better know as Suzy,  you asked?  Well let me tell you!

She is the owner of So Suzy Stamps and she has no idea that her Design Team is throwing her a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop.

This is the first stop on this hop!!  I’ve listed all of the participants at the end of this post just in case you miss a stop!  Each of the design team members created a birthday card for Suzy to show how much we really appreciate her.

What is a blog hop without some prizes!!  We are giving away a $15 So Suzy Stamps Gift Certificate and a free one month subscription to El Atelier de Stampartpapel to 2 lucky winners who leaves a comment on each of the blogs for a chance to win by February 22nd, 2015 by 11:59pm.   The winners will be chosen at random and announced on Monday, February 23rd at 12noon on the So Suzy Stamps Blog.  The winners will have 2 weeks to claim their prize.

Now onto the card I created for our fearless and super fun leader:

Happy Birthday Suzy

I went with black and white because I love this elegant look.  This picture doesn’t do this card justice.  The Wink of Stella pops on some parts to the card that isn’t captured in the photo.

This is how I created this card:

I cut my black card base to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).  My card panel is cut to 4 x 5.25.

I embossed my card panel with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed panel with foam tape.

I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to cut my small white panel.  Then I used that panel as a guide to cut my smaller black panel.

I stamped the Swirl So Suzy Stamp Medium Cupcake with black ink.  I added a Denim DoubleClick Skittle as the topper.

I added a random strip of ribbon to my card front.  I attached the smaller panels on top of that ribbon.

I added Wink of Stella to random places on my card.

Easy Peasy!!  I hope Suzy loves this card that I made just for her.

So what do you think?  Will she like this card?

Now on to the wonderful and talented Jenny Johnson to see what she has in store for you.

Thank you in Different Languages

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog.  I have more gift packaging ideas for you!!!

Who doesn’t love getting gifts in pretty packaging? I know I sure do. There are times when I get gifts and do not want to open them because the wrapping is so pretty. Isn’t that crazy. I know it is but what can I say. LOL!!

I facilitate a reading group for 21 of my coworkers at a big hospital in the city. This reading group is based on an honor system. The reading year starts January 1 and ends December 31. All of the participates chooses what their reading goal will be for the year and they try their best to met their goal by December 31. I do not pick any books except my own. Everyone chooses their own books. All they have to do is give me the name and author of the book. I enter the information onto a spreadsheet. That spreadsheet is update often and sent out once a month to all of the participants.

I have to say since the start of this group 3 years ago, my department has read over 1000 books. So to reward everyone for participating I usually do giveaways, give out special gifts to individuals who go beyond their goal and I also give gifts just because.

So, today I bring you three gift boxes that say thank you in different languages for three of my coworkers who really have met their goal before the end of the year.

Take a look at my first box:

Grazie

Take a look at my second box:

Merci box

Take a look at my third box:

Thank you box

There are many different ways to use these boxes:

1. You use them as place setting for each of your guest. Instead of thank you, put their name.

2. You could give them as thank you gifts for sharing Thanksgiving with you.

3. If you have children, you could make one for each of their teachers to say thank you before they go out on Thanksgiving break.

4. You could change the colors and make a bunch of these boxes for Christmas for teachers, students, coworkers, friend or family members.

The possibilities are endless and that’s because I used one of the Sweet Stamp Sets that is so versatile.

That set is:

Thank-You-

I love this set because it allows me to say thank you in different languages, so that I can personalize my gifts. You can also use it all year round, now that is a set I need on my desk all the time!

Now take a look at all of my boxes together:

Thanks in Different languages

Don’t you just love them!! Do you think my coworkers will love them too? I sure hope so!!

Check out Sweet Stamp Shop blog for details on how to create these boxes.

Let me know what you think!!

Thank you for stopping by!

Keep Fighting, Never Hang Up Your Gloves…

Hello everyone!  I’m here with the DoubleClick Skittles Design Team Challenge.  The theme is Anything Pink.  In Honor of Breast Cancer Month.

This is my second card for this challenge.  I had a lot of fun creating these cards this month. I used the same stamp set, Fight Like a Girl!

PCS-21-Fight-Like-a-Girl-4x6-Stamp-Preview

Take a look at my card:

Breast Cancer

To create this card:

1. I used Stampin’ Up! Starburst Framelits Die and some retired Stampin’ Up! to cut out the three different Starburst.

2. I adhered the biggest Starburst first with adhesive, the second and third Starburst with Stampin Dimensionals.

3.  I stamp the boxing gloves and used my Copic markers to color them in.

4. I stamped my sentiment and the breast cancer ribbon.

5. I added Pink Sherbert Skittles for embellishment.

Very easy and simple but such a powerful message.

As I said before, if you purchase this stamp set, Lisa the owner of Pretty Cute Stamps, will donate $2.00 to the Susan G. Koman Foundation.  Such a wonderful cause!

So what do you think?  Please let me know.

Fighting Breast Cancer…

Hello everyone!! Can you believe its October already.  The time really is flying.  September totally went by and I didn’t even get to celebrate my one year blogging anniversary!!   I will do something this month so stay tune in for that.

Today I’m here with the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!  In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our challenge is any project with pink!!

I am an Instagram junkie as my son would say.  I have to admit I had my reservation about it in the beginning.  I’m not big on share pictures of my kids and things like that for fear that someone stranger would have access to them.  It was my wonderful cousin Nicky who reassured me that I could use Instagram for just my paper-crafting business.  Well I started and now I can’t stop!!

I say all of that to say that, I’ve meet someone wonderful ladies on Instragam.  I feel like I’ve known them forever.  Its amazing what cardmaking can do.  This one young lady named Kendra Hernandez from Inkin’ It Up with Kendra introduced me to a new stamp company called Pretty Cute Stamps.

Their stamp sets are so stinking cute!  Their September release really had some great stamp sets.  You must check them out.

For my card today, I chose to use Fight Like a Girl!!  The images and the sentiments are to die for.  When I saw this set I knew I had to have it for the month of October.

Here is my card:

Breast Cancer 2

I know a couple of people who are breast cancer survivors and I’m so happy that they are fighting this fight.  They are the toughest women I know.  I Salute them!!

I also lost one of my most favorite patient to breast cancer two years ago now.  She was the happiest person that I ever met in the hospital where I worked.  She wouldn’t let anything stop her from living her life for her children, 3 of them at that, and no dad.  She relied heavy on the oldest.  She past about a week and have after her birthday.  I have to say I was really heart broken by it.  She had so much life, so much she wanted to do, so much she wanted to share with her children.  She wasn’t a patient to me, she had become my friend.  Her children had become mine children too.  What a beautiful soul!!

This card is dedicated to her!  I wish I could give her the biggest shout out but because of the nature of my work I can’t but she knows up there in heaven that I’m talking about her.

Her children are doing well.  The oldest boy finished college, the middle girl is about to finish college and the youngest girl is in high school.  I keep in touch with them.  I promised her.

People are placed in your life for a reason, sometimes you don’t know why until they are gone.  I miss her but I know she isn’t far.

To create this card:

I used some retired Stampin UP! pretty in pink cardstock and Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the image, colored it using Copic markers and fuss it cut it out.  I have the SVG file but my Silhouette Cameo doesn’t recognized those files.  I have to find out why.

I stamped the sentiment and used Avery Elle Custom Panels Die set to cut it out.

Then I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the boxing gloves so that they could shine.  You can see that a little bit in the photo.

Then I added may Pink Sherbert Skittles in all four corners.  They give the DSP a nice frame.

OOO, before I forget, if you purchase the stamp set Lisa the owner of Pretty Cute Stamps is donating $2.00 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Such a great cause!!

So what do you think of my card?  I think the Copic Online Card Classess is helping me out a lot.  Let me know what you think.

I Love You Birdie!!

Hello everyone!! I’m here with a brand new stamp company based in Germany called Create A Smile.  They have fun designs, cute images and punny sentiments that you will love.

Blog-Badge

Over on their Create a Smile blog, they are having a Guest Designer Search for their September Release!!

How exciting is that!!  When I saw that, I knew I would love to be Guest Designer for them.  So I created a project with their free digi birdie to be included in the running!

Take a look at my card:

I Love You Birdie

When I saw this little birdie on their blog, I fell in love with him.  He is the cutest bird I’ve seen.  His big eyes pulled me in.

I used Copic marker Y13 and Y19 to color him in.

I fussy cut him out because I wanted him to pop him off of my card.

I created my tag using Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1 and Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue cardstock.

I stamped my “I Love You” sentiment from Papertrey Ink Building Blocks stamp set in Versafine Black Ink. I added foam adhesive to the back of my birdie and adhered him to the tag.

I used my white gel pen to create eyes on my birdie.

I punched a hole in the top of my tag and add some retired So Saffron ribbon and Tempting Turquoise bakers twine.

For my card base, I used Simon Says Stamp Medium Dots Stencil to create a subtle background with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and my mini distress blending tool on a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock.

I added foam adhesive behind my tag and WaLa, I was done.

So what do you think?  Will my card win over anyone’s heart?  I hope so!!

Let me know what you think below.
