Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with a new a2z Scrapbooking Challenge. Its all about Clean and Simple and I have a super fun technique for you: using a die cut to create a CAS card!

Yup, you can use your dies to create CAS cards.  Go figure!!

Take a look at the card I created:

Grateful

Creating this was pretty simple.

  1. Take Hero Arts Paper Layering Large Lotus and die cut the white cardstock panel.
  2. Use Hero Arts Handwritten Grateful and stamp the sentiment in the top left hand corner.
  3. Adhere a scrap piece of watercolor paper with Plus adhesive behind the flower so that color shine through. watercolor panel
  4. Trim 1/2″ of the white cardstock so that the black cardstock base will show on the left side of the card.
  5. Adhere the white card panel on top of the black cardstock using Plus adhesive.
  6. To finish the card off add some Hero Arts Gems in the center of the flower and around the sentiment.

Here is a closer look at that die cut:

Here is the inspiration photo that guided us this time around:

SS 2.1

Now take a look at my take of this photo:

Be Mine Milk Cartoon

Here is how I created these mini milk cartoons for my daughter’s class:

  1. I used retired Stampin’ Up! Bigz L Mini Milk Carton to cut out 3 milk cartons.
  2. Then I put the cartons together with Tombow Extreme Adhesive.
  3. After that I added some random Love Washi Tape around the boxes.
  4. Then I added some crystal hearts from Michael’s for my bling onto all of the boxes.
  5. I used My Favorite Things Pierced Heat STAX to cut out three small hearts.
  6. I stamped Right At Home Kiss Kiss sentiment onto the hearts.
  7. I adhered the hearts with some Micheal’s clothes pins.

They are filled with candy for her classmates.  I hope they love these too.

That fun!!

Second Post for the day
If your looking for So Suzy Stamps January Challenge, click here

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with a2z Scrapbooking today with our January Challenge!!!

Happy New Year to all of you!!!!  Our new challenge is all about Fireworks (add some glitter and bling)!!!!!

Check out the card I created for this challenge:

Thanks a bunch (a2z)

I used Wink of Stella and Hero Arts Pearls and Gems for my Fireworks!!  I went with a thank you card instead of a New Years card because thank you cards are in order for all of the gifts my children received from their relatives.

Creating this card was easy!!

Here’s how:

  1. My card base is from Michael’s Recollections Heavyweight cardstock.
  2. Then I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Die to cut my card panel from Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock.
  3. Then I used Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Thanks and stamped the sentiment and stars.
  4. Then I die cut the Hero Arts Swallowtail Butterfly Fancy Die out and adhered the butterfly to the card panel using glue dots.
  5. For the bling, I added Clear Wink of Stella to the butterfly and the Hero Arts Pearls and Gems Natural Mixed Accents to the card front.

Lets take a closer look:

Waffle Flower Crafts Challenge – Photo Inspiration

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with Waffle Flower Crafts Photo Inspiration Challenge!  This is our third challenge and its totally amazing.

February 23 challengeCheck out those colors!!  I had to really search my stash for those colors.  I think I hit the nail on the head, LOL.

Take a look at my card:

Live Laugh Love

I decided to use a new stamp set, Waffle Flower Crafts Rock My World and I didn’t want to plan what I wanted to create.  I was flying by the seat of my pants and I love how this card turned out.

I decided to create a mask using Waffle Flower Flower Circle Die and used it to covered my card front.

I blended Distress Ink Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean to create the flower pattern.  I wanted my colors in the same place as the picture.

I used Hero Arts Neon Yellow Ink and a pencil eraser to add that neon color to my flower.

I also use Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink Dauber to create the last color on my flower.

I added Hero Arts Gems to the card front to jazz it up some.

I rounded the corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and then I was done.  Yayy!!  Nice and easy card to create.

I love how this card turned out and I didn’t have a plan!!  Sometimes going with you gut, things turn out great!

Now its your turn!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I’m also entering my card in the One-Layer Simplicity Challenge: You Blend. This is the first time I’m playing with them. It seems like fun.

Watercolor Love

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with a2zScrapbooking and our December Challenge!!

I have another card featuring our theme this month, which is Watercoloring.

Take a look at what I created:

Watercolor Love

What do you think? I love these two colors together. They just works so well together.

How my card was created:

1. I used painters tape to cover 1″ of my card panel on all 4 sides.

2. I added water to the center of the card so that my paint could move freely.

3. Then I added my two colors to the watercolor color paper.

4. I used my heat tool to dry my card panel.

5. I used the heart from Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Hearts set to stamp the hearts in the center of the panel.

6. I added a faux stitched line around the watercolor panel and Hero Arts Gems for some interest.

7. I added my card panel to my black card base.

Wow, isn’t this the cutest valentines day card you seen in December, LOL!!

Well, now its your turn!!

Thanks a Bunch…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with a2z Scrapbooking with a fabulous “Thank You” card that combines two Hero Arts products, which is what our current challenge is all about!!

I’m using the same stamp sets that I used on my previous card that I created for a2z Scrapbooking which you can see here.

The difference with this card is I didn’t color the flower.  I colored the cardstock to match the ink I was using.  Take a look:

color cardstock with inkI do not believe that Hero Arts has cardstock to match their inks and I wanted my back panel to the ink I was using.  So, I used my ink pad and color the white card stock to create the color I needed.

Take a look at my card:

Thanks a Bunch

Doesn’t that matching panel look so pretty with the stamped flower edges?  So, there is another technique that I used on the flowers and the sentiment.  This might look familiar to many of you, yes, its the “Rock n’ Roll” technique.

With this technique, I stamped the flower with the lightest ink first and then rolled the edge of the stamp onto the dark ink, which creates a two-tone look.

So what do you think?  If you want the full tutorial, please visit a2z Scrapbooking blog for all of the details.

The items I used for my cards can all be found at the a2z Scrapbooking Store. If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used please head on over to the store and use the coupon code KYMONA15 to get 15% off your purchase.
