Happy Birthday Surprise!!!

Suzanne's Birthday

Hello everyone!  I’m excited about this blog post today.  Today is Suzanne’s Birthday!!  Who is Suzanne, better know as Suzy,  you asked?  Well let me tell you!

She is the owner of So Suzy Stamps and she has no idea that her Design Team is throwing her a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop.

This is the first stop on this hop!!  I’ve listed all of the participants at the end of this post just in case you miss a stop!  Each of the design team members created a birthday card for Suzy to show how much we really appreciate her.

What is a blog hop without some prizes!!  We are giving away a $15 So Suzy Stamps Gift Certificate and a free one month subscription to El Atelier de Stampartpapel to 2 lucky winners who leaves a comment on each of the blogs for a chance to win by February 22nd, 2015 by 11:59pm.   The winners will be chosen at random and announced on Monday, February 23rd at 12noon on the So Suzy Stamps Blog.  The winners will have 2 weeks to claim their prize.

Now onto the card I created for our fearless and super fun leader:

Happy Birthday Suzy

I went with black and white because I love this elegant look.  This picture doesn’t do this card justice.  The Wink of Stella pops on some parts to the card that isn’t captured in the photo.

This is how I created this card:

I cut my black card base to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50).  My card panel is cut to 4 x 5.25.

I embossed my card panel with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed panel with foam tape.

I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to cut my small white panel.  Then I used that panel as a guide to cut my smaller black panel.

I stamped the Swirl So Suzy Stamp Medium Cupcake with black ink.  I added a Denim DoubleClick Skittle as the topper.

I added a random strip of ribbon to my card front.  I attached the smaller panels on top of that ribbon.

I added Wink of Stella to random places on my card.

Easy Peasy!!  I hope Suzy loves this card that I made just for her.

So what do you think?  Will she like this card?

Now on to the wonderful and talented Jenny Johnson to see what she has in store for you.

I used my Koi Watercolors to create this piece.  I spritz some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine (which is on sale at Michael’s for $5.99 (in the store)). I love the gold shimmer.

I adhered the heart to the center of that circle.

Red Happy Birthday…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!

This months theme is Birthday!  I’m happy about this because you can’t have enough birthday cards on hand.

I choose to use a couple of dies and embossing paste to create my card for today.

Take a look at my card:

Happy Birthday balloons

I saw a card created by Laura Bassen and I fell in love with the design.  I was so excited to see her use the new Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles die set.  I order mines and it came just in time to create this card.

To create this card:

1. I started with a piece of Stampin Up! Cherry Cobbler cardstock and cut it to an A2 size card.

2. Then I used Simon Says Stamp Medium Dots Stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste to create the dots in the center of the cardstock.

3. I cut a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock to add to the top of my card base.

4.  I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a window in the card panel.

5. I cut two balloons using Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Die to cut two balloons.  I add Stampin Up! Whisper White Barkers Twine.  I adhered the balloons with foam adhesive. I added foam adhesive to the back of the card panel and centered it onto the card base.

6. I stamped my sentiment using Simon Says Stamp More Sketchy Banner Greetings.  I cut the tail off and adhered the banner to the right side of the card.

7. I added Rudolph Red Skittle to the banner.  Then I added Clear Wink of Stella to my balloons.

Finished.  Very easy to recreate.

What do you think? Let me know.  Now its your turn to join us and play along with our challenge this month. I hope to see you there!!

Count Me In…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today playing along with Lawnscaping Challenge 94: Count Me In!!

94

This challenge asked us to use numbers somewhere on our project!  Boy was I excited to see this challenge.  I have so many Lawn Fawn numbers stamp and dies that I’ve haven’t used yet.  I was excited to pull them out.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve had so much fun creating tags and gift boxes.  So for this challenge I wanted to do the same.

I create two tags for this challenge.  The first one I created yesterday before I even knew about the challenge.  I wasn’t sure about this tag because I felt like something was missing in the top right hand corner.  So I put the tag down.  After seeing the challenge this morning I decided that I will add a number to the corner.

Happy Birthday tags

Second Post for the today!

CS Take It Make It Post is here.

Hello everyone!  I’m here again today with DoubleClick Connection Skittles Challenge!

The theme is Thank you!

November is the time of the year where we give extra thanks to those that we love and those that we’ve met along the way.

I choose to use pumpkins because they are perfect for Thanksgiving.

Take a look at my card:

I'm so thankful for you

I decided to go with a clean and simple card because thank you’s don’t have to be over the top.  They are clean and simple.

I love this pattern paper because of the autumn feel.

Here is how I created this card:

1. I used Hero Arts Harvest Die Cuts to cut out my pumpkins from Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather Pattern Paper.

2. I adhered the pumpkins to the card base using adhesive.

3. I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Thankful for You stamp set.

4. I added two Pumpkin skittles to both sides of the sentiment.

5. I tied a small bow out of Lawn Fawn Orchid trimming.

6. I rounded the corners and I was done.

So what do you think?

I hope you join us and play along with out challenge this month.

Spooky….Boooo!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the DoubleClick Spooky Fun Challenge!!  I had a lot of fun with this challenge.  I’m not a Halloween person but I get into the spirit for my children… no one loves a grouch.

So for this challenge, I turned to my 8 year old daughter, Little Lady Sanaa!!  She helped me put this card together.  She saw a  design on Pinterest and loved it.

This challenge asked us to use at least 2 colors: orange, black, purple or green!

She said mom let’s use all of the colors!  I said no problem.

Take a look at our card:

Booo

Isn’t this cute!!  My daughter and I make a great team, I have to say.  My daughter loves the Wink of Stella pen, so I’m so surprised that she didn’t want to put glitter on this card.  I guess when she saw the googly eyes, she forgot all about the glitter, LOL!!

So here is how we made this card:

1. The base card was cut to 4.25 x 5.50 out of Stampin’ Up! Old Olive card stock.

2. We used Stampin’ Up! Polka Dot Embossing Folder to emboss only one quarter of the cardstock.

3. We then cut a 2.75 piece of Stampin’ Up! Sweet Taffy DSP and added it to the left of the polka dots.

4. Then we add a scrap piece of Stampin’ Up! Basic Black card stock between the DSP and the polka dots.

5. We used a piece of orange bakers twine I received as a part of some happy mail packaging to tie a bow at the top of the card.

6. They we cut out two circles.  The larger one from Stampin’ Up! Circles Framelits Die out of Stampin’ Up! Basic Black CS and the smaller one from Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banner Die out of Stampin’ Up! Rich Razzleberry CS.

7.  We used the smaller splats stamp from Stampin’ Up Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set and stamped the Rich Razzleberry stitched circle.

8.  We stamped the mummy from a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Googly Ghouls.

9. I fussy cut the mummy out and pop him up on the circle die using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

10. We stamped the sentiment and cut it out using Stampin’ Up! Bitty Banners Die.

11. My daughter added the googly eyes to the mummy and the eyes in the sentiment.

12. We then added our Pumpkin Skittles for added embellishments.

Now our card is finished!!  We had a great time creating this card.

So what do you think?  Let us know. My daughter would love to hear from you.

We are entering this card into the Lawnscaping Challenge as well!!

It’s Christmas In October…

Hello everyone!!  I’m back again with another card for the Lawnscaping Challenge No. 91: Patterned Paper. This challenge was fun to play with.

91

I received my new Clearly Besotted Stamp Set made exclusively for Simon Says Stamp Winter Friends and Die set that I had to use.

This set is so cute I can’t believe it.  4 animal images and Santa Claus are the cutest things I’ve seen in awhile.

Take a look at my card:

My Deer Christmas Card

Tell me that reindeer isn’t the cutest little thing you’ve seen in a long time.  Look at that nose, so nice a red.

Look at how he matches the pattern patter behind him.  Those little tiny reindeer’s are adorable.

This card was very easy to make. Here is how I did that.

1. I cut my card base the A2 card size (4.24 x 5.50).

2. I cut my Doodlebug Home For the Holiday paper to fit on the front of my card front.

3. I cut my Neenah Solar White cardstock with my Lawn Fawn Stitched Banner Die, the smaller one.

4. I stamped my Reindeer from Winter Friends using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then I use the Die to cut him out.

5. I Copic markers to color my reindeer: Body: E40, E41, E43, E44, E49, Nose & Ears: R24, R27

6. I added Clear Wink of Stella to his nose so that it could be a shiny nose.

7. I adhered my Reindeer to my cardstock with foam adhesive. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

8. I added Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine to the stitched banner.

9. I adhered the banner to the patten paper with foam adhesive.

10. I added Rudolph Red Skittles (how perfect are those and the name) to my banner.

Nice and Simple!!

What do you think?  Don’t you just love that little Reindeer!!

Birdie Love Letter…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with a new challenge that I’ve wanted to play along with for awhile now but haven’t had a chance.  So, today is that day!! I’m a bit excited about it.

The new challenge is Lawnscaping Challenge No. 91: Patterned Paper.  How much fun will this be! I have so much pattern paper that has never been touched.  I’m hoping I can really search my stash an come up with some great cards.

91

I decided to use some of my retired Stampin’ Up! Welcome Neighbor DSP for this challenge.  I have tons of it and this is such a great way to use it up.

Take a look at my card:

I love you so much

Don’t you just love this little birdie!!  I do.  This image is from Gerda Steiner Designs and its called Cute Bird with Letter Digital Stamp.   Gerda’s images are so cute, you must check them out.

I added some new DoubleClick Skittles Sunshine Yellow for added interest.  Are they just the cutest thing you’ve seen.  That yellow color is awesome.

So, I have another first that I can’t wait to share with all of you.  I videotaped myself coloring with my Copic markers!!

Take a look at my very first video. I am truly excited about this.  I’ve wanted to create videos for a long time but was afraid and now I’m super excited about it.

So what do you think?  Let me know.

Hello everyone!  I’m here with the DoubleClick Skittles Design Team Challenge.  The theme is Anything Pink.  In Honor of Breast Cancer Month.

PCS-21-Fight-Like-a-Girl-4x6-Stamp-Preview

Take a look at my card:

Breast Cancer

To create this card:

1. I used Stampin’ Up! Starburst Framelits Die and some retired Stampin’ Up! to cut out the three different Starburst.

2. I adhered the biggest Starburst first with adhesive, the second and third Starburst with Stampin Dimensionals.

3.  I stamp the boxing gloves and used my Copic markers to color them in.

4. I stamped my sentiment and the breast cancer ribbon.

Very easy and simple but such a powerful message.
