Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CAS(E) this sketch!

It’s been a while since I played along so when I saw Michelle’s sketch, I knew I wanted to play along.

CTS_105

Isn’t this a pretty sketch!  I ordered some Penny Black stuff and I knew I wanted to use the flower from their Sunny Hello stamp set.  I was just worried it wouldn’t arrive in time but IT DID!!  Yayyyy!!  I love when USPS delivers on time.

(By the way, the stamp set is on sale at Joann’s for $9.59, can’t bet that.)

Lets take a look at my card:

smile

This photo doesn’t do that flower justice!  That flower really shimmers.  I used Perfect Pearls to color that flower.

Take a closer look:

Smile close up

Take a look at that shimmer! This was my first attempt at working with Perfect Pearls.  I totally love it!  Its so pretty.

I created a video showing you how I used the perfect pearls to color that flower.

Wasn’t that cool.  I love watching that.

Here is how I created my card:

1. I cut my card base from black cardstock into an A2 size (4.25 x 5.50) scored at 5.50

2. I cut my white card base to 4 x 5.25.

3. I stamped the large flower from Penny Black’s Sunny Hello stamp set using Versamark onto my white cardstock.

4. I used Rangers Perfect Pearl Sunflower Sparkle to add color to that flower.  I used a clean brush and pounced the powder onto the flower.  No spreading with the brush for fear that it will smear.

(The perfect pearl is on sale too at Joann’s for 1.79. Great deal)

5. Once the entire image was covered.  I taped the extra off and then use my brush to wipe the excess powder around on the card to give a little shimmer to the card panel.

6. I die cut Smile 3 times from Penny Black Creative Dies-Hooray.  I attached all of the die cuts with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive. I attached the die cut to the front of my card panel.

7. I added Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequin and Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm sequin using glossy accents.

8. I attached my card panel with Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.

That’s it!!  I love how elegant this card turned out.

What do you think?  Let me know.

Waffle Flower Challenge – Photo Inspiration

Hello everyone!!  Happy New Year to all of you (just in case this is your first time visiting me).

I’m so excited today!!!  This is my first post as a Waffle Flower Crafts Design Team Member!!!

So I have to admit something to all of you.  I planned this post two weeks ago because for the new year I want my post to be scheduled and ready to go out. So I did everything I needed to do.  I hit schedule and I thought I was set.  Until I went back to preview it and I realized I couldn’t find it.  I started to panic.  I couldn’t find the post.  Something told me to have my brother check his email and there it was.  I thought I was going to cry.  I sent the post out, but it wasn’t in my feed.  That’s because I didn’t change the year from 2014 to 2015 so it was under my archive but everyone who gets emails from me received the post, even the Twitter world.

I was so scared that I messed things up. I pulled the post and changed the date and I deleted it from Twitter.  I emailed Tessa and she assured me that everything will be ok.  So those of you who get emails from this blog, received a sneak peak already.

So with that said:

I’m working really hard to make this year one of the best years ever.  Thanks for coming on this journey with me.

So without farther ado, lets get started.

Our first challenge for the year is Photo Inspiration Challenge.  Take a look at the colors below.

WF Challenge Jan 12Aren’t these colors pretty together.  It give off a very warm feeling.  It makes me want an cup of hot chocolate to drink while I create.

So now that you’ve had a chance to see the colors for yourself and how they look in a room, take a look at my card:

Hi, Thank you

What do you think?  I really love how my card turned out.  I have to admit,  I’ve never made a card using a photo for inspiration before.

I looked at this picture for a couple of days before I sat to create.  I thought long and hard about what I wanted to create.  Once I figured out what stamp set and die I wanted to use, I shopped my paper stash for the colors.

I was worried because I didn’t remember seeing all of these colors in my stash.  Once I found them, I knew I was ready to create.

So here is how I did it:

1. I created my A2 size (5.50 x 4.25) card base using Stampin’ Up! Rose Red cardstock.

2. I embossed the front of the card base using Stampin’ Up! Polka Dot embossing folder.

3. I cut a small piece of Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy and Dark Chocolate cardstock then embossed it with Stampin’ Up! Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

4.  I attached the two pieces, one on top of the other, with tape.  Then I used Waffle Flower Crafts Flower Circles Die Set and cut a stitch circle out of the Stampin’ Up! Lost Lagoon cardstock.

5. I stamped the “thank you” sentiment from Waffle Flowers Crafts 100% Love Stamp Set with Stampin’ Up! Rose Red Ink.

6. I attached the stitched circle die cut to the stamped thank you sentiment piece.

7. I stamped the “hi” sentiment from Waffle Flower Craft 100% Love Stamp Set with Stampin’ Up! Lost Lagoon Ink.

8. I attached the hi sentiment to the front of the circle with foam adhesive.

9. I attached some Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm sparkling clear sequin randomly on my card front.

Wala!!  My card is complete.  Easy as 1-2-3!

So what do you think?  Did I meet the photos expectations?  Let me know.  I would love to hear from you!!

I hope my card gives you some inspiration to participate in the Photo Challenge. It runs for two weeks, starting today, January 12th and ending January 25th.

Now its your turn to play along.

Some of the fine details are:

  • Use at least one Waffle Flower Crafts product on each entry. List the product name in your blog.

CS Take It Make It: Take A Stamp Challenge

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our first challenge of 2015, our January Challenge.

Some amazing changes are happening over at the CS Take it Make It Challenge. We are giving our challenge player TWO chances to win each month!!

One winner will be decided by a random number generator…so anyone who enters the challenge has a chance to win the fabulous sponsors prize we will be showcasing!

Our other winner will be our ‘Design Winner’, voted for by the blog and magazine DT. This winner will get their project published in Craft Stamper, be a Guest DT member for a challenge, AND get their own winners profile on the blog! The profile will be a wonderful opportunity to share your crafting styles and projects with the world, in a dedicated blog post just for you here on the CS blog!

(To be eligible for either prize you need to make sure your project follows all our guidelines, so please check them out, the guidelines are over on the sidebar!)

Our other HUGE change is that we are going to alternate our themes each month. One month will be a ‘Take A Stamp’ theme, the next ‘Take A Technique’ and so on. The ‘Take A Technique’ months will run in exactly the same way as before, we will look through Craft Stamper magazine and choose a technique for you all to have a go at. The ‘Take A Stamp’ months will be very exciting…..basically, its Anything Goes! You may enter any project you wish to the challenge…the only rule being you must ‘Take A Stamp’ and use it somewhere on your piece! So, any STAMPED project at all!

So with all of that said:

This month’s theme is Take a Stamp!!  That means take any stamp and create something, anything goes!!  Now if that isn’t easy, I’m not sure what is!!

Take a look at my card:

Love You (CS)

The idea behind this card came from Therese Calvird from Lostinpaper, I’m such a hug fan of hers.  She create a card a couple of days ago and I’ve been dying to try it.

Sooooo, what do you think?  I stamped my Random Fan image and colored it with Copic markers.

I have to admit, I’m not good at all with coloring hair so I just colored the little girls hair all black.

I used these Copic markers for my image:

Hair: 100

Clips: R27

Hair Twist: R24, R27

Skin: Eoo, E11, R20

Shoes: E31, E33, R24

Dress: R24, R27, R29

Heart: R81, R85

To create the rest of the card:

I embossed the front of the card panel and my colored image die cut circle with the Stampin’ Up! Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Die from Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock, four times.

I attached the circle to the front of the card panel with foam adhesive.

I stacked the die cuts and attached it to my card front using Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

I used my Copic marker R81 to add color to a scrap piece of paper.  I used Lawn Fawn Hearts to cut out the smallest heart.

I attached my heart with foam adhesive.

Super doper easy!!  What do you think?  What about my coloring?  Please let me know.

You can stamp your to your hearts desire.  The challenge just calls for a stamped image.

The prize pack for the one lucky randomly drawn winner is totally amazing!!

Check this out:

Don’t mind the photo, not enough light, but that box is full of stamps and stuff!!

CASology 128 – Date

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!!!

Happy-New-Year-2015-HD-1080p-Wallpaper1

I’m super doper excited to be here today as a Design Team Member for CASology!!!

I still can’t believe it!!  Don’t wake me if I’m dreaming!!

2015 is going to be a great year, I can feel it. It’s starting off to a great start! Wouldn’t you say!!

Starting with today, January 6th, 2015!!  Are you asking why?  Can you guess?  It has a lot to do with the cue word for today. It might seem a little corny but it means a lot to me.

I hope you guessed what the cue word is for this CASology Challenge.  If not, here you go!

Week 128 - Date

Here is my card:

CASology-DateThis date is super important to me because it signifies a new start with an amazing Design Team.

I decided to use the colors red, black and white because those are the colors of the CASology blog.

The heart symbolizes my love for the challenge. Don’t you just love that sketch heart.  Its super cute.

So, I made another card. I just change the colors around.

Take a look:

CASologydateredheart

These card were easy to create and would make awesome valentine day cards for loved ones.

Here’s how I created both cards:

1. I cut my card base to a 4 x 4 card size scored at 4 out of Simon Says Stamp 120lb thick white cardstock.

2. I used my Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart to cut the heart out of my card base.

3. Then I cut the heart out of Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock.

4.  For both cards, I added a piece of piece of printer paper to the inside front flap of the card so that the heart would stick perfectly.

5. For the first card, I inlaid the red sketch heart with the white heart base.  I did the opposite for the second card.

6.  I stamped the date using Lawn Fawn Quinn’s 123 Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

7. I rounded my corners using my corner chomper.

That was easy peasy, right!!  You have to check out my fellow design team members creations for more inspiration.

One Little Word 2015 – Determined

Hello everyone!  With a new year comes new things we want to see done differently in our lives.

I’ve decided that 2015 would be my year to accomplish a list of things I didn’t get to do in previous years.  I made a list in my head of all the things I wanted to accomplish but as we all know, if those lists aren’t written down on a piece of paper, they are lost in our brain matter.

So, I decided to jot down some of those things down but as usual I was drawn into my Instagram feed.

I’m hooked if you didn’t know.  Sorry I digress!

While I was there, I saw a post by Andrea Gray from Don’t Forget To Be Awesome and instantly I knew what I had to do.

She introduced me to this “one little word concept” for 2015!

Basically what this concept does, is allow me to set a word and use that word to grow this year.  I thought that was an awesome idea.  I love learning and growing especially if I’m the benefactor.  What more can I ask for.

So I did some searching for my one word.  One thing that I kept coming back to was “this is my year for great things”, what one word said this.

965070_393532030750560_646122740_o

I thought this word is so fitting!!  I’ve always been a determined person but as we grow older and the world influences us we forget who we are.  So going back to who I use to be. This will bring 2015 full circle for me.

So lets begin!

Determined

I’ve made a firm decision that 2015 will be my year to accomplish many crafty things and be a better person by the time December 31, rolls around.

Take a look at what I created:

One Little Word copyYes, pen to paper, I wrote down some of the things I’m determined to accomplish in 2015.  Now that its down on paper and I’ve shared them with you.

I have to do them right?

I have to say I’m a bit nervous but I will set fear aside and be DETERMINED to add some check marks to those boxes.

Like Andrea, I’ve created a Pinterest board called Determined.

Check out some of the motivational pieces I’ve found to get me moving!!

I promise this will be a fun ride!!

Happy New Year: So Suzy Stamps New Release!!!

????????????????????????????????(photo source)

Happy New Year to all of you!!

I’m so excited we all made it to another year!!

I guarantee you this year will be the best year.  I have a lot planned for you this year!!

I hope your ready for the ride because I’m ready to share with you.

So let me beginning my new year with So Suzy Stamps!!!  She has an awesome January release for you this month.

Lets take a look at my card I created for this release:

Oh la la

Who doesn’t like creamy ice cream!! I decided to go really simple with my card because I wanted the ice cone to be the focal point of my card.

Lets take a closer look at the yummyness!

oh la la close up 3

oh la la close up

oh loa la close up 2

Don’t you just want to touch to see if its soft.  Well it is!  Are you wondering how I did that?  I’m going to tell you.

1. I cut my Kraft cardstock to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50 scored at 4.25). I stamped So Suzy Stamps Oh La La stamp to the front of my cardstock.

2. I embossed the front of my cardstock with Stampin’ Up! Chevron Textured Embossing Folder then set it aside to work on my ice cream cone.

3. I stamped my So Suzy Stamps Ice Cone Fun Cone with Versamark ink and then embossed it with Adirondack Espresso Embossing Powder.

4. To create my textured ice, I used Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste and Ranger Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry reinkers to create my delicious colors.

5. I used my palette knife to carefully add the different color paste to my ice cream area.  I pushed past my embossed lines so that you don’t see my embossing.  I let it sit to dry.

6. Once my paste dried, I added glossy accent to my cherry for a pop.

7. I used my Koi Watercolors to added color to my cone.  The embossing gives that added texture to my cone.

8. Once the cone dried, I fuss cut the cone out and attached it to my card front using foam adhesive.

9. I added some Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm Sparkling Clear Sequins.

10. I rounded the corners using my corner chomper.

Easy and fun!!  My nieces and daughter loved it.  I hope you do too!

Now its your turn to check out So Suzy Stamps new release and a chance to play along with our new challenge!

The month of January beings a lot of news.  Over at the So Suzy Stamps Blog our new challenge is Ready for the New Year – Use Something New!!
