CS Take It Make It: Watercoloring with Inks

Hello everyone!! I’m here with CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Challenge Inspiration for June.

Our theme is Take a Technique: Lets Get Inky!!

For this month’s challenge the technique we would like you to use more then one type of ink on your project (ink pads, ink sprays, stains, acrylic inks, etc.) Or more then one color of ink on your project…and don’t forget to include stamping somewhere too!!

This should be super fun to see what you come up with.

Take a look at my card:

My new Alex and Ani Art Infusion Feather bracelet is the inspiration for my card this week. When I saw this bracelet, I knew I had to have it. Its purple and the feather was so pretty. I immediately wanted to make a card that represented my bracelet.

I stamped the feather from Papertrey Ink What the Doodle: Feather Mini Stamp Set using Versafine Ink.

Then I sprinkled Colorbox Sterling Silver Embossing Powder and heat set it.

Then I used Distress Ink Seedless Preserve to watercolor the feather and the card. I heat set the card then colored more ink on top give the different saturation of this pretty purple color.

Once the card dried, I stamped the sentiment using Concord and 9th Sophisticated Script stamp set using Versafine Black Ink.

The feather represents Truth, Light, and Virtue!!

“Keep Your Heart Light” is what the motto!

Your Next Stamp June 2016 Release

Hello everyone!! Yayyy, I love this blog hop featuring new products from Your Next Stamps makes squeal!! LOL!!

This release is super cute!! Yesterday’s sneak peek was fun.

My favorite set from this release is the Sports Fanatics – Lacrosse stamp set! I shared my tags yesterday. My son plays lacrosse and this set was made just for me, LOL!!

I love how simple this stamp set it. It shows the love between a mother and child or even a father and child!!

My card size was to wide for the stamp set so I used portion of the stamp so that the image stretch from one side to the other. I used Copic Markers to color this image in. Nothing to fancy.

This stamp set is very playful, so why not watercolor with it. I just received some new Cosmo Cricket Pixie Paints so I wanted to try them with this stamp set.

I stamped the sentiment, heat embossed it then watercolored on top of it. Super pretty!!

Did You Know?

Hello everyone!!

I’m back again this week with another product that I missed seeing at CHA! Shocking 😱, right!

Watercolor

It’s the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors Watercolor set! I was asked by Annette from Paper Pajamas to give these a try and my feedback!

Here it is:

1. There are 6 mica watercolor pans in this set.

2. The colors are Blue Gold, Rose Gold, Yellow Gold, Champagne Gold, Light Gold and White Gold.

3. Super duper creamy and shimmery!

4. The pigment are of high quality and when mixed together they are beautiful!

5. You can watercolor with them by them self, do calligraphy, brush lettering and you can mix them with the original Gansai set or any other watercolor set for that matter.

6. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY.

{Clean and Simple} CASology 196 – Move

Hello everyone!! It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back with another Clean and Simple Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is:

Take a look at my card:

I have to be super doper honest with you! I created this card a couple of weeks ago because I wanted to play with a new set of watercolors that I received called Gansai Tambi Starry Colors.

Not know what to do with the completed card, I just put it to the side and was going to use it for my Did You Know Series on Instagram.

Then I saw the cue card and said to myself, these feathers move when the when blow so why not use it. My son says mom I don’t see the correlation. I tried to convince him, he just looked at me. LOL!! I told him I’m going with it.

So here we are:

Creating this card was super cool. The watercolor is so vibrant and pretty. I will talk more about them in my series that will go live this week.

All I did was stamp the Papertrey Ink What the Doodle Feather stamp set image using Versamark Ink and sprinkled Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.

Heat set.

Then I watercolored the Red Gold and the Yellow Gold into the feathers with little water. The watercolor is so shimmer and creamy. A little bit goes a long way.

I used Mama Elephant Femme Frames to die cut the card front panel. Then I adhered the panel to the card base using Fun Foam.

Super easy and beautiful!!

This card was simple to make as well. There was some embossing, die cutting and stamping in one color. I love the black and white look.

5 Minute Teacher Appreciation Gifts – YNS

Hello everyone!! This week Your Next Stamp Design Team is show you how to create Teachers Appreciation Gifts for any teachers in your life. May 3rd is Teacher Appreciation Day this year and I’m going to show you how to make a 5 minute Teacher Appreciation Gift.

Take a look at the gifts I created:

I think these little boxes are the cutes thing. They are even easier to create.

Here’s how:

Use Stampin’ UP! Baker’s Box Thinlits Die to cut out two pieces out of Neenah Desert Storm card stock.
Assembly the box according to the score lines.
For box 1: Cut out 2×2 square pieces of pattern paper and adhere it to the four panels of the box.
For box 2: Cut 13inches of ribbon and wrap it around the box, adhering it at the bottom of the box.
For both boxes: Stamp the sentiment from Learning is Fun and the sentiment from Spectacular Teacher onto black card stock. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set.
Die cut each tag out and adhere them to the box using foam tape.
Close Box 1 by string ribbon through the holes.
