Playing with Secondary Colors

Hello everyone!!  I popping in here with some homework for My Favorite Things Summer School Lesson this week.

Lesson #9 is all about Secondary Colors!!

What are Secondary colors you ask?  They are the direct counterparts of the primary colors, red, yellow and blue.  They are Orange, Green and Purple!!

Take a look at my card:

Best of Luck

For my card I used 2 primary and one secondary color!! I love how my card turned out.  I was able to combine two of my favorite products from My Favorite Things!  The Adventure is Calling Stamp Set and the New Jumbo Peek-A-Boo Die Set!!

I used my Fuse Tool to create my shaker pocket and I added Lucy Adams French Lavender Sequin.

I colored the little girl with : R39, E23, E00, E11, E33, V15, R20.

I stamped the sentiment using My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

If you want to know how to make the shaker pocket, check out this post!

I used Copic Markers: C1, C3, RV17 to color my penguins.

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today Guest Designing for The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS)!!  I’m excited about this opportunity!!

Take a look at my card:

You're a lifesaver (TAWS)

I used The Alley Way Kids n’ Caboodle Stamp Set to create this shaker card!!  I had a ton of fun working with this stamp set.

kidncaboodle

All of the images in this stamp set are cute and chunky!!  Great for coloring!

When I saw the sailboat, I knew I need to make a shaker card.  I also knew I wanted the boat to be in the shaker pocket with the sequin, riding the waves!!  LOL!

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50.

2. I cut my card panel to the same size.

3. I used Simon Says Stamp Circle Stitched Circle Dies to cut the window in card panel.  I used the same stitched circle die to cut a circle out of a piece of pattern paper.

4. I used the panel as a guide to adhere the pattern circle to my card base.

5. I colored my sailboat with Copic Markers: R35, R37, R89, B24, B32,Y06 then cut it out.

Sailboat inside (TAWS)

6. I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool to create my shaker pocket.  I added my Lucy Adams Blue Topaz Sequin and my colored sailboat in the pocket before sealing it up.

If your unsure how to use the fuse tool to create a shaker pocket, check out this post.

7. I stamped my sentiment from the stamp set in My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.

8. Once the pocket was sealed, I adhered it to the back of the card panel and added foam adhesive.

Sailboat pieces (TAWS)

9. I added the panel to the card base and I was done!!!

When you shake the card the boat moves along with the sequin.  It’s super cute.

So what do you think? Please leave a comment below.

I hope I’ve inspired you to check out The Alley Way Stamps Store if you haven’t already!!

Your Next Stamp July 2015 Sneak Peek

Hello everyone!! This is my first post as a Your Next Stamp Design Team member!!  I’m over the top excited about this opportunity.

We are getting ready for our July Release Blog Hop tomorrow with a sneak peek today.  Are you excited?  Well me too!!

Take a look at my card that I’m giving you a sneak peek of:

Lift me up (YNS Peek)I couldn’t resist making a shaker card with this super stamp set!! Shaker cards are so much fun to make and this heart called for it.

This stamp set is called Waddles Rainbow Fun and there are 15 clear stamps in this set.

I actually cut that heart out using and old fashion craft knife because I didn’t get the die set in time. That was fun and back to the basics.

How did I create this card:

1. I cut my base cardstock to an A2 size card, 4.25 x 5.50.  I cut the white cardstock to 4 x 5.50. I cut the pink cardstock to 3.75 x 5.50.

2. I used the cloud stamp and stamped a few clouds using Versamark Ink eyeballing where I wanted to stamp my hot air balloon.

3. I stamped my sentiment using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink to the left of where I wanted my hot air balloon to be.

4. I finally stamped my hot air balloon using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink on the right of the sentiment.

5. I use my craft knife to cut out the stamped heart.  I positioned my pink panel over the white panel so I could stamp the sentiment within the heart shape.

6.  I created my shaker pocket and added Lucy Adams Cherry Blossom Sequin before sealing the pocket up.

If you want step by step instruction on to create a shaker pocket click here.

7. I added the shaker pocket to the pink panel.  Then I added foam tape to the entire panel so that its raised off the white cardstock.

8. I decided to not color my image because I loved the simplicity of the card.

So are you excited about what you see?  You have to see what my fellow team members came up with the rest of the release!

You can find all of the new projects on the Your Next Stamp Blog!!

I hope I see all of you tomorrow for the July 2015 Release Hop!!

Top Dog Dies – Butterfly

Hello everyone!!! It’s Top Dog Die Wednesday!!  I’m here today showcasing Top Dog Dies Butterfly Die Set!!

TDD Butterfly

When I first saw this butterfly die set I knew I had to have it.  Its super intricate.  I love the detail!

A couple of days ago I was on Instagram, my favorite social media site, and came across Bianca better known as@thecoloursofmagic.  She posted a finish piece of different distress inks blended together.  I fell in love. I knew I had to give this a try.

Take a look at her color combo:

FullSizeRender (1)

Totally awesome right!! Thanks Bianca for sharing!! Check her out, she has some great coloring photos in her feed.

Now take a look at my card:

Butterfly 4 (TDD)

I love how you can see the multicolors behind the butterfly.  I added some Clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer.

Butterfly 3 (TDD)

Such a great card to give to a friend.  I stamped Mama Elephant Sunday Sentiments on the inside of the card.

Butterflyinside (TDD)

Look at how beautiful those colors look behind that butterfly!  Love it.

Butterfly (TDD)

Butterfly 2 (TDD)

This card was easy to create:

1. I partial die cut my butterfly out of the card panel.

2. I used an ink blending tool to blend Distress Ink Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick and Seedless Preserve on my card base.

3. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the blended colors.

Tip: be careful when using the wink of stella on distress ink.  Since the distress ink activates with water, the liquid will move the colors around.  So good across the colors not up and down.

4. I added the card panel to the card base using Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.

5. I stamped my sentiment from Mama Elephants Sunday Sentiments on the inside of my card using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.

6. I used my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round the bottom corners.

7. I added Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm Sparkling Clear Sequins.

So what do you think?  I hope you like this card as much as I enjoy making it!

Waffle Flower Crafts – Photo Inspiration

Hello everyone!! I’m here with our new Waffle Flower Crafts Photo Inspiration Challenge!!!

This is our tenth challenge for 2015 and this happens to be my favorite photo to date.

Take a look:

Waffle Flower Craft

Look at how vibrant those colors are!

Take a look at my photo:

Hello (WFC)Oh man, I couldn’t help myself with this card.  I love those ombre colors in the photo above that I had to recreate the same look with one of the colors.

Here’s how I created this card:

1. My card base is cut to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50 scored at 5.50).

2. I cut the card panel to 2.25 x 5.50

3. I used Distress Ink Salty Ocean to create my ombre look.  I started with the full strength of the ink to the paper.  Then I tapped off on the side before added the color to the paper.  Then I lightly add color to the bottom of the paper.

4. I place my panel into my Misti and stamped a flower from Waffle Flower Crafts Flower Circles Stamp Set with Versamark Ink.

5. I added Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set it.

6. I used the same stamp set to stamp my sentiment with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink.

7. I pop my card panel up with fun foam and I added Pretty Pink Posh Winter Snow Mix sequin randomly.

Super cool!!  I love how this card turned out.

So what do you think? Please let me know.

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Hello Hippo!!

Hello everyone!!  I popping in today with a cute card I created this weekend! I had some time to sit and color with my daughter.

FullSizeRender(5)

This image from Gerda Steiner Designs!!  It’s the Hippo with Butterfly digital image.  Her hippos are super cute.  I have them all!!  I just need more time to color.

So which color shirt do you like?  I went with the orange one.  It just looks so cute on that hippo.

Take a look at my card:

Hello Hippo

Oh, look how cute that hippo looks!!  He tickles me!!

Wait before I continue, did you see my new watermark for my pictures!!!  I’m excited about it.  My good friend Kristina Beagle from Live Love Laugh Scrap created it for me.  Oh man, can I say she made my day yesterday!! Thanks you so much Kristina!!  Go and check her out, she is a fabulous card maker!

Now if you’ve been following me lately, you know that I have a love for shaker cards because of my new Fuse tool.  I can make shaker cards all day long.

This card was pretty easy to make as well.

1. I used Mama Elephant Femme Frames (which I can’t find as a stand along die anymore, I see them under the Basic Set) to cut out to frames from the Simon Says Stamp June 2015 card kit.

2. I used Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Circle die to cut a circle in the yellow pattern paper.

3. I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool and the plastic slips to created a shaker pocket.

4. I added Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm sparkling clear sequins to the shaker pocket and used the fuse tool to seal it shut.

5. I adhered the shaker packet to the back of the yellow pattern paper with adhesive.

6. I attached that top panel to the orange panel with foam tape.

7. I attached the entire panel to the card base with adhesive.

8. I used Copic markers to color my hippo.

Y17, Y38, T0, T1, T2, B000

9. I used Top Dog Dies Hello Die to cut 2 hello’s for my sentiment. I adhered the two pieces together then attached it to the card front.

And there you have it!!  My cute hippo card.  Nothing to it!

Gerda Steiner Designs is have a Design Team Call and I figured why not put my name in the pot!

Waffle Flower Craft – Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hello everyone!! I’m here with our new Waffle Flower Crafts Photo Inspiration Challenge!!!

This is our ninth challenge for 2015! I love this challenge, it really takes me out of my safe space when creating.

This weeks photo is so lovely!

Take a look:

Waffle Flower Photo Inspiration May 25

This photo inspired me to create a shaker card!

Take a look:

With Love (WFC)

I told you I love the new release dies and stamps!! I couldn’t help myself in using this die again.

I’m also obsessed with shaker cards now that I know how to make them with ease!!

Let’s look at how I created this card:

1. I die cut all of my frames using Waffle Flower Craft Doily Square Die.

With Love 1

2.  To start I added adhesive to the front panel base die cut layer. I’m doing this so that my frames will stay in place.

With Love 2

3. I added the second die cut base that will hold my actually frame in place.

With Love 3

4. I added my pink frame to the base.  I also added the Kraft inserts around the pink frame.  I added to much tape so I decided to add these pieces to over up the tape.

With Love 4

5.  Now its time to make the shaker part of my card!!  Yayy!  I love this part.

Ok, I took one of my memory keepers scrapbook sleeves and cut it in half.  I taped down my die with washi tape to keep it in place.

With Love 5

6. I meant to take a photo of my actually using the fuse but I forgot but you will see it below.

I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool to seal the edges.  Then I cut off the excess plastic. After tracing the edge of the die, your shaker pocket looks like this. Can you see what I did wrong here?  Yes, I sealed the entire thing before adding my sequin, LOL!  Ok, easy fix.  I just use my Kraft knife to open up a small portion.

I told you I love making these.  I get so excited.

With Love 6

7. After filling the pocket with Lucy Adams Phosphorescence Sequin, I used the fuse tool to seal the shaker pocket up. I just laid the die back on the pocket lining it up with the previous fuse.

With Love 7

8. Here is what the pocket looks like when its sealed and ready to add to your card.

What I notice what this pocket fit but it was to big.  I used the bigger die and didn’t need to.  I need to use the smaller die from that set.  So I started over.

With Love 8

9.  Ok, this die is much better.  The actually frame where the shaker will show is this size so there was no need for the bigger one.

So, I did the same thing I did above.

With Love 9

10. See here you can see me using the fuse to seal the sides of my shaker pocket.

With Love 10

11. Here you can see that I added the sequin and trimmed the edges down.  I’m sealing the opening so that my sequin doesn’t fall out.

With Love 11

12. Here is my finished pocket!  I left some of the edge so that I can adhere it to my card base.

With Love 12

13. I add tape to my card panel. So that my shaker pocket will stay in place.

With Love 13

14. I adhered the shaker pocket so that the fused line doesn’t show through the window of the card.

With Love 14

15. I added foam tape to the card panel that it will stick to the card base with some room for my sequin to shake.

With Love 15

16. I added the front panel to my card base. So how easy that was.  Super fun to create.

With Love 16

17.  To finish the card off, I die cut 4 Waffle Flower Craft With Love Word Die out of Simon Says Stamp Lemon Chiffon Yellow Cardstock.

With Love 17

18. I adhered them with Tombow Multipurpose Glue and adhered it to the front of my card.

That’s my card for this challenge.  I challenge you to make a shaker card. It’s super fun and pretty.

Do you see how I used the colors to create my card.  I love this color scheme.

So what do you think? Please let me know.

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
