Smile, I Love You!

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CAS(E) this Sketch #101 and only have a couple of hours to get my card in before it closes.  Why do I put myself under soooo much pressure?  I seem to think, that my best work comes from stressful situations, LOL.  That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

CTS_101

The guest designer this week is Anita and she did a great job with this one.  I hope my card measures up.

I’m also entering the Waffle Flower Anything Goes Challenge for the first time.

Take a look at my card:

Smile I love you

So what do you thing?  Did I past?  Do you agree that I work best under pressure?

I wanted to make sure I stuck to her design from the sketch to the pop of color in my flower.

My original thought was to create a tag using my new Waffle Flower: Flower Circle Die, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it.  So I just added the flower cut pieces to the front of my card.

I then stamped my sentiment from Craftin Desert Divas Say It Big stamp set, in the center of the flower.  Then I decided to add another sentiment from the same set under the flower.  Both sentiments just seem to fit perfectly.

I added some Pretty Pink Posh 6mm Sparkling Sequins and 4mm Sparkling Sequins and Clear Wink of Stella on the flower and sentiments.

I rounded the corners and decided that my card was done.

So, what do you think?  Let me know below what you think.  After I completed the card, I realized that I could have made the card a shaker card.  Next time!!

Smiling Is So Contagious

Have you ever smiled till it hurts?

Smiling

Well I’ve been smiling since Saturday.

I received some good news yesterday from CAS(E) this sketch!  My Seeing Stars card was chosen as one of their favorite cards!!!!!  You can check out the announcement here. I was so excited.  Thank you ladies for that distinction.

I’m here again with another CAS(E) this sketch! #78.  Julie Day created the sketch for this challenge.

This was a fun sketch to work with.  Since I was so happy, I wanted to stick with happy colors for this sketch.

Take a look:

Smile someone love you

I used the zig zap stamp form Life is a Journey Simon Says Stamp to create the zig zap pattern in the three different colors.

I had to use Papertrey Ink’s Wet Paint 3 Smile sentiment because I can’t stop smiling.

To give balance to the card I added some sequins and rhinestones in the colors of the ink.

Simply but classy one layer card! What do you think?

Calling All Watercolor Pros……

I’m looking for everyone who loves WATERCOLORS!!!  This medium is awesome.  My Watercolor for card makers class has really stretched our stamps, dies and our imagination.

I’m having so much fun in this class.  I have so many cards to post.  I’m working late night on all of the techniques that are taught in the class.

Today’s card technique basic stamping for watercolor.  Yana Smakula taught the class that some of our stamps in our stash can be used to create a watercolor look.

Watercolor Smile

I used a big flower stamp for the Betsy’s Blossoms Stamp Set from Stampin’ UP!  By the way, this stamp set is retiring.

I added my Crayola watercolors to my acrylic block and stamped my flower stamp onto that block.  I then stamped the flower onto my watercolor paper 6 times.  Each flower looks different.  I love how it turned out.

I wanted the sentiment to standout so I stamped it in black and added my thick bakers twine for an added dimension.

What do you think?

Watercolor Splats

Did I tell you that I’m soooo excited about Water-coloring!!!  Well, just in case you missed it, I’m soooo excited about Water-coloring!!!!!

My water-coloring class starts next week and I can’t wait.  So in the meantime, I’m practicing using my watercolors.  I’m also waiting from my order to come in with some different types of watercolors for this class.  What class you ask, its my Online Card Class called Watercolor for card makers.  I want to learn everything there is to know about how to use water-coloring on my cards.  I also want my 7-year-old daughter to learn all about water-coloring as well. She’s taking the class with me, lol.

Today’s card is for Papertrey Ink’s Make it Monday #161: Watercolor Splats challenge.  What a great way to practice water-coloring!!! I Love It.

So, watercolor splats are a fun twist that lets you use droplets of water to do all of the work for you.  I used Papertrey dye ink’s to pull of this effect.  My order of ink’s came in today which was perfect for this card.  The colors are amazing and they do dry fast.

Take a look:

You are My...Watercolor Splats

To create these watercolor splats, I used my sponge daubers to apply the ink to my paper.  I love the textured look the sponge daubers created on my paper.

After applying each color of ink, I used my Artist’s Loft #4 paint brush soaked with water and touched my paper with the tip of the brush.  I didn’t press hard at all.

Once the water landed on the paper, the ink started to move all by itself.  To create bigger circles, I just added more water to the center of the circle.  It was fun to watch.

I can’t wait for my 8 year daughter to create her card with these splats.  She is going to be amazed.  I’ll post her card when she is done.

You Make Me Smile Big

I’m back again with another fun card for you.  I made this card using the Big You die from Simon Says Stamp and the Hello You stamp set.  The card stock and pattern paper came from one of SSS card kit.

Take a look:

You make me smile big

I gave the you’s some dimension by die cutting eight extra yous and stacking them together.  I love how the you’s compliment the strip of pattern paper. I added two hearts to balance out the bottom of the card.

Please let me know what you think of my card.

Clean & Simple 3 Card Class – Day 7 Creative Coloring

I’m so excited about today’s class because we learned how to do some creative coloring.  I love coloring because it is so easy to do and it reminds me of my childhood.  Back then we were not worried about perfection and was happy with what our finally project looked like even if we went outside the lines!!!

The card that I made is sooooo cute!!!  Kristin Werner taught us how to do simple Copic coloring.  I’ve grown to love Copic coloring but have been afraid to use them.  I’m not sure why, they won’t bit.  Sorry I digress, back to today’s card.

Take a look for yourself:

Smile Die Cut

Doesn’t this card make you want to smile and keep smiling.  Anyone who gets this card will have a brighter day.  I will definitely will use my Copic markers to create more cards like this.  The colors I used for my card are RV66,BV17, YR16, BG49 and YR23.

Please leave a comment letting me know what you think of my Copic Colored “Smile”!

CAS(E) this Sketch!

I am participating in this new card sketch by CAS(E) this Sketch!  Today’s card is a series of three stamped images across the front of the card with the sentiment on top or below.

Take a look:

You make me smile

I was wondering about the smiley face being in black but the more I look at it the more I loved how the card came out.  I balanced the smiley face out with the sentiment in black.  The twine matched the color combo of the sun.  For me this is a well balanced card.  What do you think?
