the-ton

If you arrived here from the talented Janette blog then you are on the right track.  If you arrived here on your own, you will want to start at the beginning, The Ton blog, as to not miss any of the amazing projects!

The Ton has 23 new stamps for their Fall 2016 Release (18 clear stamps, 5 rubber cling) which include the Christmas Poinsettia set – a mini 2×3 stamp set which will be included in all orders over $100 (before shipping and taxes).  All new release products (stamps, gilding) are available now!

Lets jump in:

For my first card I used the Holiday Border Background stamp and I love it.  Such a pretty border stamp and the possibilities are endless.

I used red embossing power but it didn’t show up red because of the black cardstock. The white specs represents falling snow, in a very subtle way.

holiday-wishes-white

I created two cards to show off how the stamp looks on white and black cardstock.  Totally beautiful.

For my second card I used the Mistletoe Kisses sentiment stamp set.  Super cute sentiments that you can use on any Christmas cards.

Watercoloring is my favorite medium and I wanted to showcase the sentiment by creating a non-traditional Christmas card.

This sentiment is so fitting for the watercolored background.

Thank you Post cards

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with So Suzy Stamps!!

I’m currently on a couple college tours with my kids.  Yes, I have a 17 year old son who will graduate in June and I still can’ believe it.

We are currently walking on campus so let me jump in so that I don’t walk into trees while typing my post, LOL!!

Our challenge this month is all about Thanksgiving/Fall so I thought it was fitting to create thank you postcards to send those that we are thankful for.

Maximize Your Top Dog Dies!

Hello everyone!!  I’m on the Top Dog Dies Blog today with another card that I created using one of my new dies.

Did you see that awesome release yesterday?  Top Dog Dies released 10 new dies and they are really to “die” for!!  Just in case you missed it you can find it here.

They are giving away all of the dies to one lucky winner!!  That is $122.00 worth of great dies!! You don’t want to miss that.

Today I’m here to show you how to maximize your dies.  I used the new Top Dog Dies Typewriter Uppercase Die!

How many time do we use a die for it’s intended purpose but throw the negative piece away?  Well not today.  I’m going to show you how to use that negative piece on your project.

(I saw a card with this technique and I knew I need to give it a try.  I wish I knew whose card it was but if anyone knows please let me know.)

Now take a look at my card:

Watercolor Love You

Hello everyone!  I’m back again with AAA Cards Game #10 Watercolor techniques and Virginia’s View Challenge #5.

V. V. Challenge #5 (2)

Take a look at my card:

Watercolor Love you

I used Simon Says Stamp Mosaic Heart Stencil and Distress Inks Pack 1 to create my beautiful heart on watercolor paper.

Watercolor Love You close up

I used Simon Says Stamp Big You die to cut out 4 “you” dies out of basic black cardstock and stacked them together to add dimension.

I choose to use black cardstock so that the “you” would pop against the bright watercolor heart. I used clear foam tape to adhere the “you’ to my card.  I love this tape because you will never see the tape behind your project.  Thank you Jennifer McGuire for that one.

I love how it turned out.  I went to my brother and asked him to tell me what the card said and he nailed it on the first try.

So, I’m confident you will see that my card says I Love You!

Let me know what you think.  I would love to get feedback.

Who Doesn’t Want A Hug?

I’m back again today with another card for Less is More Week 173.  Today’s card is very simple and clean!  I’ve combined my love of water-coloring and die-cutting to create my card.

For those of you who don’t know a couple of weeks ago I start a watercolor class and absolutely loved it.  Before, the class started we were instructed to practice using our “stuff” and I created a couple of single pieces.  I had hoped to use my pieces during the class but never did because I create other cards.  So, when Less is More decided that their recipe this week would be Die Cut, I knew I had to use this piece on my card. No need to throw anything away, especially a big Hug as pretty as this.

Hugs

I know I wanted to keep my card very simple because the watercolor image is so powerful by itself.

Hugs top view

I die cut out 4 hugs and attached them to my watercolor piece to create some dimension on the front of my card.

Side note: I’ve been working on improving my photograph.  The background of these pictures are a little dark but I like the effect.  It gives the card a warm feeling which is what I love in the words of Olaf, “I Love Warm Hugs“!!

So, what do you think? Do you like “Warm Hugs” too?

Let me know.

Koi Watercolor Swatches

I’m back today after a couple of days off!  I’ve been working with my daughter to set up her blog.  I’m so excited about it and so is she.  She can’t wait to go live!!!  I will let all of you know when her blog goes live.

My Watercolor for Cardmarkers Online Card Class starts Monday coming and I can’t wait!  Monday, May 5th can’t come fast enough.

So in the meantime, Kristina Werner wanted us to play with all of the watercolors we have.  Our homework was to create color swatches to familiarize ourselves with the colors we have.  I have five different sets of watercolors for this class.  I want to use all of them.

My first swatch was made with my new Koi Watercolors.  It comes in a small portable case that has a removable palette inside.

Take a look:

These colors are so vibrant and pretty.  My favorite colors are numbers 15, 19 and 23!!! I used those color to create the card that is behind my swatch.  I will post that card next.

Let me know what you think.
