Warm Holiday Wishes – So Suzy Stamps

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with So Suzy Stamps!!  I decided to create a tag using one of Suzy’s new stamps.

Take a look:

Warm Wishes Gift tag 2

I’m sending this gift to a really cool crafty friend.  Inside is a super cute mug, so I found it fitting to use So Suzy Stamp Snowman cup for my tag.

I stamped my image, used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut the image out and then I used my Copic markers to color the image in.  The colors are R39, E07, B12, B14, B37, B000.
cut diagram (SSS) copy

I packaged my mug and wrapped my box with that pretty ribbon.  I added my tag behind the bow.

Super easy to do.  One box down, two more to go!!!

What will you create this month?  I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

CASology – 176 Tree

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is :

Week 176 - Tree

Take a look at my card:

Pear Tree

I love watercoloring so I decided to do that technique for this clean and simple card.  I have to admit, I’m not impressed with my partridge.  The rest of my coloring, I love but that bird, doesn’t impress me.  It just means I need to practice it more.  I should have waited for each section of the bird to dry first before starting another color.

Despite all of that, I love how my card turned out.  This tree is super cute and perfect for the holiday season.

To create this card, all I did was stamp the tree and sentiment from retired Stampin’ Up! Partridge & Pears.  I used Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pen to color the images in. It was super relaxing to watercolor today.

I had all of nieces on Sunday, so as I colored my image, I had them color theirs with crayons.

Take a look:

They did a fantastic job.  Another great Sunday with my daughter and nieces!!

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Fifth Day of Gift Giving – Slider Dies

Hello everyone!!  I’m here with Your Next Stamp with this amazing series called 12 Days of Gift Giving!!

12-days-gift-giving-badge-547x226

I’m super excited about this series because it forced me to look at YNS dies differently.  I’ve always had a love for packaging but rarely get to do it.

So today I have a super easy tutorial for you: Pop Up Gift Card Holder!! I learned how to create this sometime last year and Never got a chance to try it.  So why not now!!

Take a look at what we are going to make:

Outside:

Gift Card Holder 1

Inside:

Gift Card Holder 3

Are you ready to see how this is done! Check this out:

First: You have to cut your gift card holder base to 9-3/8 by 5.  Then you need to score it.  On the long side: 9-3/8 side, score at 2-7/8 and 7-1/16.  On the short side: 5 score 1/2 on the left side and the right side.
Score lines

Second: You have to cut down the 1/2 inch score line to the 7-1/16 score line. Leaving the bottom for the card holder.

Cut edges

Third: Then I rounded the edges of the short panel without the flaps.

Rounded edges

Fourth: Then you add strong tape to the two bottom flaps to create a pocket.

Tabs

Fifth: Then you pull the tape backing off and carefully line up the side and press closed.

Closed base

Sixth: Then you have to cut a smaller card base (4-7/8 by 3-5/8) that you gift card will be attached to.

Inside piece

Seventh:  Then you have to score this to 1/2 on one side and 3-1/2 on the other side.  Then you have to round the edge on the 3-1/2 score line to match the base.

Inside score

Now take a look at both pieces before we go any further.

Side by side

Eighth: Now its time to add the ribbon.  I cut a 20in piece of ribbon and then cut that in half and taped it down on the top flap on opposite ends.

Ribbon

Ninth: Then I added tape to the inside panel.

Tape downside

Tenth: Once you take off the backing of the tape, you have to insert the small panel inside the base. You fold the small flap and side the panel into the base.

Insert small piece

Eleventh: Once you insert the small panel, make sure you line the small insert up with the base at the top and press down on the tape area, so that it stays.

Pieces put together

Take a look at the closed holder.

Closed

Twelfth: Then I cut the front panel to 3-3/4 by 2-1/2 out of pattern paper.  I also cut a white piece of cardstock to the same size for the backing.  Then I used YNS Slider/Spinner Die to cut a opening in the patten paper.

Slider panel

Thirteen: Then I lined my pattern paper up with the white cardstock and placed my sentiment in place to stamp.  I used the Misti to help position it.

Misti

Fourteen: Once the sentiment was stamped I placed the patten paper on top to make sure the sentiment is lined up.

Sentiment

Fifteen: Then I builded the slider with dimes and foam tape.

dime slider

slider building

Sixteen: Once your slider is built you can decorate it later. To add it to your white backing you need to add a lot of foam tape so it doesn’t fall in.

Foam tape

Seventeen: Then you add the panel to the front of your gift card holder.

Put together

Eighteen: Then you add your gift card to the inside panel.  I added a small strip of adhesive to the top of the gift card so that it stays in place.

Completed

Then you added what you would like to the slider for decoration.  I added an embellishment.

To keep it closed I added a piece of velcro to the flap.  Nice finish!!

Take another look:

Gift Card Holder 3

When you push it closed the panel slides down into the holder.

Sorry for the long tutorial!  I wanted to make sure you were able to create one for yourself!

Super cute!!  What do you think? Would you like a gift card holder like this one?

Thank you so much for stopping by!

CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique

Hello everyone!! I’m here with CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique Challenge Inspiration for December.

Our theme is Take a Technique: Sharing the Season!!

For this month’s challenge the technique we would like to see Seasonal creations: Winter/icy themed, or even Christmas projects if you’re not bored of these already! For those readers who live in different climates: Why not share your December seasons with us!

This should be super fun to see what the whether looks like in different parts of the world.

Take a look at my card:

Happy Holiday (TIMI)

Here in the USA, we are in the middle of fall and winter.  No, snow in my are yet, but they have some 4 hours away from me.  I hope we don’t get any.  I don’t care for the snow to much.  It makes it hard to drive.  Don’t get me wrong, its pretty but its troublesome.

I created this card using Purple Onion Designs Stacey Yacula Studio – Birch (Winter Bunny)!  Such a cute image and fun to color.  I used my Faber-Castel Polychromos Coloring Pencils.

I inked the background, added some embossing past for snow and a stitched hill.

I love how this card turned out!! Super pretty!

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for December: Polkadoodles

pd

The prize is a £25 voucher to spend in the online store.

Our second winner is our Design Winner. This winner is chosen by our DT, who all vote for their favorite design from all of the entries. This winner will have their winning project published in Craft Stamper Magazine, they will have a GDT slot for an upcoming challenge, and will also feature in their very own Winners Profile blog post!

I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

If your looking for So Suzy Stamps Blog Hop, click here

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is :

Week 175 - Pie

Take a look at my card:

Pie (CAS)

OMG!!  You can’t get any more Clean and Simple then this!!! I love it.

When I saw the cue card was pie, I knew I didn’t want to use the food pie because that was typical. So I thought about pi in math class.  I was going to draw the symbol but I can’t draw and that would have been a disaster waiting to happen.

So I went with the next best thing!!  The actually number for “pi”.

To create this card, I die cut a scrap piece of ink blended paper with Papertrey Ink Sew Stylish Number Die Collection. I used Tombow Multipurpose glue to adhere the number to the card base.   Nice and easy.

So what do you think?  Did I inspire you?

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
