How to Decorate a Photo Frame with Ink

Fourth Post for today

If your looking for So Suzy Stamps post, click here

Hey everyone!! I’m up on the Clearsnap Blog today sharing how I decorated a photo frame with ink for the May Color Challenge.

Take a look at the Inspiration photo:

Clearsnap-MAY-2016-Color-Challenge

My project today is a super cool project.  I decorated a photo frame with ink and had a blast doing it. The best part about this photo frame is its a gift for my dad!

Now onto my photo frame:

Oh I love how this frame turned out!! The colors are fantastic!! The best part of this process is no drying time!! The ink dries almost immediately!

Here’s how this frame was created:

Cover your workstation up with a craft mat! I can’t stress that enough.

Then apply the ink directly to the frame using the ink pad itself.

With the second color, press the ink pad down onto the craft mat, leaving some ink residue behind.

Second color

With a craft paint brush pick up the ink and apply it to the edge.

NOTE: You have to move fast because this ink dries super fast.

Pick up ink

Once your done applying the color to the edges, add color to white cardstock to create a matching flower.

Create a flower using a die and the color cardstock.

Create a flower

Then you stamp whatever sentiment you want on the frame.  The frame is complete.

Take a look at it again:

I gave the frame to my dad and he loved it!!  Something to hold onto for a long time to come.  Now my brothers and sister know that I’m the favorite so they don’t mind not being included.  LOL!!!

So what do you think? Please let me know below.

Sparkle and Shine

Now take a look at my card:

From my garden (YNS)

I had so much fun watercoloring this Dahlias from WPlus 9 Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlias stamp set.

I used these amazing Daniel Smith dots:

Daniel Dots

Those small dots packs a big punch.  This was the first time I used them and I like them.  If I wanted to purchase any colors I have a true sample to guide me.

Here is how I created this card:

I used the Mini Misti to stamp the image and sentiment on Tim Holtz Watercolor papers using Ranger Archival Black Ink.

Then I used the watercolor dots to color the image in.

Nice and easy.

What do you think?  I would love to hear from you.

Now its your turn to give this challenge a try!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!

Take a look at my card:

Happy Day (SS)

I was so unsure what I was going to create for this challenge.  Then my new stamp set from Darkroom Door Fine Flowers arrived and I had to try it out.

I love this whimsical flower and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

To create this card, all I did was score the top of the card front randomly. Then I stamped the flower image using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink. After that I colored the flowers using Copic V15, V06, V09 and Y19. Once that was completed, I used Concord and 9th Sophisticated Script stamp set to stamp the sentiment.

What do you think?

Now its your turn to give this challenge a try!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!

If your looking for the Sparkle and Shine post, click here

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is:

Week 189 - Doodle

Take a look at my card:

Just a note

When I saw the cue card, I thought about drawing my own design, LOL!!  Are you kidding me.  Not this time around.  Let me practice some more before I put myself out their.

So I want straight to the stamp set that was all about doodling, WPlus Nine Doodle Bud!

I just finished creating 105 wedding invites and had tons of scrap paper so I asked on Instagram what should I do with all of that paper and everyone said use it to create cards.

Scrap paper

So this is the first card I created using the left over paper.  This card isn’t an A2 card.  Its smaller!!  I think it’s perfect.

Creating this card was easy, I just stamped the images using the Mini Misti and colored them in using Tombow’s Recycled Coloring Pencils and Sand Eraser.

Nice and easy!!

What do you think?  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

For more inspiration, check out my fellow Design Team members blog for more awesome work.

Right At Home March Release Blog Hop

Hello everyone!!  I’m excited to be here with you today to sharing an amazing project created for the Right At Home March Release Blog Hop!!  This is the design team third blog hop and we are delight to full you with inspiration.

march-release-cover-photo

The new Abstract Florals and Script Greeting stamp sets are so much fun to play with.  I have to admit the Abstract Floral stamp set is totally out of my comfort zone.  I can’t figure out which inks to use to build the flowers.  Play with this set, has helped me a lot.

Take a look at my cards:

Hello (RAH)

I love how my flowers turned out. I shied away from building my flowers this go round but you will see that later this month.

Here’s how I created these cards:

  1. Both cards are an A2 size cards, 4.25 by 5.50 scored at 5.50.
  2. I used the Mini Misti to stamp the flowers, stem and sentiment all at one time using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.  It saved me time on the second card as well, since everything was in the right place.
  3. After the flowers were stamped, I used Tombow Recycled Color Pencils to color them in.
  4. Once the flowers were all colored, I took Tombow Mono Sand Eraser and give the tip of the flowers some highlights.
  5. I added some YNS Give Thanks for Sparkle and Candy Land Glittered Gumdrops and round the top corners to finish the cards off.

I’m going to make a couple more of these cards so that I can include them in the happymail packages that I send to my giveaway winners.

Your next stop on this awesome hop is Yuki’s blog! She is amazing!!

What’s a hop without a giveaway!! One lucky person who hops along and leaves a comment on each blog will win the Scripty Greeting stamp set.
