CASology 137 – Tropical

Hello everyone!!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!

Week 137 - Tropical

When I saw this cue card I thought of fun under the sun!! Especially since we are covered in snow here.  I can’t wait for the sun to start shining bright here.

I created two completed different cards for this challenge.

For the first card I blended 4 different colors to create a beautiful tropical background.

Take a look at my card:

You are coolThe colors are so pretty!! To create this card:

1. I die cut the circle using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Die.

2. I die cut the buttons turned into “flowers” out using Papertrey Ink Button Stacks Die.

3. I used Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean to create my tropical background.

4. My sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, they sent it to me with one of my orders as a thank you.  It was super fitting for this card.

5. I stamped the sentiment then I flagged the thin strip of cardstock. I attached it to my circle using my regular tape runner.

5. I attached my stitched circle and buttons using foam adhesive.

6. I attached Doodlebug Design Sprinkles Birthday Boy enamel dots to the center of the buttons.

You are cool straight foward

I love how that card turned out.

Now onto my second card:

This card is for Kathy’s 30 day coloring challenge.  I’ve been practicing my coloring so I wanted to stay with that challenge.

Take a look at my card:

Hello Sunshine

For this card I used a retired Stampin’ Up! image and colored it with Prisma color pencils just to see how the look.  I’m ok with this image but I’m not satisfied with it. I want to practice this type of coloring more.

I used Distress Ink Salty Ocean and the sentiment stamp is Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine.

This card fits the tropical theme, the sun, the ocean water, the kids in the sunshine.  Who could ask for anything more.

I hope my cards have inspired you to join us this month.

CASology 136 – Basket and Giveaway!

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!! We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!

So this cue word seems easy, right?  Well not so easy.  I had nothing, nothing in my stash that screamed “Basket”.  I search all of my retired stamps and my new stamps that haven’t been touch yet and I couldn’t find anything with a basket.

Then I remember, the light bulb went off, I received some new stamps for an upcoming release from So Suzy Stamps and guess what stamp was in that package.  Yes, a basket of apples!!  I was super excited.  I’m still in the race with my fellow DT members!!

Take a look at my card:

You're A Good Apple2

Yes, this basket of apples saved the day for me.  To create this card was super easy minus the coloring.

1. I cut my card base to an A2 size card (4.25 x. 5.50). I cut a piece of Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather Patten Paper and adhered it to the front of my card base.

2. I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX die to cut out a piece of white cardstock.

3. I stamped my image and colored it in with Copic Markers; W4, Y13, Y15, Y19, E31, E33, E35, E37, R22 R24 and N5.

4. I stamped my sentiment from Lawn Fawn Good Teacher stamp set.

5. I adhered the white panel to the front of my card base with foam adhesive.

6. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to my apples and belly ban on my basket.

That was it!  Nice and easy thanks to So Suzy Stamps!!  So since her basket of apples saved the day for me.

I’m doing a giveaway!!!!  Two lucky winners will win a pre-release Basket of Apples stamp!

All you have to do is leave a comment below letting me know which medium you prefer to color with.  You have until Monday, March 9th at 11:59 to leave a comment for a chance to win.

CASology 135 – Mini

Second Post

If your looking for the Top Dog Dies Blog Hop post, click here

Hello everyone!!  Its CASology Tuesday!!  We are back again with another Cue Card for you!!

Week 135 - Mini

I have to say, I thought long and hard about this word “Mini”.  My first thoughts were to do something with Mini Mouse on it. Then I realized I do not have any Mini Mouse stamps, papers or embellishments so I had to scratch that idea.

Then I thought to myself, what is mini?  What do I have in my stash that is mini?  Then it hit me.

A couple weeks back, I bought a stamp set from my Instagram friend,  Vanessa who is the owner of V’s Sweet Ideas!

The set is called Coffee Break and all of the images are mini!!  Super perfect for this challenge.

Check it out:

Coffee_20Break_400w

Aren’t these the cutest “mini” images! I decided to make a couple of cards using the images from this set.

Take a look:

I used my Prisma Color Pencils for the first time and Gamsol to color in all of my images! I love the creaminess of these pencils.

Mini (CAS)

I stamped the image in the center for an added touch, LOL.  I stamped another sentiment from the set and a red heart under the iPad.  I used a gold pencil for this iPad.

I love you latte

I used a brown and teal color pencils for this coffee mug!  I stamped the sentiment and a red heart.

Mini 2 (CAS)

This card is my favorite!!  I love to read, if there is one thing you should know about me, I LOVE to read.  So when I saw this book image I was drawn in. I love how the pages of this book looks vintage.  It looks as if this book was really loved by its owners!!  I stamped my sentiment underneath with a red heart.

Mini (all)

Don’t you just love all of these miniature images!!  To top it off, my card stock was cut to a “mini” size as well!!

I hope my card has inspired you to play along with us and this amazing challenge.  So, now its your turn, so go and create something Mini! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

CASology 134 – Monochrome and Giveaway

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday and you know what that means!!

We have a new Cue Card for you! This week the cue card is Monochrome.

Week 134 - Monochrome

What is Monochrome?  I wasn’t sure so I had to look it up in the dictionary.

According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Monochrome describes paintings, drawings, design, or photographs in one color or shades of one color. A monochromatic object or image has colors in shades of limited colors or hues. Images using only shades of grey (with or without black and/or white) are called grayscale or black-and-white.

Interesting, right – but I still wasn’t sure what I could do that would be CAS.  So, I took to Pinterest for a visual.

Take a look at what I found:

e4c8ae26a3465341edf7558407620810

721808a98336f6954f5ff80e226ac73c

Ralph Lauren Spring 2008

When I saw this dress, I knew exactly what I wanted to create.

Take a look at my card:

Confidence is

Happiness Is

How fabulous are these cards!!  Women love dressing up and getting their hair done.  Our vote of confidence rises when we look and feel pretty.

Key word “feel”, that goes with our “Confidence”!!  Once we are confident within ourselves, nothing can stop or make us feel less then.  So when we put on these pretty black dress and nice shoes, we shine double time.

So do you want to know where to find these awesome stamps?

They are from So Suzy Stamps!!  The owner and I met on Instagram (I love Instagram)!!  She wanted to know about some of the embellishments I was using on my cards.  So we got to talking, (more like stalking, LOL) and I found her store all before 9 in the morning!

The “Confidence is Sexy” stamp was the first thing I saw and was hook from there.  I order two of these stamps, one for me and another for my friend in Switzerland.  Then I found out that sentiment went with these pretty black dress and knew they needed to be displayed.

The Wedding Dress and the Black Slinky Dress are perfect for this challenge.

So Suzy Stamps are manufactured in the USA, are made with the traditional red rubber, the foam is indexed and every single stamp tells a story, has a meaning and are all oh So Suzy!!

Guess what???  Suzy was gracious enough to allow me to do a giveaway!!!  Yayyy!!!

I’m giving away the Black Slinky Dress stamp to a random winner who leaves me a comment below letting me know what gives you confidence!

So, now its your turn, so go and create something Monochrome!!!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

CASology 133 – Love

Hello everyone!! Its that time of the week again!!  CASology time!!

The cue card word this week is so fitting since Valentine’s Day is this Saturday.  Can you guess the word is this week?

Take a look:

Week 133 - Love

What is love!! When I was a kid there used to be a comic in the LA Times called Love Is….. totally my favorite comic.  I used to clip the comic everyday.  I’m not even sure why we received the LA Times, I lived in Brooklyn.

When I saw the word “Love”, my thoughts went straight to this comic!  So I wanted to sure one with all of you.

Love IsThese are the cutest comics ever.  That heart made me smile so I decided that I wanted hearts on my card.

Remember my watercolor panel I created a couple of days ago?  I punched a couple more hearts out of it to used on this card.

Watercolor piece 2

Take a look at my card:

Saranghaeyo

I love how this card turned out.  The idea came from Laura Bassen,  she used her sewing machine to attached her hearts to the card panel.  I didn’t think my needle would go through the paper so I used glue to hold them in place.

Lets take a closer look at those hearts:

I love you closeup1

Can you see the gold shimmer on that heart that’s in focus? I love how that turned out.

I love you closeup2

Beautiful watercolor

I love you closeup3

I stacked those hearts in threes and pinched them so that they are raised.

I love how the sentiment nestles right up to the hearts!  Are you wondering what my card says?

Saranghaeyo means I  Love You in Korean.  The stamp set is Waffle Flower Craft DT Mix Stamp Set.

Nice clean and simple!!  What do you think?

CASology 132 – HOT

Hello everyone!!  Its Tuesday so you know what that means.  I’m here with the new CASology Challenge today.

The Cue Card is super interesting this week.

Take a look:

Week 132 - Hot

Here is my interpretation of the Cue Card:

(CAS) Hot Apple Cider

This snowy cold weather calls for a super warm beverage with a good book.  Hot apple cider hits the spot for some.

Let me share with you how I created this card:

1. I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Mini Album Square Scallop STAX to create my card base (the second largest die).

2. I used Stampin’ Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss the front of my card base.

3. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Wafer Die to cut the third largest circle.

4. I stamp my cup image from Newton’s Nook Designs Apple Delights onto Neenah 80lb Solar White Cardstock.

5.  I colored my image using Copic Markers: BG05, BG07, R24, R46, E18, E15, E21, E23, Go7, T0

6. I attached the stitched circle to the front of my card panel with foam adhesive.

7.  I stamped my sentiment on the inside of the card from the same stamp set.

That is my card for today. I hope you play along with us this week.

CASology 131 – Birthday

Hello everyone!!  It’s Tuesday and you know what that means, its CASology time.  Yayyyy!!  Last week, there were so many fabulous cards, it was super hard to choose one card.

This weeks cue card it fabulous too.  Check it out:

Week 131 - Birthday

Such a fun word.  The possibilities are endless. I saw a card Laura Bassen created and I and wanted to make a card similar to hers.

Take a look at my card:

Wishing you the happiest Birthday(this photo doesn’t do this card justice, its so pretty in person)

This little lady is all dressed up and ready to attend a birthday party.  Isn’t she the cutest little you’ve seen!!

Here is how I created this card:

1.  I cut my card base to an A2 (4.25 x 5.50) size card.  I cut my card panel to (4 x 5.25).

2. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle die to create an opening on the card panel.

3.  I use the cut circle to draw a circle on my card base to guide where my stamped imagine should be placed.

4. I stamped the little girl from Penny Black Cool Chicks Stamp Set within the drawn in circle on my card front.  Once the ink dried, I erased the circle.

5. I colored the little girl with Copic Markers.

Hat: BG11, BG 13, BG15, R24, and Y06

Dress: R22, R24, and R27.

Necklace: BG34

Stocking: R24,  and BG34

Shoes: R20 and R24

Skin: E00 and E11

6. I used Copic BG 34 to color a piece of cardstock to match the color in the little girls dress.

7. I die cut Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die 4 times (3 black die cuts and one out of the cardstock that I colored.

8. I stacked that word die on top of each other and adhered it to the front of my card.

9. I stamped the rest of the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing stamp set.

What do you think?  What about my coloring? I would love to hear from you.

CASology 130 – Friend

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the new CASology Challenge!

I have to admit, the cue card this week had me stumped for a minute.  I wasn’t sure what to create or even were to begin.  Its not that the word was hard because it wasn’t, I just didn’t now what to do.

You see, for this challenge I love thinking out of the box.  I always look in my dictionary for another meaning of the word.  For this cue, it was hard to get an alternative meaning.  So, I decided to go back to the basics and just play with the my  stamps with no deep meaning behind it!!

Here is the Cue Card:

Week 130 - FriendSo you see what I mean.  When you see the word “Friend”, you know what it means hands down.  How do you interpret that word?

Here is what I came up with:

Friends ForeverI went back the basics here!  I stamped and colored.  I searched my stamps for a stamp set that would either represented a friendship or the word friend.

I came across Lawn Fawn’s Feathered Friends stamp set.  The light bulb went off, how perfect is this set.

My card is simple as simple can be. This is how I created it:

1. I cut my white cardstock to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50) scored at 5.50.

2. I stamped all of the images from the stamp set on the front of my card.

3. I used Copic markers to color my image: R22, R24, Y11, Y13, YR68, E35, E37.

4. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the hearts.

5. That was it!  My card shows the friendship between the two birds.  What could be better then that!!

Don’t forget to check out what my fellow DT members have created.

CASology 129 – NBUS

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the CASology Design Team this weeks Challenge.

We are combining challenges with Darnell Knauss NBUS (Never Been Used Schtuff)!

Week 129 - NBUS          NBUS

Yayyyyy, how much fun is that!! I have sooooo much schtuff that I’ve never used before, choosing what to use was not hard at all.

Take a look at my card:

AwesomeThe die cut and stamp set from Lil’ inkers designs are new!!

Here is how I created this card:

1. I cut my Neenah Solar card stock to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50) scored at 5.50.

2. I used painters tape to score off the bottom have of my card so that I could do some ink blending.

3. I used Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed to create the color at the bottom of my card.

4.  I die cut Lil’ inker designs Awesome Word Die out to the card base between the white and the color blend.

5. I cut a piece of lightweight cardstock, added adhesive and attached it to the inside of my card front.

6. Then I die cut the word Awesome 3 more times so that the word will pop up off of the card. I stacked the word on top of each other with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive.

7. I inlaid the word back in the card. The adhesive was already on the the card panel that I added in step 5.

8. I stamped my sentiment underneath the die cut word using Lil’ inker designs Hello, Awesome.

9.  I added some My Mind’s Eye Charmed Black Enamel Dots to the front of the card.

Easy peasy!!

What do you think?  I would love to hear from you.

CASology 128 – Date

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!!!

Happy-New-Year-2015-HD-1080p-Wallpaper1

I’m super doper excited to be here today as a Design Team Member for CASology!!!

I still can’t believe it!!  Don’t wake me if I’m dreaming!!

2015 is going to be a great year, I can feel it. It’s starting off to a great start! Wouldn’t you say!!

Starting with today, January 6th, 2015!!  Are you asking why?  Can you guess?  It has a lot to do with the cue word for today. It might seem a little corny but it means a lot to me.

I hope you guessed what the cue word is for this CASology Challenge.  If not, here you go!

Week 128 - Date

Here is my card:

CASology-DateThis date is super important to me because it signifies a new start with an amazing Design Team.

I decided to use the colors red, black and white because those are the colors of the CASology blog.

The heart symbolizes my love for the challenge. Don’t you just love that sketch heart.  Its super cute.

So, I made another card. I just change the colors around.

Take a look:

CASologydateredheart

These card were easy to create and would make awesome valentine day cards for loved ones.

Here’s how I created both cards:

1. I cut my card base to a 4 x 4 card size scored at 4 out of Simon Says Stamp 120lb thick white cardstock.

2. I used my Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart to cut the heart out of my card base.

3. Then I cut the heart out of Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock.

4.  For both cards, I added a piece of piece of printer paper to the inside front flap of the card so that the heart would stick perfectly.

5. For the first card, I inlaid the red sketch heart with the white heart base.  I did the opposite for the second card.

6.  I stamped the date using Lawn Fawn Quinn’s 123 Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

7. I rounded my corners using my corner chomper.

That was easy peasy, right!!  You have to check out my fellow design team members creations for more inspiration.
