Take a look at my card:

Cardinal Firends

For this card I used the new Cardinal Friends Stamp set. Super cute birds and warm sentiments.

Here’s how I created this card:

Cut a piece of cardstock to 7 by 8.5 and score at 3.5.

Stamp the branch, bird and sentiment using Permanent Crisp Black Ink.

Use Copic Markers R37, R39, Y17 and E37 to color in the images.

Round the two right corners using the 3 Way Corner Punch.

Super clean and simple!

Let’s take another look:

Cardinal Friends

Project Number 2

Take a look at my Christmas tags:

Holiday Chic Tags

I used the new Holiday Chic Tags Stamp Set! This set is amazing. I love the sentiments. Their fonts are the right size.

Here’s how I create these tags:

Die cut three tags.

Use the pattern stamps included in the Holiday Chic Tags stamp set and stamp onto the tags using Ruby Red Ink.

Let that dry. Use an embossing buddy to dusty powder on top to make sure the ink is dry.

Stamp the sentiments with embossing ink.

Sprinkle silver embossing power on top of the wet ink and heat set it.

String a piece of ribbon through the hole on the top and your done.

Let’s take another look:

Creating this card was a no brainer!! I saw the small bird from the A Little Birdie stamp set and knew that I had to stamp them at the top of the card, to show them in flight.

After stamping the sentiment, I used Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers to color in that sentiment.

The card base is Neenah Desert Storm card stock and the card panel is Simon Says Stamp Woodgrain cardstock.

I adhered the pieces to the card panel after stamping the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Ink.

I added RAH Marigold Flower Sequins, Daffodil Flower and Hydrangea Flower Sequins to the card front to finish it off.

What do you think?

Take a look at card 2:

Pop of color (RAH)

For this card, I used the Right at Home Stamps Color In Sentiments stamp.

The card panel was cut using Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Frame Dies.

I stamped the sentiment on the white card panel using My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink.

I used the Tombow Recycled Colored Pencils to color the image in.

Sparkle and Shine Challenge

Second Post for today
If your looking for the CS Take It Make It Challenge, click here

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the Sparkle and Shine Challenge!!!

I really love this challenge this month.  It allowed me to come out of my comfort zone and create a card with a scene. I absolutely love it.

Here is the inspiration photo that guided us this time around:

12278897_10206896925033999_4680045331007273345_n

Now take a look at my take on this photo:

By Your side

OMG!!  Tell me this isn’t amazing!! I love this card so much.  Those birds are amazing and after seeing the many ways they can be used.  I had to use them for this challenge.

Here is how I created this card:

  1. I cute my black card base to a standard size A2 card, 4.25 x 5.50 scored at 4.25.
  2. I used Concord & 9th By Your Side Bird Die to cut the birds out of the black card base.
  3. Then I cut Simon Say Stamp Fog cardstock down to 4 x 5.25, so that it could fit behind the birds to give them a better contrast.
  4. Before inserting the fog cardstock behind the birds, I added some dimension to the card panel using (closed store) Top Dog Die Bats die to create some extra black tree branches.
  5. I added those trees to the top of the card pane using Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  6. Then I stamped my sentiment from Concord & 9th By Your Side Stamp Set using Versafine Black Ink.
  7. After the ink dried, I slide the fog card stock into place behind the birds. I adhered it down with Tombow Extreme adhesive.
  8. To add the red birds, I die cut them again using Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock and them cut them of the branch.
  9. I adhered them to the black birds already there using Tombow Extreme adhesive.
  10. Then I used a black thin marker to add a black line near the birds beak.
  11. I used Tsukineko Radiant Neon Amplify! to add some snow to the scene. Super cool to watch the snow pop up.
  12. For my sparkle and shine, I added Distress Glitter Clear Rock Candy to the birds wing tips and the top tree branches.

What do you think?

Now its your turn to give this challenge a try!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Right at Home!! The winner this challenge will receive a $15 gift card to her store and be asked to join us next month as our Guest Designer.

Second Post for the day
If your looking for the Sparkle and Shine Challenge, click here

Hello everyone!!  It’s CASology Tuesday!!  We are back with another Cue Card just for you!!

This week’s cue card is :

Week 177 - Toy

Take a look at my card:

toy birds (CAS)

OMG!!  I love those birds!!  Now your probably wondering what does this card have to do with the cue card!

I had a hard time trying to figure out what I was going to do since I didn’t have any stamps that represent toys.  So, I thought and thought about what I could do.  What can I do, then a light bulb went off.  I receive happymail almost everyday and I am so giddy, like a kid in a candy store.

My new stamps and dies are my “TOYS“!!!

Here is a picture of my newest happymail package:

IMG_6599

It was from Concord & 9th, who happens to be our sponsor this week.  Their new release is totally amazing. I couldn’t wait to play with my new toys.

Take a look at the inside of my card:

Toy birds inside (CAS)

Oh what joy my stamps, dies, sequin, ink pads, and all of my crafting tools brings me.  These are my big girl toys!!

To create my card using Concord & 9th By Your Side Bundle:

  1. I used Stampin’ Up! Woodgrain embossing folder to emboss the front of my card.
  2. Then I die cut the birds out of Tim Holtz Watercolor paper.
  3. I used my Koi Watercolor to color my birds and tree limb.
  4. I used Tombow Multipurpose Glue to adhere the birds to the card front.
  5. I stamped my sentiment on the inside of the card.

Super easy and fun!!

So what do you think?  Do you agree that our crafty supplies are our toys.  Let me know.

Now its your turn!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

CS Take It Make It: Take a Technique

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with CS Take It Make It Design Team for our April Challenge!

This months challenge is going to be super fun!!  Its all about getting Your Color On!

You can color anything as long as its bright, vibrant and full of color.  No monochrome, dark or grungy projects, they need to be BRIGHT!! You don’t have to use every color in the rainbow all at once…but think along those lines!!

I told you this well be super fun.  I was apart of a 30 day coloring challenge last month so this will be awesome to continue that fun.

Take a look at my project:

Hello my friend (CS)

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you will know that I love these birds.  I think they are the funniest image ever.

They are such great images to practice your coloring on.  I’ve used all different types of mediums with them.

For this card I used distress inks to watercolor this bird.  I love how picked raspberry and mustard seed blend together.

Check out this card:

Hello Hello You (CS)

I told you I can’t get enough of this stamp set!  LOL!!

Creating these cards were so easy and stress relieving.

Here’s how:

1. I cut my watercolor paper panel a couple sizes smaller then my black card base.

2. I stamped Tim Holtz Bird Crazy onto my watercolor panel using Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink.  I used that ink because its waterproof, which means no smudging!!

3. I spread Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed Distress Ink onto my craft sheet.  I spritz it with water and used my paintbrush to add the colors to my watercolor panel, very freely.

4. Once I had enough color on my paper I heat set it.

5. I used Winnie and Walters The Big, the Bold and the Happy to stamp my sentiment using the same jet black ink.

6. I adhered the watercolor panel to my black card base using fun foam. The fun foam keeps the watercolor panel straight and even.

7. For the second card I used Evergreen Bough and Mustard Seed Distress Ink.

I love how my cards turned out.  They are nice a bright with color!!

Now its your turn to play along with us.

We have a great prize pack for you.

We have two prizes to offer this month, the first is our sponsor prize. This winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries in the challenge! The sponsor for April is:

Crazy Birds…

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the Less is More challenge.  Its One Layer Week and the subject should include an Animal.

Less-Is-More-HeaderI’ve been playing along with Kathy’s 30 days of coloring challenge and I finally got my hands on Tim Holtz Crazy Birds stamp set and had to color them in.

Take a look at my card:

Happy Your My Friend

Don’t you just love these birds??  When I first saw these birds, I wasn’t a fan but then I saw all the amazing things everyone was creating with them.  So I decided that I need to get this set and I made the best choice ever.

I used my new Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set.  Can I just say these are so yummy!!  Totally cream.

The stamped sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Flowers On My Mind stamp set.

All I did was take my time and watercolor each image and letting it dry.

So what do you think?  Let me know. I think they are so cute, LOL!!!

CASology 130 – Friend

Hello everyone!!  I’m here today with the new CASology Challenge!

I have to admit, the cue card this week had me stumped for a minute.  I wasn’t sure what to create or even were to begin.  Its not that the word was hard because it wasn’t, I just didn’t now what to do.

You see, for this challenge I love thinking out of the box.  I always look in my dictionary for another meaning of the word.  For this cue, it was hard to get an alternative meaning.  So, I decided to go back to the basics and just play with the my  stamps with no deep meaning behind it!!

Here is the Cue Card:

Week 130 - FriendSo you see what I mean.  When you see the word “Friend”, you know what it means hands down.  How do you interpret that word?

Here is what I came up with:

Friends ForeverI went back the basics here!  I stamped and colored.  I searched my stamps for a stamp set that would either represented a friendship or the word friend.

I came across Lawn Fawn’s Feathered Friends stamp set.  The light bulb went off, how perfect is this set.

My card is simple as simple can be. This is how I created it:

1. I cut my white cardstock to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.50) scored at 5.50.

2. I stamped all of the images from the stamp set on the front of my card.

3. I used Copic markers to color my image: R22, R24, Y11, Y13, YR68, E35, E37.

4. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the hearts.

5. That was it!  My card shows the friendship between the two birds.  What could be better then that!!

Don’t forget to check out what my fellow DT members have created.
